About this audiobook

A heartwarming novel about family, friendship and finding your roots from RITA® winner, M. MALONE. The first book in a USA Today bestselling series.

Ridley Wells is done with men.

All she wants is to focus on her dream of opening her own nursery but she has the opposite of a green thumb when it comes to love. She’s always been the “good twin” who played by all the rules waiting for Prince Charming to show up. Instead she is currently in hiding from her latest case of bad judgment.

So when there’s a teeny tiny case of mistaken identity, for once she decides to do the “wrong” thing.

Starting over was supposed to be simple, but Mr. Wrong turns out to be a grumpy single-dad with two highly energetic little boys. She was supposed to disappear and start a new life but suddenly she’s wrapped up in a small town that feels more like home than any place she’s ever been and walking in her sister’s shoes feels more like living than hiding in plain sight. Between two adorable kids and their misunderstood and distrusting father, Ridley isn’t sure who will steal her heart first. But one thing is clear, love can never bloom in the midst of lies.

And when her past comes for her, she can only hope her newfound roots are strong enough to hold her down.

I read the prequel and liked that, but this was disappointing.
The reason why the heroine decides to pretend to be her sister is paper thin (the bad guys could just as well go after her sister to find her, so now she's also endangering her sister).
In the first half of the book nobody notices she's not her sister and imo that's a miracle as she's forever saying things which make it abundantly clear she's someone else.
The writing is enjoyable, but too many things didn't work for me.

This was the first audiobook I've listened to by M. Malone, and it blew me away. (I did read the prequel Teasing Trent or Birthday Cake, which was also awsome). I absolutely loved this story and I'm looking forward to reading (or listening to) more of M. Malone's work. I also really enjoyed Eva Kaminsky's excellent narration. Although I do prefer dual narration for dual POV audiobooks, Eva did a great job with all characters.

3 out of 5 stars. I liked it. It was sweet, erotic, and funny at times. Yet, I though I'm happy about the HEA I really didn't like what happened between Jackson and Ridley for them to get to that point.

I very much enjoyed this book. I had read Teasing Trent some time ago, so had a passing aquaintance with the Alexanders. They seem to be a very loving family, most of the time. Nick makes me wonder. He seemed dead set on ruining Jackson's relationship because of his own failed relationship with Ridley's sister.

I get why Ridley lied, I do, but...then when Jackson simply wouldn't believe her because Nick said so...did not sit well with me.

This however is the sign of a good author that she got me so involved in the story that I found myself happy when RidJack were happy and angry at Nick for being a collosal jerk.

If you want a fun and enjoyable read, defintely give this a go, and then finish it out with the rest of the series. I will be slowly working my way through them.

I rcvd this book in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley. This story follows Ridley as she is escaping a dangerous situation. She seek solace in her twin sister Raina only to find her sister isn't home. In steps the hero Jackson Alexander. Who wouldn't love the Alexander men!But when you start out a relationship with lies nothing can go well....This book has a lot of emotional twists and turns, with some I felt were predictable. I did enjoy the book and will possibly read on in the series.

LOVED THIS BOOK!! I fell in love with all the characters. The emotions they went through I went through them also. There were times I could feel my heart race or even skip a beat. Great read and look forward to many more of the authors works.
