Pascal and The Forger: A Second Chance M/M Romance Kindle Edition
They used to have it all. Until they didn’t. Now, one man wants another chance to make things right, while the other doesn’t know if he can risk his heart again.
As head of the Haitian mafia, Mathieu Pascal is dangerous, ruthless, and cold-hearted. He’s also alone, but there’d been a time when he had love. With one careless decision, he betrayed the one man who ever mattered to him. He has no right to forgiveness, but he’ll do anything to prove he deserves it.
Win Beltran was at his lowest when he met Mathieu Pascal. He took the freedom the other man offered and in return, handed over his heart. He thought he was safe…until Mathieu destroyed him. Years later, Win has moved on. At least he pretends, because even though he’s married to Mathieu’s rival, his heart has only ever belonged to the one who broke it.
Their shared secrets keep Win and Mathieu tied to each other as the heat of their tumultuous chemistry melts their weak resistance. But an invisible hand is orchestrating a war, and Mathieu’s enemies are drawing closer. To protect Win, he’ll burn the world to the ground as they fight for their lives and their hearts.
This is the story of Pascal and The Forger from DIG YOUR GRAVE (STANIEL #2). It can be read as a standalone and features all the second-chance, angsty, pining, groveling, jealous, possessive, secrets and lies, sexy goodness you can stand.

About the author

A Grenadian transplant, Avril now lives in Tucker, GA, with a madly tolerant husband. Together they raise an eccentric daughter who’s pretty meh about reading and school. Avril’s earliest memories of reading revolve around discussing the plot points of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys with an equally book-minded mother.
Always in love with the written word, Avril finally decided to do the writing in August of ’09 and never looked back. She’s been nominated for numerous awards, including Best Author, Best series (Brooklyn Sinners), and Favorite All-Time Author. In 2013 Avril won Evernight Publishing’s Reader’s Choice Award for the LGBT (Male/Male) category. Recently she took home the Golden Ankh award for best Male/Male romance for her bestselling novel, Sinner’s Fall.
Addicted to cake, the ID Channel, and the UFC, Avril writes Gay and Erotic Romance with happy endings; she remains a believer of love in all its forms.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2023Pascal and Forger were everything one expects from an Avril Ashton book. The action, the steamy times, but also the pain and healing that her characters go through. The twists and the turns kept coming, but just when you think you've figured it out, there's another one. After meeting Pascal in Bishops book it didn't seem as if he had any redeeming qualities but that is the joy of reading this authors books is that you can forgive almost the most hated character once you understand what drives them to be the way they are. Pascal shouldn't have under the circumstances gotten a second chance from Win, but you can't help but feel they deserve one. Win thought he he could escape the hurt and betrayal from Pascal only to find himself in a situation with more hurt and betrayal. Stravos and Daniel are always great to have in a story. This book and every linked series from this author gives you a HEA with the MCs, but you know another linked story isn't far away. Bring on Jairo!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2023The author has delivered another great gangster/mm romance that was a real page-turner. But there remain too many unanswered questions. Who was the "asian" that wanted the numbers Jairo gave Win? Why would Jairo fake his death and lose all his businesses? This was a great book but please, I hope there is a sequel that will answer these questions and others.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2023Avril Ashton does morally gray characters like no one else, and Pascal is no exception. I absolutely love the way she brings characters to life. Pascal has no qualms about doing what needs to be done, especially when it comes to protecting what’s his. Win and Pascal are the perfect compliments to each other. Both have committed some pretty egregious sins against the other, but they can’t help but be drawn back together. The story is a roller coaster with a whodunit element to it. Enemies lurk around every corner. It’s a perfect blend of intrigue and angst with plenty of spice thrown in. It was awesome seeing Stavros and Daniel again. (And was that Tek?!) Avril creates such magic within this bigger world. I can’t wait to see what else awaits these characters in Miami.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2023I’m disappointed in what this book gave. I found it underwhelming and too short with a lack of build up to the forgiveness and a terrible explanation for why he cheated. I really hated it. I want to give this a one star based on how much I hated it but I like the author so I’ll just suffer in silence.
The point of this book was basically to show us how terrible of a person Pascal is and how badly he treats Win, the man who he’s supposed to love.
If there was anything else, I missed it.
I wanted love and passion and what I got was a book about a man who should have never gotten back with his ex.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2023This book, these characters and Avril's world is in one word ADDICTIVE! You love and hate these characters at the same time. Pascal and The Forger is a full body experience. You want to choke Pascal and at the same time you understand his choices and where he was coming from. You hurt for Win and at the same time you want to advice him to do better. This story was a great rollercoaster ride that I did not want to end. Thank you again Mrs. Ashton for inviting us to experience your genius. Now if we could just get that Chantal and Aleks story and perhaps the Jason and Samirah stories, alas girl can dream!!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2023Yes! Just yes!! Just read it!!!! You will say the same if you like dark . I gave 4 stars because the sex was to "light"....net enough darknes in the act....
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2023Avril Ashton writes the kind of books that once you pick it up you don’t want to put it down. I read this book in a day and a half. Mathieu is ruthless except when it comes to Win, the man who has hit heart in a chokehold. For him he’d go to war and back and Wins love for him is just as fierce. This book had everything and I didn’t want it to end.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2023I am obsessed with all of these couples . I’ve liked Pascal since I first read about him and knew that his story was going to be interesting . I liked Win , I don’t agree with some of his actions, but I definitely understand them . Pascal needed to learn his lesson lol . I can’t wait to see what happens next . 👀

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping
I am a huge fan of Avril Ashton’s writing, I am completely invested in the interconnected world of crime, violence, passion, loyalty, betrayal and unshakeable love that she builds with her books. The cross over plot lines and characters are sublime and completely immersive. I’ve had this book on my kindle since I finished the Staniel Duet and I finally got a chance to read it and I am not kidding when I tell you I was blown away. Ashton takes her time laying out their past from the beginning, till a complex picture of lost love emerges.
The layers and secrets piled one on top of the other are phenomenal in their reveal, keeping me on edge as the situation reveals itself to be far more complicated than anticipated, mix in the emotional devastation that both Mathieu and Win have been living with and it’s a jagged, explosive, gripping journey to go on.

3.0 out of 5 stars My issues with the book was within me
Mathieu, I did not like, it was like Win was second prize because he couldn’t have Bishop. The excuse why he cheated on Win with Bishop was flimsy at best. Again my issue because I hate any cheating and there is warnings before you read. But still didn’t get a love connection between the 2 MC’s.
Win was a good character, but a weak man for believing Mathieu was sorry.
Jairo I loved and want his story, he and Win made sense and could of worked together. So fingers crossed he gets his story.
Story was okay, Mathieu is a weak leader with unloyal followers. Daniel and Starvos are in the book so has to be okay.(love them). You never found out certain things like what were Jairo’s businesses and how Daniel and Stravos got them.
But would still read.
