      The story pulled me in from the first, even though I wanted to smack Rory! LOL As I read on though, his troubles and why he felt the way he did were peeled back layer by layer. Both Rory and Athena has issues that they have to deal with and being fated mates, they are going to have to make it work? Can Athena make Rory understand that he means everything to her? This was a whole range of emotions and I found myself rooting for them like crazy!!! Ms. Burke does a fantastic job at writing shifter stories that you can fall into and not look up until your done!!

      Rory and Athena are fated mates, and meet at the most inopportune time. He’s got some making up to do to his mate.

      When I started reading this story it hooked me, the drama, the family secret, especially the family life Athena led. This storyline just pulled all the punches, from when Rory and Athena give in to their instincts, proving to each other that they are exactly what they need and worthy of each other.

      Rory doesn't think he is worth more than a quick screw. So meeting his mate at the exact wrong time does little to change his mind. Nevertheless he is determined to convince Athena to look past their initial meeting.
      I enjoyed getting to know Rory and Athena. Both of them had emotional scars. Both of them struggled to trust. Both of them had a warped view of themselves. Will fate show them the truth? Finding out was half the fun in this quick read by Lynn Burke. I enjoyed seeing Athena and Rory find their footing. In learning each other they learned about themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed their journey and am looking forward to where Ms. Burke will take us next.

      Oh, let me tell you this book is perfect, I lost some sleep to finished it. These two fated shifter mates couldn't be anymore different, Athena is reserved, stoic, quiet, she never raise her voice. You can guess who she ended up with😳yup, the playboy, the womanizer. He's not someone she ever thought would be her fated mate, but sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad, cause you never know how life will be if you don't trust and let go and Athena needed to let go to be free. It's why they're perfect for one another, they balance each other out completely, beautifully done author Lynn Burke🤍🖤🤍

      I love the Dark Leopards MC series! There is always a twisted plot with strong characters and juicy passion. Athena and Rory are fated mates, but have an awful first meeting. Athena stoically faces Rory and her inner beast roars to life while Rory tries to calm his urge to claim. It doesn't take long for the natural mating instinct to prevail and Athena and Rory become a force to be reckoned with as one.
