From the Author
Fina Fitzgibbons, the main character of this mystery series, is a private investigator who lives with her boyfriend, Denny, in the Vinegar Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn. Abandoned by her father at an early age, she mourns the recent loss of her mother, sometimes with an overwhelming ache. She fears loving and losing. She's wary of trampling on the privacy of others. She's not perfect, not by a long shot. Sometimes she takes Denny for granted; sometimes she's jealous of Detective First Grade Jane Templeton; sometimes she makes snap judgments. But she's smart and she's got that wizard thing going on. And something else about Fina--she never, ever gives up.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2015Really a good read!! Enjoyed all of the book. Very minimum amount of foul language and that is a real plus for my taste. All in all it was just a good read that one doesn't forget what they are reading about. Characters well developed, story line was great and believable.I recommend this book to make one more aware of how easy busy lives can affect those we love and our own lives, especially single parents no matter if the child/children are teenagers or younger. I did receive this book free, however if I had purchased it I still would not have been disappointed with what ever I might have paid. The violence in the book is really past tense so it isn't graphic, and editing was great. Again an Excellent read!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2017I enjoyed this book. I also appreciated that there wasn't excessive cursing and sex. I liked the young character, Brandy who was quirky but a brave young girl. I didn't like how cold & rude Fina, the P.I. was towards the mother, Tricia, of the missing girl. I would have sent Fina down the road & hired a more sympathetic P.I.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2015I have to admit that I am partial to books that take place in real places and use real streets, restaurants, etc., especially places that I am familiar with. That being said, this book does that, has a believable and interesting plot and characters. The writing style, switching back and forth between characters and their viewpoint, takes getting used to, but once you do, it is a fast and easy read.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2015I will say, this is a very Good story! It will keep your interest, IF you can keep up with it.
More than half way through it jumps around, from person to person, from the past to the present.
It is hard to make sense of it all. I know the Author is just trying to tell the back story of each person.
But there are way too many repeats in this book for my liking. It repeats so many things,
things about the past like how Brandy's father died, and the retelling of the case over and over with
each person. The reading of Brandy's diary was a waste of time, I really did not see where it helped with
anything. But it did take up a chapter. Just so many things I could mention that were what I call filler
to make a book longer but really doesn't add one thing to the story.
If not for those things and all the repeats, it was a really good story. I might try another Fina story.
This is a different type of writing for sure and if you get a chance just read the free trial to see
what I mean. I'm not knocking it, but it takes some getting used to because it is different.
Happy reading....
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2017This was a well-written book with loads of interesting characters (the secondary characters were also tops!) and a good plot. The plot was just a bit transparent - the readers know where the author is heading - but it was still an enjoyable ride. This was the second book in this series that I've read and I plan to keep reading. I strongly recommend the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 14, 2018I enjoyed this author's first book. Missing Brandy has made me a fan. Susan Russo Anderson is a talented story weaver. Thirteen year old Brandy comes up missing. It is Fina's job to find her. She and her team are working against the clock to collect the clues that will lead them to this missing child. I liked the way Anderson let's the reader into the mind of the kidnapper, or at least one of them. She leaves enough mystery surrounding Ben to leave the reader guessing. There is an interesting twist at the end. Enough lose edges hang at the end to motivate the reader to pick up book three.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 13, 2014Excellent read. The characters are well drawn, the story line is terrific and God bless Ms. Anderson for finding a good editor and proofreader. Most of the e-books I've read lately have been rife with misspellings and grammatical errors. So nice to read without those distractions. I'll be looking for more from this fine writer.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2017Just finished this book which is the second in the Brooklyn Series.....This author is amazing. I love her books. She writes about the area where I grew up and is just great to be able to read a book and have the background described and remembering it. I Love all Susan Russo Anderson's books so far. They are hard to put down once you begin. Keep writing Susan!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good
I will be honest, I read this book because it was free. I'm so glad the author did this otherwise I would not have found another author who I am going to love reading.
This book is based on revenge. A man loses a court case involving his dead son, then spends the next ten years plotting his revenge.
It was a nice easy read, written in depth so that you felt part of the book. What a I really enjoyed was the way it was written. It was written from each of the main characters prospective. You have to keep an eye on each chapter and make sure you read the top of each character because of the way the book is written.
I LOVED this book, so much so that it is off to Amazon I go, to get the next one.

Oh lord this author is very long winded and talks to much about things that do not enhance the story line. Quit and moved on.
