Like it, but where is part 2?
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the characters but was disappointed with the ending. I wanted to continue reading this story line but cannot find if there is a part 2. Since this was published in 2017 and now is 2021, I can only assume that it doesn’t have a part 2. That being the case, I will not be purchasing anymore books from this author until an entire story line has been published.
Boring
This book is boring. I couldn’t get into the characters at all, Lady Lydia is supposed to be out spoken and a lady with no rules. She lived with her Aunt that I guess let her do anything and everything she wanted. Well that of course doesn’t set well with her new guardian that she has moved in to his home due to her father’s passing. Now come the new guardian Lord Thomas which doesn’t want to be her guardian at all. All he want to do is spank her for everything thing she seems to do wrong which isn’t anything that merits getting a spanking at all. Lady Lydia is supposed to be out spoken but every time Lord Thomas looks at her she seems to loose her tongue and gets in trouble anyway. You never really get to know any of the characters at all just a whole lot of spanking (which is ok for me to a point.) I’ve read a lot of discipline novels and have enjoy them a lot but this one I had to speed read to get to the end and then the end was such a let down.

Typing with one hand, while fanning myself with the other. Holy buckets this book… In the synopsis the publishers added a note stating that this story includes spankings and sexual scenes...Ummm yea, there was, written absolutely beautifully I might add.
I love a controlling alpha in my stories, and Lord Thomas Markham defines controlling alpha, he doesn't miss anything and Lady Lydia has learned this quite thoroughly. What started out as her becoming his ward after the death of her father quickly turned in to Lydia, who is almost 19 experiencing things about herself that she would probably never have realized had she not moved to Markham Manor. None of this was missed by Lord Thomas as he was also experiencing feelings he wasn't sure how to handle. What they felt for each other was impossible to deny. The process of them falling in love was so sweet, well in between the punishments since Lady Lydia just couldn't control her insolence and constantly misbehaved, sometimes not even meaning to. When he proposes and she accepts I was worried something was bound to happen, but it wasn't till after the wedding we realize that not everyone is happy about this union, and there's trouble on the horizon. Can the bond that these two share be strong enough to get them through whatever is being planned for them, or will the rumors from his past just strengthen these plans and be their downfall?
I completely enjoyed this story, it had a smooth flow to the storyline and was hard to put down while reading. I can not wait for the next book in this series, I didn't even realize it was a series till I read the last words and I will follow, like and stalk this author till I see news of the next part.
