Magic Minutes (The Time Series Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 1,714 ratings

Bestselling author Jennifer Millikin delivers a coming of age novel about first loves and second chances.

Yesterday, I got engaged. I said yes to a man who loves me, and I love him. Happiness should shine brightly from my head to my toes.

But that’s not happening.

Despite this ring on my finger, I can’t stop looking back at my life, back to the boy who cast a spell on me a long time ago.

It’s true, there is no love like your first.

I was eighteen when Noah Sutton stole my heart. He was destined for greatness, and I could barely scrape together enough money to help my mother pay our rent. We spent that summer pushing limits, breaking rules, and living in moments I thought would last forever.

None of that stopped us from breaking each other’s hearts.

I could tell you we were too different.

That we were doomed from day one.

You would probably agree with me when I say first loves are rarely last loves.

Or, I could start at the beginning, and tell you our story.

There’s just one little problem: the more I think about Noah, the more certain I become that I’m marrying the wrong man.

Oh, boy. I think this is going to get messy.

This is such a sweet tale of magic. As teenagers, Ember and Noah fall in love. But fate has other plans. Their years-long story is so sweet that you might get a cavity.

Okay....I'm finally breathing normally again but I haven't stopped crying yet. It's been a long time since a story about young love affected me so totally. I know the magic that surrounded Noah and Ember from the start. The trials this couple endure would kill a weaker person. Sometimes self sacrifice is beyond stupid and chasing a maybe dream blows up in one's face. Not regretting a single moment I spent reading this book that will join my "to be read again" list.

Noah and Ember met in high school when he thought she was drowning and saved her. In the process, Ember teaches him do much more than he ever thought possible. The fact that they are from different walls of life doesn't stop them from falling in love. Unfortunately, chasing his dream will force them apart and in a must heartbreaking way.
Four years later, Noah returns home and sparks fly between them again. Now that they are older and wiser, can they figure things out, or are they destined to only live each other for minutes at a time? Their chemistry was off the charts. Their relationship was sweet, yet frustrating. They both had to go through some heart break and briefing pains in order to figure themselves out. When his career comes back, will it spell the end for good, or will Noah and Ember figure out how to be happy and in love?

This author can write a character. I also read this one in one day because it was good. I have enjoyed meeting all the ones she has come up with so far.

The first book was better for me. This one was still good but was not expecting how the book went.

This was still a live story but there was a lot of pain there too. You get to see them fall in love. Then you see them through the years. That was the hard part to read. I can say I have never read a book like this one.

It wasn’t perfect; in fact, it was frustrating as heck every time these 2 love birds decided to take the high road and set the other one free. They were so obviously soul mates that it was excruciating whenever they were apart. For that reason I almost quit reading it! However, because of the first chapter I knew they eventually got it right, so I persevered. The ending was worth the journey. I want more of these two! I wanted to see them happy and content. I want to see them years in the future with children. You hear that, Ms Millikan? This book spent most of the time with them apart. How about writing their future happy ever after story?

Gosh, what a heart breaking story, I needed a few tissues for this one. I had trouble putting this story down wondering how many sacrifices Ember was going to make and wanting to get to the part where Noah and Ember got their act together for the HEA they deserved.
