    This is the fifth book in this series. Jamie is the brother that doesn’t want anything to do with the club and the things that come with it. Isabelle is on the run. She thought she had a met a wonderful man who loved her instead she just met someone who decided that she fit the mold of the type of woman he needed. It didn’t take long for the hurt to start. Jamie knows that Isabelle is hiding something but he wants to get to know her anyway. He finds her and her sister interesting. Jamie is determined to get Isabelle to let him and to let him be with her. He doesn’t care that that means her sister coming with them on dates or being involved all the time. He figures she will tell him what she is ready. Jamie has his own issues to work though. Will he be able to protect Isabelle and her sister? This relationship may bring him closer to his brothers and their club. Could it show him that the club isn’t all that bad after all? Wonderful job Kathleen. I love this series and all her books really. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. Great job Kathleen.

    I do not consider this to be a stand-alone read, as there are reoccurring characters, overlapping / consecutive timelines and overarching themes. I highly recommend these be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers.

    Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as kidnapping / abduction, torture, fighting, domestic violence, rape, mental and physical assault, murder, threats, betrayal, etc.

    There are grammatical issues throughout, mainly misspellings, typos, and an incorrect word choice.

    I gave this 4 1/2 stars because the majority of this story is about Isabelle’s courtship, marriage and escape from her husband in Chicago. The first mention of Jamie and the MacKenny brothers doesn’t even occur in the first half of the story, he is first mentioned at 52%.

    I understand why Kathleen Kelly used the majority of the story to build the background of “Belle”, but some of this could have been consolidated. I think the reader, myself included, would still care about her and would buy into / be invested in her getting away.

    In this story, Isabelle is mentally and physically abused by her husband. She ignored all of the warning signs and then he uses threats to her family to keep her in line. With the help of friends, she is able to escape with her sister (who has a mental disability). Isabelle purchases a bakery in a small town. After she has been there for about 3 months, she meets Jamie and other members of the MC, when she delivers a special ordered cake from the brother Angus.

    Angus knows right away that Isabelle is special and is someone he wants to get to know better. Unfortunately she has placed him squarely in the friend zone. After he visits with her a few times it is apparent that someone has hurt her in the past.

    Can Jamie show her that she is special to him and earn her trust? Or, is her past too much for anyone to overcome? Has she done enough to stay hidden from Chase?

    Kathleen drew me in from the very start with Isabelle and Jamie's story. My heart hurt for her after all she endured at the hands of her no good husband. I loved Charlotte and the relationship she has with not only her sister and Jamie, but Cutter as well. Jamie showed Isabelle how a man should treat a women and I'm so happy they found each other. I can't wait to read Lochlan's story because after that epilogue I have a feeling were going to see him on his knees begging for forgiveness.
    P.s. I absolutely love the cover of this book.
