Love Signals: An opposites-attract, forced proximity, only one bed, revenge romantic comedy (Brainiacs in Love Romantic Comedy Series Book 2) Kindle Edition
Allie Cammareri is about to get her revenge. It’s been twelve years coming, but she’s finally going to defeat the ex who stole her research then dumped her.
She’s in a race against him to finish the same big project, and there can only be one winner. All she needs is a few more weeks of working around the clock, and victory will be hers.
So when her boss announces she’s being pulled off the project to mentor a Hollywood A-lister who’s preparing for an upcoming movie role, Allie is devastated. She doesn’t care that it’s People’s Sexiest Man, Hudson Finch.
Allie refuses to let him get in her way, even if Hudson is the most distracting (and delicious-smelling) man on the planet. But between the close confines of her tiny office and a night stranded together in a secluded mountain cabin, her feelings for Hudson turn into something she never could’ve predicted.
She may be falling hard for him, but can Allie really find her happily ever after in his muscley arms?
*** Love Signals is an irresistibly charming, deliciously dishy, banter-filled tale about an ordinary woman and the superstar who falls for her. With a crazy cast—including a father who’s sure no one will ever be good enough for his little girl—there’s sure to be plenty of cringe-worthy moments, lots of laughs, and even a few tears. It’s a standalone rom-com with a few tablespoons of extra spice than a regular Melanie Summers book.***

About the author

Melanie Summers is a multi-award-winning, Amazon best-selling author of romantic comedies and women’s fiction. She’s written over thirty books for people who have 'had it up to here' with the real world and need to laugh, feel good, and sigh happily. When she’s not writing or reading, she's usually out for a walk with her two adorable dogs, hanging out on the beach with her husband and their three teenagers, or curled up on the couch for family movie night. Melanie resides on Vancouver Island, Canada where her life goal is to become one of those fabulous people who take daily ice baths in the ocean. So far, she can get in up to her ankles, which is not awful, thank you very much.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 10, 2024Melanie Summers takes us back to the SETI (Search For Extraterrestrial Intelligence) Research Institute for the second installment of the Love Struck series. This time around the Hollywood entertainment industry invades the scientific community of astrophysics. A near fatal encounter with a Brazilian wandering spider, a snowy tryst at a mountain top observatory, a sharp-tongued social media influencer, a large loud and boisterous Italian family, a female radio astronomer and a sexy leading man at a career crossroads are all components of this funny and delightful romance. I adored Hudson Finch. He's charming, polite, caring, kind and absolutely gorgeous. The antithesis of the image of a box office phenomenon. He's also has a big secret that has influnced most of his life choices. Hollywood is trying to put him on a shelf so it's time to redirect his talents to more serious roles. Dr. Allegra Cammareri is serious, brilliant, dedicated and beautiful. Though she doesn't know it. She's also been burned badly by love and as such is intolerant of any types of lies. She's on the cusp of intoducing major changes in the advancement of discerning alien signals but has to take time to babysit a film star. To say that she's not a happy camper is an understatement. Unfortunately the attraction between her and Hudson is undeniable and grows by the hour. Until it goes off the rails when a truth is revealed. It maybe an insurmountable chasm but Hudson is putting it all on the line for the woman he lives.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2024I absolutely love all of Melanie Summer's books, and Love Signals was perfectly Melanie. The characters are great, the banter so funny. So many LOL moments counter balanced with touching moments.
This isn't as squeeky clean as some of her prior romcoms, it's still somewhat mild in the spice department. It's way more about the characters and their relationship than detailing bedroom escapades. There are definitely some spicy scenes though, but they were light and fun.
I love the women in STEM in this series. This is book 2 but can totally be read as a standalone without you missing anything.
I'm also a fan of chapter titles and this book not only has them, but they are funny and just so perfect.
The female MC, Allie, has the most amazing and funny Italian family. I loved them all so much, and wish I could join them for Sunday dinner.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2024This is a great romantic comedy! The hero and heroine are absolutely the best people, the banter is witty, and the side characters are a hoot. The only thing you can do that would be better than picking it up and reading it would be to read The Space Between Us first!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 25, 2024Initially I put this book down a few times because I couldn't understand Hudson's need to hide his learning difficulty. It was nothing to do with how it was written by the author. I do have to go on record saying that the cast of zaney side characters really made this story shine! I want to go on record saying that Ferris Biltmore is the absolute best side character EVER! The jokes were hilarious and made this a great light-hearted read. The only reason I took a star off was because the beginning felt slow and I kept putting it down.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2024In a career that is beginning to want, Hudson decides to try a more serious acting role and in his need to study the character, he is attached to Allie, a genius woman trying to further thecsearch for extraterrestrial life. She could care less about Hudson as she's trying to figure out and build her AI. Despite that, Hudson is drawn to her and its only until the rest of the world learns of her that drama ensues.
Allegra is one of those heroines that I love because she is so far from other leading ladies. She is a nerdy, glass wearing, brilliant woman, just clawing her way through everything and will forget to eat because she is so consumed with searching for an answer. And when she finds out about Hudson's problem, she doesn't belittle him but still sees him as an equal and encourages to become even greater, turning his negative illness into something powerful. Women like her exist and its time we see them in our reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 11, 2024Actually liked this book up to a certain point. The author can build a relationship, dialogue is flowing, humor is handled well. The sex gets more involved and detailed than I like it but I can skim if the rest is worth reading. However, I DNFd at 87% because out of the blue it turned into yet another story where the female turns completely irrational and delusional and dumps the perfect guy for a BS reason. I don’t know how it ends, but I don’t even want to read the inevitable part where he comes grovelling back, because women capable of such sudden and unreasonable cruelty never just do this once. It’s like growing up with my mother. The whole family had PTSD because we never knew when she was going to blow, and I wouldn’t wish it on anybody. The only end I would want to read at this point is the one where she grovels to him and he won’t accept her apology and moves on to have a happy ending with a reasonable woman who deserves him.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2024A total must read! Rom com with a smart, fiesty, funny fmc. A mmc who is gorgeous, discovering himself and can't help but notice the smart woman who's giving him a reality check. I loooved it! Great story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Telling lies, hiding the truth leads to heartbreak
A very beautifully amusing, delightfully absorbing ng storyline, about a geek, in Allie, and an actor in Hudson are flung together due to a future film. Hudson is approaching 40 years , and a very popular actor, but his agent feels his young dude and adventurous roles are a bit to young for him. His last two films although in the can have not been fully shown as the powers that are feel it’s a flop!! A need to change to a possible lower key, character, about a topic less swashbuckling buckling and more factual. SETI, an organisation about listening for life beyond our world!!! To.be able to portray a founder knowledge has to be learnt, and to do so Hudson is to attend a unit dedicated to this topic and shadow Allegra an expert. Love blossoms, truths are told and secrets divulged. Dyslexia is a very difficult topic to comprehend but the author puts it across very well and has obviously done a lot of research. Often a hidden topic due to lack of understanding and hopefully this may help people understand. Well written , a great HEA, and incredibly readable.
