Hoax knows two things very well.

    I am a huge fan of Lani Lynn Vale’s, and a large reason for that is because of this amazing fictional world she has built for her readers in Texas through many interconnecting stories and series and characters. With each new book she releases, Vale builds upon that community, and it’s resulted in an unparalleled reading experience, one unique to Lani. But what’s truly remarkable is how she’s written these stories in such a way that a new reader doesn’t have to go all the way back to the beginning – a daunting task for any reader when faced with a back catalog this large – and can jump in anywhere. Vale’s work is like a long-running soap opera, with a couple of spin-off shows, but in book form. As a reader who’s been reading her books since the very first one was released, I can unequivocally say that I’m hooked, and I cannot get enough of these characters, these places and their stories.

    Something else Vale does well is the way she writes about regular guys and everyday heroes. Firemen, police officers, paramedics and military men, Vale takes all of these complicated alpha types and pairs them with a perfect match. Her heroines are just as feisty and fierce as her men are alpha and possessive. My Bad brings together Pru, a nurse, with Hoax, a biker in the Bear Bottom Guardians and a man in the Army. These two had that instant crackle of attention that makes you sit up and take notice. Pru may have fought it a little at first, but Hoax didn’t have to work too hard to coax her out with him. They were so sweet, and from the minute they met, there wasn’t anyone else for either of them. There was a sweet feel to their romance, but that didn’t dampen the heat between them. There’s always a suspenseful edge to Vale’s stories, and she didn’t disappoint here giving her readers a creepy plot arc amongst a sweet and sexy romance.

    It wouldn’t be a story by Lani Lynn Vale without her fantastic sense of humor, and it peppers the pages throughout this book in new and thoroughly enjoyable ways. As the daughter of one of Lani’s founding couples, there was plenty of screen time with fan favorites Sam and Cheyenne, Pru’s parents, making this yet another winner in a series full of them. Five smooches from me for My Bad by Lani Lynn Vale!

    I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Lani Lynn Vale can do no wrong. From her funny chapter headings, to the glimpses from other couples in past stories, I’ve loved all of her books thus far and My Bad is no exception.

    Pru is wary of getting involved with military men but Hoax makes it extra hard to resist giving in and throwing out all her rules. The chemistry between the two is instantaneous, given the fact that he goes to the ER to try to fix his *cough* condition, and is immediately cured upon seeing Pru. Fight all she wants, he’s not letting her get away.

    Hoax is on temporary medical leave from Delta Force, a secret faction of the military, so to speak, and a bit of a nomad. But for the first time, on meeting Pru, he resents having to leave on a mission. They have a limited time together but he’s going to make every minute count in winning her.

    My favorite book in the Bear Bottom Guardians series, so far! Thank you for bringing back that Boomtown awesome-ness with Hoax & Pru's story, Lani Lynn Vale!!

    This book was exciting, funny, endearing & steamy. It brought back past characters who rocked my world from the first moment I read about them (ages ago!) & introduced me to some very memorable new ones. The main characters, Hoax & Pru, had dynamite chemistry together & felt like genuine, relatable people. I ADORED that about them!

    I felt like Pru & I were kindred spirits. We both don't like sweet & sour chicken, we both love Forged in Fire, we both think that waffles are just pancakes with abs & she named her babies Sam & Dean! (That last one maybe not on purpose but I'm counting it anyways because if my husband would've let me, I would've done the same thing.) Then throw in the part about how Hoax + Queso = A Dire Straits Situation... Gods, these are my people.

    So, so happy that Bayou's story, One Chance, Fancy, is up next because that means we should get more of that Boomtown awesome-ness! YAY!! #LetErRipPhoebe

    Hoax and Pru's story is one best. I truly enjoyed everything about this book. Loved the interaction with all the other characters from other books. Sam is wonderful and hopefully we'll get more of him in Pheobe and Bayou's book.

    I am a die-hard LLV fan. I've purchased and read everything this prolific, entertaining author has produced, and I've enjoyed every moment of the escapism she's offered. Unfortunately, while I have never really had a problem with the repeated plots and blurred timelines, I have found myself cringing a lot at the careless errors and character inconsistencies in her recent books. But with My Bad I found myself cheering for Lani herself as much as for Hoax and Pru! I'm so happy that this book truly reflects the quality of writing I fell in love with back when I was the only patient in the chemo day unit able to smile through my treatment. Lani Lynn Vale gave me that, keeping me company for 40 months of my cancer battle so far, and with this book's tight editing and character development I am now really excited about what's yet to come. Can't wait for Phoebe and Bayou's story!

    Welcome to Hoax and Pru's story. Since the very beginning of these books I have waited patiently for Sam and Cheyenne's kids stories to be written and I'm no disappointed with it at all. Pru so like her mother in looks and attitude is just brilliant to read. Hoax a military man like her father Sam is alpha and so sweet at the same time that you have to just love the man. Enter animals that make you laugh and a psycho doctor and we get a story that is just so good you can't put it down

    Hoax is still on medical leave after he was pushed off a road whilst on his bike. He walks into the ER one night and happens upon a nurse, who solves the reason he’s in the ER in the first place. He bumps into her again when he discovers she lives next door to his cousin Bayou and starts pursuing her. After a few weeks, Hoax and Pru are inseparable but for work Hoax has to leave and it can be for months on end. But Pru has a surprise for him and is waiting for him to come home to tell him❣️

    Loved this story and can’t wait to find out more about Pru’s sisters, Phoebe and Piper😍 An absolute must read series and author😀
