Lost in his own madness, Villi plots his revenge - and he will stop at nothing.
Only Valeri seems to be grounded - living in a world of bliss with the one man he should have kept away from.

About the author

R. A. Mendsen started as a fan of High and Epic Fantasy, who devoured as many books on the genre as humanly possible. Wanting to create worlds as magical and adventurous as those she read about, she started working on an idea for a Fantasy story after listening to - on repeat - a certain Iron Maiden album.
Life, of course, intervened, and the dreams of penning down an epic book filled with sorcery and treason, quests and adventures, got pushed to the back burner.
Many years went by where the story stuck to the back of her head, but was never developed. Enter the year 2017, and finding herself with a bit of free time in her hands, R. A. decided to revisit those places of her youth that had given birth to her love for Fantasy, and found herself writing what was to be an epic trilogy in the span of a year.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2023Look, I’m going to keep this short and sweet.
That shattered me. After I finished this book, I literally set down my kindle and just did that thing where you stare off into the distance, contemplating the book, its characters, and your own life.
I tend to rate how much I loved a book by how much of a book hangover it gives me. I’m still hungover from this book. It’s been over a month. That should tell you all you need to know, really. But, in case it’s not enough, and in case you haven’t already read the first two books yourself or my other reviews. Let me put it this way.
Are you a mature adult at a place in your life where you can handle intense content with an open mind? Do you like naturally good writing? Do you like characters that leap off the page at you because they are so real? Do you like stories that challenge you, evoke feeling, deal with hard subject matter, yet still tell a damn good story through it all with top-notch world-building and plot?
If you answered yes, then I think you know what you need to do next.
Ruth, it’s been an honor to read this series. You continue to amaze and inspire me as a writer, and I can’t wait to jump on my next read of yours.
Well done.
