Havoc Killed her Alpha: A Why Choose Omegaverse Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 3,757 ratings

Never again will I be that little girl who dreamed of a pack to sweep her off her feet...

I'm the omega who killed my alpha.

The day I found my mates, I thought I'd found my home at last. Instead, I was kept from them and left to suffer. For months I clung to scraps of information, and I fell in love with each of them… Angel, Kai, Caspian and Bane.

But when my worst nightmare came, I faced it alone.

Found beside my alphas body, my pack has claimed me at last. But they're too late. Now I’m trapped in their home with them. My mates. But there’s no happily ever after, because it won’t matter to them if I had a choice or not. The man I killed was their pack brother, and they hate me for what I've done.

And it’s up to these four men to decide my fate...

This is a spicy adult standalone HEA where the Havoc doesn't have to choose between lovers (MMFMM).
It contains dark themes, adult language, intimidation, violence, and triggering situations
detailed in front of the book. For mature readers.

Gripping New Omegaverse

Gripping New Omegaverse
The book hooked me from the first page and did not let me go until the last, then I promptly downloaded and read the bonus story ‘Havoc: Valentine’s Battle’ because I wanted more! This book is a stand alone story in a new omegaverse world. I really enjoyed the way the world and the story developed. We come in right after our FMC, Havoc, has killed her alpha (all in the title) and we, as the reader, get to see the story unfold from multiple perspectives and memories of the past, as we pick up the intricacies of the world building along the way. Also the the audiobook version is fantastic!

I was introduced into this amazingly twisted and new vision of how an omegaverse would turn out when I got my hands on the Sweetheart duet. I was so entranced by its unique outlook, the heart-rendering outcome, and everything in between. As soon as Shatter's story came out, I had to rush over and finish that amazing piece too, so goooood!

But despite reading these two fantastic tales in the PoisonVerse, I couldn't get myself to read Havoc's story. I was honestly stricken by the fact that it may mot be as gripping as the two I had already read, perhaps lack the strong pull that I already experienced, seeing a it was older in the storytelling collection and I couldn't imagine quite where it may take me.

Finishing it today was a treasure in itself. Marie Mackay is a phenomenal writer. Just like the others, this lulled me into a transe of excitement and mystery. It had its own toxic feel that was gently smoothed out by so much love and care. The nuturing of a bond that held so many secrets. The incredible characters (Kai is my all-time fave 😉) and their backstorues gave a depth that connected so much of everything going on.

I hope there is a book involving Viper, the amazing Alpha that helped Havoc, and I hope that perhaps we get to find out more about her brother. I look forward to many more works from Marie Mackay.

I really waffles between 3 and 4 stars for this story. Finally decided it was fair to go with the higher of the two ratings, though if it were possibly I would have gone for 3.5.

Overall this was a pretty good story and one of the handful of omegaverse stories I have actually finished. Most are so terribly written I can’t seem to get beyond a handful of chapters. I almost quit because the beginning was not well written, though thankfully it got better.

    The good:

Unique and interesting storyline, memorable and mostly likable characters with decent, if not fantastic character development, and the relationship development wasn’t bad. I also love that the heroine managed to be tough when she needed to, but otherwise was vulnerable, approachable character who I could emotionally connect with.

    The bad:

Not enough information. This was hands down the worst aspect of this story. The author was very stingy on the details and often mentioned incredibly important information in passing without elaborating, and that drove me crazy. The worst was taking over half the book to explain why there is a biological consequence for not registering (which I assumed was just paperwork) within a year. I was so confused.

The lack of information also happened in other ways, like the author being to vague about events. For instance, it took a while to figure out where they were after the first scene. I was like where are they? What happened? How did they get there? Some of it was finally answered, but even then I was still left wondering stuff like how did she have her stuff without Angel seeing her prayer angel and photo and her being out of it? That made no sense because he brought her home.

And were some of the guys different races? I felt like it was super vaguely hinted at, but if they are, why not just come out any say it? Nothing wrong with that at all. It would have helped me visualize the characters better.

The story was also rather rushed. With such a complex story, I think moving slower and giving more detail would have done this book a lot of good. It could have been Lola or Pack Darling good, and they are both some top omegaverse reads.

Hopefully future books will build upon this one. I will definitely give the next book in this series a try, though I wasn’t impressed with the way this one ended with a hook. Would have been better to not do that.

Havoc is like any other omega she just wants to find her pack. Unfortunately for her, her father doesn’t believe that sending omegas for school is smart and she becomes part of what is known as a gold omega. One of her alphas finds her and she thinks it will lead to her happily ever after but Logan is just shy of a psychopath and spends months essentially grooming her.

She finds a way to be free and the rest of her pack not understanding her choices still take her in but reject her. Slowly she reveals herself and one by one they change their minds about her.

My. Freaking. Goodness. This book had me clutching my pearls. Screaming for them to just have a conversation! Logan was way too good at what he did unfortunately and Havoc was so convinced they could never want her, never believe her.

Kai stole my attention immediately. He was rough around the edges and saw the work in black and white but she brought him color.

Angel seemed to be the most level headed so his rejection hurt quite a bit. But he also saw that maybe there was more to her and his experience with Kai helped him to help her.

Bane was my favorite. I love a gentle giant and seeing the parallels between the two of them was beautiful. A snuggle with that man sounds wonderful.

Caspian hurt the most. He was so far gone under Logan until everything was revealed but I wanted to choke him. However his turn around was the most sacrificial and the most beautiful.

I love OV but rejected mate is my favorite sub trope and this one was done so very very well. I hope there’s more! This is my first book by this author and I’m insanely impressed!

This book drops you right into Havoc having killed her alpha … Logan, and the story unfolds as the book goes along. And just wow … the ride was unique and so well done.

Havoc is sweet and naive, and her scent matched mates all gave their own interesting back stories.

What Marie did with the character of Logan was absolutely brilliant. She created one of the most devious and manipulative characters ever.

Vipers story will be so good 😈😈

Firstly, I adored the content warning. It was super cute and different.

Wow. What an absolutely amazing Omegaverse book! First time reading this author and it won't be the last.

Downloaded the book not even 24 hours ago and I've already finished. I couldn't stop reading. Literally if I couldn't physically read it I had Alexa in my ears because I just didn't want to stop.

I cried a lot during this book, it damn near broke my heart. Which just made me love it more. Havoc was sensational. All her damages that made her strong enough to do what she done and then to keep going through all the difficulties she faced made me want to protect her myself.

And dear lord those poor broken Alphas that needed her just as much if maybe not more than she needed them. So many revelations throughout the book that had my heart in a vice like grip. Ones that I didn't even expect or see coming as I was blindsided by them. All of it made you love or hate the characters more depending on whom they were.

Plus holy hotness the spice level was burning hot. I would very much like more of Kai and Angel please *fans self*

    Can't wait for Viper's book!!!!
