Protector - Treachery: A Dark Mate-Claim Romance (Protector Series Book 2) Kindle Edition
I created him. Put him back together when he was nothing but ripped muscle and snapped bones.
I made him stronger. Faster. Lethal. I molded him into a weapon. And for three years, I controlled his every breath.
He hates me for it.
I hate him, too.
When I was weak and desperate and thought I would die, he was the one who came for me.
He claimed my freedom to save my life, and I am no longer the one in control.
Now, he is my unwilling protector, and I…
I belong to him.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2023Wow, I could never have taught this would happen. I’m completely surprised, but I’m loving it even more. I love that AX2 is becoming more of an alpha that he was born to be. I must say these new developments have me thinking how well the general truly knows the new AX2 or is he wanting Jacob back. I can’t imagine what’s going on in Adelaide mind. She been through hell only to find out it all due to her loved one. I’m more curious to see if she will find his control pad. I love the change in Adelaide, she is becoming more softer around AX2. I can’t help, but feel this new bombshell can cause the return of Dr. Thompson or will the new AX2 be able to reassure her. I’m seriously looking forward to the final book in this series.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2023Ax2's story just keeps getting better. Now he has his mate and is discovering things about his past. He has a new mission and is going through a learning process with his life.
I am really liking these books! There's some mystery and action with some spice dropped in.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2023I'm glad I did. I was really pulled into the story during this book. It's very spicy as usual. Can't wait for the next one!

Protector: Treachery picks up where Protector: Rage left off. AX2 and Addie are back from her dangerous ordeal. Instead of being in full control of AX2, she and the soldier/weapon are on a little more level playing field—with some wavering on both parts. The CIA want to debrief Addie and AX2 on her kidnapping and subsequent rescue. AX2 is introduced to other versions of ultimate soldiers. He understands he was built as a weapon, but has questions about his origin. He’s an Alpha, and Addie controlling him goes against his nature. When AX2’s submission to Addie is removed, this is where the fun starts. Addie’s world goes haywire, and she has no clue how it’s happening. But she and AX2 are determined to get to the bottom of things, but when they seem to get one thing figured out, it seems to open up another can of worms.
I’m at the edge of my seat with this one. More action, deceit, and heat between AX2 and Addie. The twists and turns continue, and the ending left me with my mouth hanging open. I cannot wait for the conclusion of this epic story.
Jason Clarke and Stella Hunter narrated this story, and did a wonderful job.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 1, 2023The storyline is AMAZING. Truly amazing. The misuse of words, as if the author has no idea how to use a dictionary, is distracting. A decent editor should've caught this. If you're gonna sell 100 pages at a time with HARDLINE cliffhangers, I would think someone who sees herself as a marketable professional writer would deliver flawless or near flawless work. I don't like this writing style, but as I said before, the story is really good. The blatant disrespect for the reader who BUYS is the reason for the loss of 2 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2023Protector: Treachery started right where book 1 started off, so I would recommend reading it first. It was interesting to get both Addie's and AX2 POVs and how they both felt about the situation they were in. It does end on a major plot twist cliffhanger that I was not expecting, and I very much look forward to the final book in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2023Well I thought I was expecting one thing but I was totally thrown for a loop. Ms. Ash once again kept me on my toes with this followup book. She always does such an excellent job to use these sophomore series books to their full potential. They are never the "filler" books you so often see in other series that hardly move the plot or the character development along; more there to increase sales than anything else.
No, this book pushed that line. Layers of character backstory were pulled back and delved into, as the author started to shine a light into the shadowy pasts of the damaged alpha that is more machine than man and coldly clinical woman who seems to be a machine than an omega. The situation that forced them together forcing long buried secrets from the dark.
Ash does a wonderful job of playing on this non-con dynamic shift and how it effects the characters internally with the roles forcibly switched. It's deliciously dark and as that bite of danger. To elicit that feeling that keeps you right on the edge and yet it's something unnamed - it gets you all the way to the end.

I'm gonna try so hard to write this without giving away a lot.
This one was so much better for so many reasons. We see more of Addie before she was a cold scientist and I loved watched Ax2 discover those small things along the way. The plot twists and dark reveals were insane and it's a little sad, but it definitely emphasized their forced relationship and the important work Addie dedicated her life to. The pace was good, the characters were easy to hate and sympathize with. I'm probably ecstatic over this one because I actually got to enjoy all the good yummy sexy times. And the aftercare?? From a supposed machine who couldn't be anything more than a man? Bless.
Good chemistry. Good struggles with feelings of what was being done and what had been done. Nice storytelling. I'm happy.

5.0 out of 5 stars More angsty cyborg/alpha and the scientist who won't relinquish her control over him
The way I had been desperately waiting for this since reading Rage in the dystopian Omegaverse antholgy it was featured in and I was not left dissappointed.
The story continues on after a traumatic event, leading AX2 pretty much forcibly mated due to his programming and lack of control over his actions as a cyborg.
AX2 being an Alpha underneath the machinery can't resist his biological instinct to protect his new mate and we're blessed with some really wonderfully intimate moments between the love interests even though they both attempt to fight against it in their trauma and stubbornness.
But there's also a mystery unfolding, which makes the events unfolding in the story that much more addictive. I need the next book so bad 🤓😵
You must read Rage first! And I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not just a machine any more?
Protector: Treachery is the 2nd book of the Protector Trilogy by Nora Ash and you will need to read the first book as both end on a cliffhanger. Luckily we don't have to wait long before the third and final addition is live (June 2023)! And I'm really looking forward to the 3rd book!!
This series is very dark and angsty and has several triggers.
I found this 2nd book to be mostly a filler for me, and though the plot definitely moves forward and I was thrown for a loop, I didn't enjoy this 2nd book as much as the first one, which was a little disappointing.
That said, it's still a very well-written novella series and I am enjoying the story immensely, hence the 4 stars. I've been waiting for this series for years now ever since the tiny little snipped we got at the end of Feral. =D
I do immensely dislike our MFC Adelaide.
It really grates on me haha, because I don't tend to enjoy "Alpha females", though she is very much an Omega. There is bound to be a reason for her serious dehumanisation of AX2, we just haven't gotten to the root of it, I hope we do find out in the next book.
Her severe need to control the AX men and hold power over them is a problem for me.
That said, she does start to redeem herself towards the end, which I was happy about, and I hope that continues. :D
AX2...I just feel for him so bad. But he's starting to feel less like a machine throughout this book, which was nice to see, so we definitely get a great character transformation, I can't wait to read the last instalment to see where he takes it.
The fact that I have these huge feelings towards our MFC and MMC is a huge plus in my column to the author. Nora Ash is a wonderful writer and her books have always taken me for an emotional rollercoaster.
And though 'Protector: Treachery' may not be of my favourites from her, the universe she has created as part of this now three-book series is part of my favourite Omegaverse worlds and I can't wait and hope that she adds even more books to this wonderful world she has created with this series. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars omega verse, Romance
Book 2 was even better than book 1. I love that they are only short storys. Not like super short. This one is 156 pages long.
The thing I love the most is there is no woffling. Heaps of actions and drama and jam packed in. Totally my style of book.
Made me reach for book 3 instantly. I want an AX2 now!
Highly recommend.
