Moonlit Songs: A Fated Mates Paranormal Romance (The Fate of Dawngarde Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
I’m falling for the werewolf, but something lurks in murky waters… waiting to steal my heart.
The last thing I expected of my normal life was to stumble upon a realm called Dawngarde in the midst of a raging war between the protectors of the Land and Sea. This realm is unlike anything I’ve ever explored, and it calls to me with a beautiful melody, inviting me to uncover its secrets and soak in its beauty.
Dark forces, however, lurk in the shadows, threatening the harmony and stability of the realm. A target has been put on my back after coming face to face with these forces. Fearing for my safety, my life has been put in the hands of the werewolf shifters of the realm, and I must leave my life as I know it behind to enter Dawngarde.
Little did I know fate has plans for me, ones I cannot rewrite or avoid.
Unexplainable feelings stir me from within and have my heart yearning for the warmth and healing of two beings from within the realm. One touch from a broody werewolf named Xander Blackwood has electricity surging through me. Thea Terina, another being from the realm, captures me with the gleam of her emerald eyes, and my heart flutters at her proximity.
On this journey, I come to realize something powerful resides in my soul and spills into my blood. A prophecy is in the works, and somehow, the fate of the realm lies in my hands.
*Moonlit Songs is a full-length Greek mythology romance novel containing mentions of a sapphic romance involved in a polyamorous relationship and some light steam, such as a fade-to-black intimate scene.

About the author

For as long as she can remember, Antonella Sinner has always had a passion for reading. Growing up, she always asked herself what she wanted to be and has always answered with the same: a writer, creating and fabricating stories she so wishes she could find on shelves. Today she writes dreamy romances full of paranormal beings of all kinds with a few touches of spice here and there.
Born and raised in New York City, Antonella lives with her beloved furbabies, Juliet, the Shih Tzu she’s had since she was nine, and her recent adoption, Major, the spoiled brat of a Persian cat her family loves to call the Pharaoh of the block. When Antonella isn’t writing her next fantasy she’s either binging a TV show or nose deep in a fantasy romance book.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2023This is a great YA read set in an extraordinary world designed by this author. Sirens, werewolves, hidden realms, serial killers and a wonderful slow burn romance. Astrea Is an incredible character, quiet, resilient and strong but knows when to stand her ground and it’s been quite the journey for her. There’s chemistry, there’s friendship and I cannot wait to continue this adventure.

I’m going to preface this by saying this is not my normal genre to read but I went in with an open mind. It is most definitely catered to YA and a super slow burn. I adored how the author was descriptive with their world building. I could picture things playing out in my head. I did enjoy the story line and it was interesting with the LGBT friendly elements added in. Which, I haven’t read a lot of yet, but always looking to expand my book topics that I read. It was honestly a slow read for me, personally, I would have preferred for the story to move just a little bit faster. I absolutely adored the chemistry between Astrea and Thea, Xander, not so much 🫣😅 Charlotte and Astrea’s friendship had me giggling most of the time, that was a nice addition. This was definitely a nice little twist on a fated mate, werewolf romance. My only true complaint about this book is the super long chapters. And that’s just a personal preference 😅 I think this book would be a perfect fit for someone that is looking for a fantasy romance book with just a smidge of spice and build up. I’m excited to continue the series and see what happens in Book 2.
{This novel has LGBT-friendly elements (Bisexuality), mentions of polyamory (MFF), and sexual themes. Intended for 16+ readers!}

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2022An interesting read with fun characters and living with werewolfs and engaging with Sirens. What a mix. Loved the ocean scenes and Astrea's working with the dolphins.
Great beginning for other books in the series.

I tried to avoid spoilers beyond the synopsis provided by the author, but just to be safe, here’s the short and sweet: Reading this story was an absolute treat and I would recommended it to anyone who enjoys YA/NA, romance, fantasy, and Greek mythology. It is easy to follow and picks up fairly quickly after the initial world building. I cannot wait to get my hands on the sequel! Keep reading if you want to hear more!
Anotella Sinner’s “Moonlit Songs” is a both heartwarming and heartbreaking tale of loss, discovery, fantasy, and young love. We follow our heroine, 17-year-old Astrea Pine, as she is torn from everything familiar to her and thrown into a world of magic & monsters. Set in both the mortal world and the realm of Dawngarde, the reader is quickly immersed in the lore and wonder of some familiar (and less familiar) mythologies.
On top of having to learn the rules and limits of a completely new world, Astrea must also navigate her feelings between both love interests: Xander, a dark and brooding stranger whose innate need to keep our heroine safe at all costs, sometimes to her detriment, clashes with the ideologies of Thea, a beautiful and mysterious woman whose idea of protection includes encouraging Astrea to reach inside herself to harness her own power, whatever that may be.
And in the middle of all of it, our protagonist is thrust into a war between two magical forces that has taken the lives of many on both sides in the 100 years since it was first waged. But, who is the true enemy? And who can we trust when we only hear one side of the story?
What I absolutely love about this story is that almost every aspect of the set up is some sort of foreshadowing. There are so many call backs to references in the beginning of the book, I found myself thrilled with the validation of my suspicions and frequently found myself saying, “I knew it!” This is not to say that Sinner’s writing is predictable; in fact, there were multiple times I found myself surprised at the direction the story took.
I also love the romantic tropes, as many of them I have not seen before, or, not together, at least. If you have never read a romance with bisexuality, ESPECIALLY with the “why choose?” element, treat yourself to this book! You won’t regret it!
