About the author

After teaching English literature in the UK, Japan and Malaysia, Helen Harper left behind the world of education following the worldwide success of her Blood Destiny series of books. She is a professional member of the Alliance of Independent Authors and writes full time, thanking her lucky stars every day that's she lucky enough to do so!
Helen has always been a book lover, devouring science fiction and fantasy tales when she was a child growing up in Scotland.
She currently lives in Edinburgh with far too many cats – not to mention the dragons, fairies, demons, wizards and vampires that seem to keep appearing from nowhere.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 20, 2024Such an amazing series. The worlds Helen creates makes you want to be part of it and keep reading u til you hit the end!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2020I can't give the review that I want to because it'll spoil the series for everyone else. Suffice it to say that some will win and some will lose. Even though the story is fictional, in the current political climate of the United States it's not hard to believe that the bad guys manipulate us all.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 8, 2022It seems like every time i want to reread a book its by Helen Harper. I originally read this series when it first came out. Ive been mulling over it for years, just couldnt stop thinking about it so I dug through my library and found it. It was still just as captivating as ever. Id forgoten alot of little details. I recommend a reread for everyone! DREAM
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2018I've listened too many of Helen Harper's books. This is the first of her series that I have read all of the books. I enjoyed it but found I like listening to her books more.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2017Helen Harper is an author with a fun imagination. As a rabid bibliophile, I enjoy all kinds of books. As a complete nerd, I really enjoy sci-fi. Ms. Harper creates vivid worlds that are fun to explore. Yes, sometimes it is clear where they are going, but it's still an enjoyable journey. One of the signs that the world she creates is great,is that part of you would really love to believe it is real. She also has a sense of humor. Read all her books. Support her exploration and creation of somewhere new. I need more books to read. Seriously.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2019A short series, but so well done. Tied up all the loose ends without any dangles and any quickness so you don't feel hurried Thank you for the ride. She had to make some hard choices with Dante and Adam though.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2019Really enjoyed this book. As usual, creative settings, fully developed characters, and plot twists. Watch out for The Chairman ❗ 😺 👮💔🙋

4.0 out of 5 stars Such an odd ending!
I liked the ending but it was odd to read a book where the heroine doesn't get her man lol. A refreshing change, I really liked this series, it wasn't my favorite of Helens work but it was a good solid story nonetheless!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hmmmm
The ending comes in a bit of a rush & seems a bit underdeveloped, but it is an end to a good series & most of what happens beforehand is just as good as the previous two books.

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I read all three in this series. I have to agree this story wasnt upto Helen Harpers normal high standards, i found the leading character bland at best, and still can not picture her in my minds eye, which normally HH superb writing normally achieves with ease. The story wasnt up my street. But it might be up yours!
