The other thing I have, though, is knowledge beyond what this world has dreamt of, and nothing will stop me from building my own magic empire!

About the author

Grade school, college, and then a mission to find himself. Konstantin tried his hand at many things, from his own small women’s clothing business to working in real estate. But no matter how busy he was, he always found time to read often and occasionally play RPGs.
Later, Konstantin participated in short story competitions and found resounding success. Then in one beautiful moment, he finally realized what he wanted to do with his life and published his first fantasy novel, The Safe Level.
The novel was nominated in a major literary portal’s annual competition, and was one of five winners. That was the beginning. In 2023, The Last Portal Jumper was published, becoming one of the best new RealRPG novels that year.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2025I am interested in the next book. This is a good sign! It is a slow plot, but it moves along. A lot of good characters. Great world building. A lot of sneaky and suspicious characters too!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2025While I do love this series, I should point out that it is Isekai not Portal - He died / was reborn here and if there is a way to go back home it has not yet been revealed. It is Base Building more than Progression (not that Progression has a fixed definition I can find) without stat blocks. And it has have some returner / reincarnator elements linked to the post apocalyptic setting.
But if you happen to like base building with Magitek Steampunk Russians flying Dirigibles (and who doesn't?) you will like this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2025This book was a really good series introduction. The characters were interesting, lots of action and adventure, and fascinating magic thrown in too. Even though it seems like a hard world to live in, I do think it would be fun to visit. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 12, 2025I’ve read a lot of books and novels so maybe my taste is too high or I’m too judgmental. I have read the whole book don’t worry and am rating this book a 3 for a reason. The writing is good and the idea of the story is spectacular. The pros sadly end there as the cons in my opinion have made me drop the book early.
Firstly after reading the whole book not even 2 weeks have gone by and the baron has done things to a village that would normally take seasons. I do not mind a slow paced book but find this to be quite exaggerated. The conflicts are forced honestly I came here hoping to find a kingdom building book. Instead there are hints of a possible harem and constant political warfare that isn’t needed for having just settled in a remote location.
I will end with this I still have not figured out how he transmigrated here maybe my memory slips me there but I also don’t know how advanced his old civilization was or what was the limit of their technology or magic power.
Thank you for listening I am done I would still recommend this book as it was a fun little read that kept me engaged.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2025Really like this story. My only issue is some of the grammar and sentence structure. Other than that I expect this story to go 10 or 12 books maybe more.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2025I enjoyed the characters. Post-apocalyptic Russia is a new and fun setting for this style of story.
I would appreciate more descriptions about the locations and people. It would also help me if the story were a little slower, and if there were smoother transitions from scene to scene. I often had to roll back a paragraph to figure out where the action was happening, or that someone had entered the scene.
I look forward to book 2 and hope things will slow down now that the backstory is complete.

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprising
Decided to try this after seeing the book on my recommends list and was surprised with how good it was looking forward to reading more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Portal isekai
Good book with an interesting take on a portal isekai. Nice twist with magitech, and throwing politics in right at the beginning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good.
Very entertaining, but the overuse of exclamation marks makes reading exhausting, as if everyone is filled with so much energy. The eroticism is pretty nice and not overbearing, and the characters are okay. Quite entertaining.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor English and sentence structure
I good start to a series and some really good ideas. You can tell that English is a second language, but it’s easy to get over that. Lots of “He did this, they did that.” With no reasoning or development.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just a bait for the next book.
As a read book ok. But I hate these bait tactics i don't consider paying for next. Quality is definitely in the lower price range.
