Twenty-nine-year-old
Katie Kelly is at an all-time low. By now she was supposed to have the perfect relationship and her dream career – but her boyfriend left her behind to travel the world, she’s sleeping on a friend’s sofa, and she’s working a temporary job... that she’s been in for two years.

This is
not the life she dreamed of.

But with the help of Martha, an eighty-year-old who believes in living life to the absolute full, Katie is about to start again – to grab hold of life with both hands and give it a big shake up, starting with getting out of her dead-end job. When old flame, gorgeous
Ben Cole, unexpectedly reappears in Katie’s life, it seems like true love might be within reach too…

Soon Katie is on the cusp of getting everything she wanted: dream job, dream man, dream life. But can she really have it all?

A hilarious, heart-warming story full of romance, friendship and laughs. If you like Lindsey Kelk, Marian Keyes or Cate Woods, you need to read Colleen Coleman!

I don't know why books like this are labelled comedy when there was absolutely no laughing, only crying at some rough points. It was a very good book, and I enjoyed it. I will purchase more books by this author...maybe right now. :)

I did enjoy this book but don't recall one laugh. Some joyful passages but not funny. Lots of dedication to their life purposes and good life lessons on what's important. Lots of wonderful foods. Nice ending.

Just started this book. Reviews stated it to be a laugh out loud book. I'm only on the 4th chapter but its taking effort to stay focused on reading this book so far. I didn't realize its written by a Brit and contains British references and British speak. Not saying thats a bad thing. Just taking a bit to get used to it.

I really enjoyed this book! I didn’t find it hilarious, but reading about Katie’s roller coaster ride through this chapter of her life left me dreading the final chapter and wanting the author to write a sequel. I love how the author brings the reader’s focus to what is really important- caring for others and oneself. I don’t typically spend much on ebooks, but this was Well Worth it and I look forward to reading more from this author!

This was a sweet story with a very likable heroin. It was well written and had a believable plot that wasn't too predictable. I kept wanting for the 'laugh out loud' moments and they never arrived. This was a great story, but not a romantic comedy as such. I was looking for something with humor when I picked it up, and felt the title was a bit misleading.

I selected this book as a summer read for my book club. I was expecting a romantic comedy and I got that, but so much more.
I loved getting an inside view to the life of a dedicated chef and I appreciated the deeper level of everyday life issues that we all have experienced. I loved how the author talked about the stress we put on ourselves, which can then cause us to lash out at other people. I don’t want to spoil the book but it is a must read! You won’t be disappointed

I so appreciate this author and her work. This is the third book of hers that I've read in the last few weeks! However, as I was reading, all I could think about was how this book was a total knock off of Gordon Ramsay's work. Everything from the signature dish challenge, the mystery box challenge of the potatoes, the watch it/taste it/make it palate challenge, and the final showdown of the top 3 contestants and their own menu. To top it off, the winner is the "grand chef" and Gordon's winner is MasterChef! The storyline was wonderful, but it seemed to entirely rely on the work of Chef Ramsay, so I was indeed disappointed.

While there were no real laugh out loud moments ... maybe I’m not reading it right, it was a great read and something to warm the heart. It was a light hearted feel good happy ending romantic novel. Worth the read.

This was a pleasant short easy read.
It felt like I was reading a Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen type story as I watch a lot of those sorts of programmes! The challenges she had to face to get the dream job were very similar to those in the programme, so I was chuckling along and was imagining it in the kitchen in the programme.
Not much else to say really it was very enjoyable and I will be picking up Colleen Coleman’s other books at some point in the future!

Easy to read, lot of information about being a "chef" ...quite realistic. The love story a little bit too predictable and dull.
