    Rhodelia and Varan

    An innocent Halloween party in Vegas, is the last place Rhodelia expects to be taken from, and she certainly doesn’t expect to find herself in another world as queen of the vampires.
    Paired with Varan, the prince who seems to hate her, and who is named King, they have to find a resolution for an illness that is impacting their Kingdom, and heal the wounds that were inflicted during the war fifty years before.

    This book is part of a multi-author series, and features just one of the heroines introduced at the beginning.
    Rhodelia is an enjoyable character to read, moulded by her lives, she has a strong personality, which is definitely needed in the trials she and Varan have to face.
    It’s interesting to see how she manages, and how she deals with Varna’s hostility.

    This was an enjoyable standalone story set in this world, with a satisfying resolution and a happy ending.
    It’s an entertaining read for urban and contemporary fantasy, or romantasy/PNR fans alike.

    Rhodelia was a nurse who worked hard and had a difficult time leaving her job at the office to have a weekend of fun, but her adopted sisters and she were hitting Vegas for Halloween. While there something crazy happened, a man she had been seeing in her dreams walked up and asked her to dance and then kidnapped her. The gorgeous man from Rhodes dreams took her to a place called Terrea that was on Earth, but through a portal that wouldn’t open for another fifty years. Oh, and the guy was a prince and he hates Rhodelia and by the was she is a reborn queen. Well, that was a shell shock, wasn’t it?

    Some of the people of very lovely to Rhode and actually treat her like a queen even if Prince Varan acts like he would rather have her dead. Apparently she was a very beloved queen who fought with her people against her own husband who was evil and also Varan’s father.

    There is great suffering among the people of Terrea and as Queen, Rhodelia wants to be involved in helping her people, but the new King Varan doesn’t seem to want to cooperate even though they seem to have a magnetic draw to each other.

    This was a beautifully built world and the bad guy is in the past mostly, but he was so bad! There is still evil afoot and Rhode and Varan will need to put their problems aside to solve the problems that have been hanging over the kingdom for fifty years.

    This was a great story that I very much enjoyed and I give it an enthusiastic five stars.

    In Of Blood & Nightmares by Chandelle LaVaun we first meet Rhodelia on vacation with her sister to celebrate their foster sister birthday for Halloween. While out at the club Rhode meets this sexy guy who captured her attention immediately. When this sexy stranger comes up to ask her to dance she gives him her hand and fallows him to the dance floor. After spending some time on the dance floor Rhode looks over to her table and notices that both of her sisters have disappeared. She immediately runs off the dance floor and goes in search for them only to end up getting kidnapped and thrown into The Veil into the realm of Terrea where everything changes. Gone is the ER nurse from Los Angeles and hello to the Vampire Queen of Terrea. Rhode has a lot of obstacles to overcome in the search to discover who she is in her new reality, and she’s finding help everywhere but from her soon to be King. Will Rhode and Prince Varan find a way to make things work or will he end up killing her. I guess that you will have to read Of Blood & Nightmares by Chandelle LaVaun to find out what happens. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

    The two are charged with finding out why their people are dying, and they have to work together.

    This world is so detailed and the lore is immaculate. I loved the way the vampires are written- they feel like a genuine people instead of mindless monsters.

    I cannot WAIT for the rest of the series
