    This one caught me off guard. It was my first book by this author as it appeared all her other ones were short stories and I don't go for those. This one was at least 200 pages so I decided to give it a shot and LOVED it!

    Insta loves aren't usually my thing but this writer did a great job keeping it from sounding cliché and hokey. The story moved very fast and it takes a good writer to pull that off without it feeling rushed, cringey and unsatisfying - but Davenport got it right!

    MMC was our guilty pleasure alpha mafioso and hit all the right growly buttons. The FMC was that adorable innocent without coming across as stupid in her naivete or unrealistic.

    Great blend of spice, romance and plot with a little bit of conflict. Overall great read. Now I'm left wishing she had other books that were more than short stories!!

    I don't want it to sound like a complaint, I really like these writers. And I can accept that the reality of a book is not realistic.
    But in what real or imaginary universe the next mafia boss, especially with the power that they point out in other books that he has, can walk around without bodyguards and if he needs security he will have to hire HIRE, sorry but where are his soldiers? on vacation in the Amazon.
    It's incredible that I believe books are more realistic with a guard on each door, weapons, security rooms, bad guys more bad than the bad guy who's fair to us.
