Love Grows Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 51 ratings

Angel Whitlock, owner of Dig It nursery, knows three things. She knows everything about native Australian plants, she knows that her friends will always have her back, and now she knows that she needs to post a ‘position vacant’ sign when Kahlia goes on early maternity leave.

Steph Thatcher applies for the position, and while she’s got a great reference, her background is somewhat sketchy. Angel has always thought of herself as a good judge of character and Steph feels like a good person. A hot, very pretty, good person.

When the local council decides to rezone the adjacent land and allow Walker’s Industries to build an enormous lifestyle warehouse at the end of the road, Dig It, Coffee and Crystals, Mrs G’s fish and chips, and Ted’s Used Books band together to fight the decision.

Meanwhile, Angel and Steph can’t help their growing attraction, but, when they decide to act on it, all manner of secrets are revealed.

Can Angel’s nursery and the other businesses tough it out against a company set on destroying their very existence? And can Angel’s heart survive Steph Thatcher?

A feel good story about the power of community, plants, Tarot and friendship. And love.

Her books are best-sellers, with all either finalists or winners in the Goldie Awards, IHeartSapphic, eLit Awards and LesFic Bard awards. K.J. writes stories because her imagination takes the wheel. Permanently anxious and fond of her cats, K.J. has been told that she's contagiously happy and rather funny. That last one is debatable.

Every book KJ writes is a page turner. I can't think of many authors whose works I consume in two days. KJ's are just so hard to put down once you start reading. Her characters are real, down to earth, and this book was a fun read.

KJ, brilliant, lovely, addictive books. This was no exception to her writing. I greatly enjoy her storytelling. It pulls me in from the first few pages and doesn't let me go until I finish, way too soon.
The MCs are masterful. Wonderful chemistry that gets stronger as the story continues. Fabulous secondary characters that add to the storyline. Emotional, heartfelt, and soothing. I love every book that I have devoured by KJ (Wrights). I look forward to more in the future.

I loved Love Grows. The humor embedded in the book was delightful. I found myself chuckling. Angel owns a boutique nursery. More importantly she is just a really nice person with loyalty, integrity and a great sense of community. There is community activism and romance and wonderful characters. I especially enjoyed the descriptions of native Australian plants at the beginning of each chapter. I love this author and impressed and grateful that she managed to produce this book against so many difficulties.

Another well written tale by our lovable Aussie. I enjoyed the story and the botanical headings to all the chapters. All were totally unfamiliar to me, but informative to read. Now to retain this knowledge! Thanks, K J.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beauty, hope, and representation we need in the world

I beta read this book. And then have managed to just read it again in under two days.

Yea, that’s how amazing it is.

The beautiful flowing writing that is so everything KJ mixed in with an ensemble of diverse and wonderful supporting characters.

The real rawness of emotions is equaled only to the cute self-deprecating brilliance that is Angel. I adored this character when I met her in a previous KJ book and am so excited that her own wonderful story is now out there for you lol to read. And you should definitely read it.

There are perspectives and points in this book that made me smile and soak in the importance of the everyday lives of every day people.

If fuelled hope bd we need more books like this in the world.

It was a good read and the characters were likeable but the conflict point seemed a bit of a reach.
