Metal Soul (Metal & Magic) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 230 ratings

Three men. One destiny.

Zeb hasn’t seen his brother since the war, and despite finding a place within the Warren pack and befriending his potential mate, he’s lonely.

Josh only wants to live up to the Warren name—to protect his pack and territory to the best of his ability. He keeps the secret that he’s been in love with his potential mate since they met close to his chest. Zeb made it clear he doesn’t think Josh is mature enough for them to be mates yet, and Josh has only been waiting for the chance to prove him wrong.

Neither man expects Seven—a man whose body and mind have been altered against his will. The secrets locked in Seven’s memories could be the key to saving Zeb’s brother and stopping a war before it starts. All they have to do is embrace the path fate has set before them and each other.

Metal Soul is the third novel in the Metal & Magic series, a dystopian urban fantasy romance. While each book contains an HEA, the main story line is ongoing. The series is best read in order.

Josh know they are mates but Zeb keeps pushing him away. While on the hunt to find Zeb’s brother they come across Seven/Fin. Their unexpected third mate. They just need to solve a few problems before they are able to set their bonds.

Another nice story in this universe. The characters are strong and well rounded. With a couple of new, interesting players added to the mix. Bad guys are still bad but the combined strengths of the other players just about outweigh their badness.

I liked this entry. Josh, Zeb, and Fin are definite keepers.

METAL SOUL continues the plight of the shifters in The Between and it does a good job of tying together book 1 and book 2. That being said, you should definitely read the other books in the series because it will make a lot more sense. Even having read the previous books, I still found it a little hard to remember all the details and keep all the characters straight as to how everyone knew each other, was related, or who belonged to which packs. If I had read these closer together in time it would probably have been easier. I also had a hard time distinguishing the voices of the three main characters since their POV chapters all sound exactly the same. Outside of that, I did like the characters and I'm invested in the mystery of the dragon, and the plan to stop the evil magician Nero. It's insta-love, as all the previous books have been, but I don't mind that and I enjoyed seeing Josh and Zeb finally give into their feelings and welcome Fin into that love.

Metal Souls brings readers back to the “Metal” part of the Metal & Magic series that began with Metal Heart. It wasn’t really clear exactly what the connection was between Shifting Shadows and Metal Heart – other than both books being set in the same world. That connection became clear at the end of Shifting Shadows but even more confusing for Zeb and Josh.

Josh and Zeb had spent years keeping their attraction and potential mate bond a secret from their pack, so when they both felt the pull toward Seven it made things even more complicated for the pair.

Of course the romance between this trio was front and center in Metal Soul, the real pull for me in this story was the world building and the mystery and connection between not just the main characters, but the group as a whole. The story was intertwined with the books that had come before and things were becoming more clear.

Lasting Light will bring all of these characters full circle and I can’t wait to see where the author takes them.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of Metal Soul. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Always great to read about characters that find love even in times of uncertainty. It’s been a bit since the last book in this series and it took a few minutes to orient myself back into this world. Sounds like the next one in the series may be the last, it’s Kova’s book.

These men were super sweet to watch! My heart went out to josh & zeb but when sev/fin came into the picture it all made sense! They were definitely meant for each other, they even each other out in different ways! I’m so glad we got more from all the others as well…Bram & Matty is one of my favorite couples and my heart wouldn’t have been able to take it if Bram died but I’m so glad they were able to save him! Kova & Eric coming home at the end was a sweet little treat, it’s kind of bittersweet knowing the next book will be the last of the series but knowing Michelle it won’t be the last we hear from this amazing group of people! Can’t wait! ❤️😀❤️😀

5.0 out of 5 stars Overall story is the best of world building

I hope that Zon doesn’t block my review for saying the same thing about this series but the world building is the best. I liked the change and the challenge of three in a relationship that this book has but at the heart of the book and on the minds of every character is what will happen and what’s up with the dragon.
