I honestly can’t get enough of this series. There has not been one Carolina Comets book I haven’t loved. When the opportunity arose to review this audiobook, I had to jump on it even though I had already read the book. With the right narrators, an audiobook can be a whole new experience. Hollis meets Lowell at her sister’s wedding to his teammate, Collin. She’s fresh off a nasty divorce and when he sees how sad she looks, he can’t help but strike up a conversation. By the end of the night, they decide that what they both need is one night together, no strings attached…and nothing more. As it goessssss, Hollis finds herself staring at the business end of a positive pregnancy test a couple months later. When she tells Lowell that he’s the dad, he is completely shocked. He has a muddied past with an ex that did him very dirty, so he is apprehensive about believing her. This results in the funniest scene you’ll ever read…and Lowell with more black eyes than he knows what to do with, courtesy of his own teammates. Literally, I listened to it twice and almost peed my pants both times. Once Lowell gets his head on straight, he decides to be present for Hollis’ pregnancy. The more he tries to take care of her, the more her heart softens for him. I don’t care what any of you say…surprise pregnancy is the superior trope. I will die on this hill. I ADORED these narrators. I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better Hollis and Lowell if I had tried. Callie Dalton and Tim Paige have the best rom-com chemistry…even though I know they didn’t record together. Doesn’t matter. I love them and I wish they were MY parents. (Seriously guys. Adopt me.)

    Hollis is dealing with thr hurt of a cheating husband and Lowell doesn’t so relationships because of a lying woman. Learning she is pregnant from a one niignt stand leaves bath of them realing.

    This was one of the strangest meeitings I have ever read.they deal with the situation differently. I love the banter. Hollis is strong and can do this alone but Lowell is excited to become a Dad,The story linewas good and I love the way it was written. the characters weere easy to like. I recommend this.

    4 stars just because I personally don’t like the accidental pregnancy trope and usually would give less but the story was very cute and they both seemed like reasonable (albeit broken) adults and didn’t act like crazy people half the time.
    I want to give 5 stars but I had to stop a lot since I’m child free (and intend to stay that way) and there was only so much pregnancy I can read about in a day. So 4 stars which is the highest I’ve ever given EVER to a pregnancy trope book (at least this one I knew it was accidental pregnancy - half the time it’s like SURPRISE PREGNANCY sneaking up on you when you least expect it)

    One-Timer is the 3rd book in Teagan Hunter’s Carolina Comets series and is my fav in the series so far! This is a contemporary, hockey romance series and this one is a one-night stand turned surprise pregnancy that really worked for me!

    Hollis and Lowell run into one another in a parking lot, she accidentally slaps/hits him, and then they start arguing. She’s there for her sister’s wedding and thinks he’s trespassing since he obviously doesn’t belong. Then her sister comes over and says they’re both in the wedding party and going to be walking down the aisle together! Hollis’ sister is Harper and his teammate is Collin (the couple of book 2).

    I loved the setup of this one, the hateful banter at first that then leads to a hookup at the wedding! Hollis went through a divorce earlier in the year and was definitely not expecting to find out she’s pregnant from her one-night with Lowell. Since Lowell is her new brother-in-law’s teammate, it is easy to track him down when she finds out she’s pregnant from their hookup. I feel like surprise pregnancy rarely works for me but for some reason if it’s a one-night stand that leads to it, then I really love it! I love seeing the hero and heroine trying to make it work and learn more about one another as they go. I liked seeing Lowell, who always wanted to have a family of his own, go all in with the planning for their baby. He definitely has some hang-ups to overcome but I liked how it all played out!

    After reading and enjoying the first two books in this series (Shy puck and Blind pass), I was really looking forward to reading this one ‘One-timer’. Just like the first two stories, this was a light and fun story.

    The main characters in this story are Hollis Kelly and Cameron Lowell. Cameron is the captain of the hockey team Carolina Comets (he was a secondary character in the previous two books too, in those stories we got to know him as a serious and private person). Hollis is a new character, she’s Harper’s older sister (Harper was the main character in ‘Shy puck’). Hollis and Cameron meet each other for the first time on Collin and Harper’s wedding. That meeting doesn’t go very well but somehow they still end up in bed together (at the end of the wedding day). Both aren’t looking for a relationship, Hollis just got divorced from her cheating husband and Collin is known for only having one-nightstands. So it’s a great surprise (and shock) when Hollis discovers that she’s pregnant after that night. She decides to keep the child and to tell Cameron that he will be a father. Cameron is shocked by this news but just like Hollis he accepts that his life will change in a way he didn’t expect. Now both he and Hollis are preparing to become parents. They spend a lot of time together, so much so that their family and friends think that they are in a relationship.
    Hollis wants one but Cameron is unsure, he’s still hurt about something that happened in his past. Will Cameron realize his feelings for Hollis on time or will he lose her by pushing her away?

    I love reading hockey romance stories and the writer Teagan Hunter wrote a great hockey series where you can read about the good and bad days of these NHL players. The stories are entertaining, the interactions between the guys are amusing and the texting between the couples are funny. The girls and the guys are loyal and supportive towards each other and I really like that.

    Hollis was a great character, she recently got divorced and was still hurting but she did her best to be happy for her younger sister who’s getting married. I can understand why she wasn’t so nice to Cameron the first time they met. And yes, she was emotional when she discovered that she’s pregnant but she did the right, mature thing, she told Cameron and she’s honest all the time and she really tried her best to involve Cameron in the pregnancy. Hollis was a great character.
    That being said, I was a little disappointed in Cameron’s character. I can totally understand why Collin and Rhodes punched him a few times, he deserved it. I was sorry to see that he let his doubts and fear of getting hurt emotionally make him do dumb things. I expected more of his character (but that’s my own personal view). Although he did some good things too, he was thoughtful and responsible at times. He was a good person, it was just that in this story Hollis was the strong and brave one. Cameron was very lucky to have her. The story was told in both POV’s and there were a few sex scenes in it.

    The guys and the girls of the previous books played a huge part in this story. They supported Hollis and Cameron very much. They were a fun group.

    I really liked the epilogue in this story.

    This was a new trope for this author I believe, and I really think she nailed it. It feels like these books are getting better and better each time around and the author is really finding her voice and style more and more. Her books were always good, but with this series they just keep getting better than good and a five star rating almost doesn't feel like it's enough anymore.
    The book was very realistic and even though it's a well known trope, Teagan Hunter really gave it an original twist I think.
    It was a fast and easy read, I enjoyed it immensely and loved every single thing about it. I was hooked from page one and couldn't let go, even long after reading the last page. The characters were well written and very lovable and realistic because of all their flaws. Don't have a single bad word to say about this one. I definitely would recommend it and can't wait for the next one!
