Perfect Score (Easton U Pirates Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 351 ratings

Walking in on my best friend mid-hookup isn’t supposed to turn me on, but it’s only sex, right? Finding intimacy is a bit discouraging with a neurological disorder that affects my legs. But Elliot gets it—gets me. He’s my ride or die and always supportive. Always protective too. Not because he thinks I’m incapable, but because he cares.

When I invite him to my brother’s wedding, he becomes the ultimate date. And when we decide to blow off a little steam with each other, I’m trusting it won’t ruin our friendship.

Except it becomes more than jerking off after late-night study sessions…more than innocent touches, kisses, and sleeping in each other’s arms.

Falling for my best friend is scary, but Elliot checks all my boxes, the perfect score that was right in front of me all along.

**Perfect Score is a low-angst, best-friends-to-lovers romance and a complete standalone in the Easton U Pirates Universe.

Meh. When I saw a new book was released I reread the first two books to jog my memory then tucked into this one. I was immediately thrown since it became apparent that this book has nothing to do with the Pirates baseball team or with anybody we’ve met before. Since it’s a series, I assumed we’d get a story about another teammate or anyone who had been introduced in a previous book. Nope! The previous characters are there as filler. Basically the only connection is one of the MCs once sort of played baseball with one of the players. What? This is not what I signed up for. These MCs could have been on any college campus or written into any universe, so why’d they have to be dropped into this one? Disappointed there wasn’t a real connection to the series - this is a bit of a reach.

I also didn’t like the friends-to-lovers storyline because the first several chapters show how good of friends they are. There’s no longing or pining or even a smidge of attraction. In fact, they go out of their way to tell us how not romantically attracted they are and how the one time they kissed it felt so wrong they burst out laughing. So I was hoping another character would be introduced or at least a third, but nope. They just randomly get together but at that point I wasn’t into either of them because they’re just a couple of random college students. One is vaguely a nerd and one is vaguely a jock, I guess, but that’s not even really explored. Basically their attraction is that one guy has a disability and low-self esteem and the other guy stands up for him and tells him he’s great. Then they fall in love. ??? Again, no reason for this to be in the Easton U/Pirates universe at all except I guess the author doesn’t have to think up any other supporting characters. Blah. Disappointed to re-read the other books just to get to this one.

Best friends find love from the beginning at there first kiss. Just think they departed to different schools if there love would be so strong for each. They both found the love they were looking for

This novella was the perfect length. I felt like we got the entire story and I wasn't left wishing it was longer, which is the case for a lot of novellas for me. I love a friends to lovers story, and I thought the disability rep was well done. It was sweet to see the the way that Elliot cared and looked out for Morgan while still allowing him to have his independence and not seeing him solely in the lense of the limits of his disability.

Elliot and Morgan were just perfect in every way for each other. This was low angst medium spice and all the cuddles you need. It’s just two best friends realising what everyone knew, that they belonged together 💖💖💖
