Aside from taking twice as long to arrive as typical orders, the book arrived HEAVILY wrapped in plastic... which I've never seen before. After opening, I found the book in awful condition! The spine is busted, stains all underneath the slip cover... and weirdly, it smells. And not in a fun 'new book' kind of way. Disappointed, to say the least.
Recommended to me from our CEO when I took a new position, this book helps to provide a framework for starting a new position and taking action with purpose. It helps to sort out the chaos of a new role and devise a plan to make the most short and long-term impact on you, your team and your stakeholders. Easy read, take lots of notes and best of luck in your career journey!
This book encourages a ton of prep before starting a new job and that just isn’t possible sometimes. Unlike other books of its type, it does offer practical advice for how to proceed if you don’t have tons of pre-start prep time. I found it helpful as an experienced manager who switched jobs after many years to a new company and needed a refresher on starting over.
A great resource when you're considering what to train and when to train people newly promoted to a people-manager position. Great justification for getting people training ASAP because those first 90 days can make or break their career at your company! Used research and principles from this book to gain executive support as part of a management training program initiative. I listened to the audiobook while gardening and found it easier going than the text, which I used when I wanted a reference.
The first 90 days have come and gone and I found it difficult to set aside the time to read this book. It’s ok (1/2 way through) but lacks immediate concrete tips. More philosophical. I would recommend you read before the first 90 days……between hire and first day.
Three different advisors recommended this book to me before I started my new job. The first 90 days helped me maximize my learning, focusing on the right things, not everything. In particular, I liked Ch 3 match strategy to situation, which was an aspect of onboarding I had not considered before.
El contenido es lo importante, sin embargo la calidad del papel y el encuadernado, da la impresión de que compré un libro pirata. Creo que Amazon debe vigilar la calidad o la fuente de los productos que distribuye.
