    Zora has purchased a condo in the new building being constructed down the street. She walks by daily to 'check on progress'. One day Rocco, the Nasty Small Poodle, pulls the leash from her hand and slips past the locked fence to chase an interesting smell. Zora manages to slip into the site and track Rocco down, only to find him in an unfinished closet, digging at the recently poured floor. Looking around Zora notices strange lumps in the floor. She finds a shovel and digs a bit until she realizes she is looking at the toes of a pair of shoes.

    Lots of suspects and plot twists fill 'Poodle Versus the Mob' as do great characters and a very well told story. I can't wait to start the next book in the series. I would recommend it to mystery readers who like a bit of laughter, interesting plotting and no graphic sex or violence.

    Zora is excited to watch as the construction of the Mews progresses. She can hardly wait for her December move to her new condo. When she and Rocco discover a body on the construction site it doesn't bode well for an on-time completion anymore unless she and her staff at the newspaper can solve the murder.

    Rocco is an adorable little tyrant! This is an enjoyable cozy with a good mystery and believable characters. I especially like how Zora finds humor in situations even if it is at her own expense. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
