About the author

Marcia has enjoyed writing for many years, but originally only for pleasure and friends or family. Marcia wrote Murderous Mishaps for a friend, who after regaling her with all the latest gossip said 'they wouldn't believe you if you wrote it down.' So she did. All based on true stories, but totally exaggerated, of course.
Since then, Marcia has written the ongoing Meredith & Hodge crime series. The Bearing Witness series, which has a touch of the paranormal & a cozy mystery series, The Little Compton Mysteries, and has recently released a new series, introducing JJ Jenson. There have also been a few standalone novels, but yes, they are all murder/mysteries. So far. . .
Marcia is married, with two children, two grandchildren and a German Shepherd - Ted. They live in Bristol, UK.

- Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2018Format: KindleI've never read anything quite like it. Not quite fantasy, not really a mystery, no romance (at least not for the protagonist). Very good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI knew it!!!! What an amazing story & what an ending!!! You have to read this book. It maybe a bit confusing at first but you'll get there has the story progresses. It's incredible how 1 person can change the lives of others with one good deed. I have read every book this author has written & look forward to the next adventure she will take me on. Thanks Marcia

5.0 out of 5 stars A thought provoking, feel good read!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother excellent read - well done Mrs T!
I had no real idea what to expect from Mrs Turner this time. Having thoroughly enjoyed her previous works, I had no hesitation in reaching for this book. With expectations high I settled down one evening with the intent of reading a few pages before going to bed. Fortunately it was a Friday evening, as I was still wide awake and reading avidly at 4.00am!
The characters develop quickly, which is one reason why the book is immediately engaging, but they still keep little secrets which we discover along the way. I must have had made 5 or 6 attempts as guessing the ending, none of which was near the mark. Having finished the book, I was able to recall all the clues which would have lead me to the correct answer, but the plot was so well crafted that I didn't link them together.
An excellent and thought provoking book, which I was unable to put down, a perfect holiday or rainy weekend read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAs Lucy starts her first job after university she is thrown in the deep end with lots of new clients and it doesn't help that she cannot remember what the job is! As her life gets more tangled with her clients there are plenty of mysteries and drama to keep you hooked!
I couldn't put The Recruitment of Lucy James down, I had to know what was going to happen with her clients and what the mystery job was! Loved the characters (as always with Marcia's books!) you feel part of their 'family'! I wont spoil the ending for anyone other than to say the reveal was a surprise for me and was one of those books that keeps you thinking about what you would have decided long after you have finished reading the book.
Highly recommended!
