He definitely wasn't supposed to get that email ...

Subject: My Boss.

Have I already told you that I hate my boss today?

Sexy as hell or not, this pompous, arrogant ASSHOLE asked me to pick up his dry cleaning the second I walked through the door. Then he told me that I needed to take his Jaguar to a car wash that was ten miles outside of the city, but only after I needed to stand in a never-ending line to buy some type of limited, hundred-dollar watch.

I honestly can't wait to see the look on his face two months from now when I tell him that I'm quitting his company and that he can kiss my ass. KISS. MY. ASS.

All those former fantasies about him kissing me with his "mouth of perfection" or bending me over my desk and filling me with his cock are long over. OVER.

Your bestie,

Mya

P.S. Please tell me your day is going better than mine.

Subject: Re: My Boss.

No, you haven't already told me that you hate your boss today, but seeing as though you've sent me this email directly, I know now.

Yes, I did ask you to pick up my dry cleaning the second you arrived at work today. (Where is it?) And I did tell you to take my Jaguar to the car wash and pick up my thousand-dollar watch. (Thank you for taking five hours to do something that could be accomplished in two.)

You don't have to wait two months from now to see the look on my face when you tell me you're quitting. I'm standing outside your office at this very moment. (Open the door.)

No comment on your "fantasies," although I highly doubt they're "long over."

Your boss,

Michael

P.S. Yes. My day is definitely going far better than yours.

Okay I apparently am behind the ball here because I've owned this book since July of 2017. 😖. I am so embarrassed.
Okay so the dislikes first the timing of the book(days to weeks to a year back to days to weeks to months) 🤯. I mean really would it hurt to be a day at a time just for a little bit, then there is the emails, (Re. Re. Re ) seriously! Okay now to the likes, the first tne emails were hilarious, the fact that this reminded me of Fifty Shades , were Christian and Ana were conversing by email and he wanted her that they were on the business server but she ignored him, this were Mya was supposed to be so smart of course she was using the company email account of course they would be seen by IT, anyway when she accidentally sends Michael the most damaging email of all by mistake whoops. Okay the not communicating yet communicating between Mya and Michael. They are both feeling the attraction they both vent differently, Micheal has to avoid s**, Mya has to avoid his wrath not knowing that her very presence is causing him pain, because she makes him hard on a daily basis. See Michael has a publishing company yet he can't seem to stay out if the tabloids, so in order to have a successful launch he has to avoid any contact with a female that will have on the front page of the next tabloid. First he is propositioned by his very incompetent PA, so he fires her, she was number 8 this year alone. Then Mya is hired and on a daily bases (which we don't get to read about because of before mentioned time glitches) she berates him to her bestie Amy through before mentioned emails.
But according to Micheals amusement they are entertaining and steamy fantasies along with hate mentions. But for the first time in his life Michael panics when he learns that after a full year of Myas presence , she is looking for another job just when he thought about bringing her on as a partner, but with this news, he feels betrayed so he does everything to keep her by giving her s raise with some steep stipulations, like signing a new contract with a no compete clause. Which she won't sign even after they become intimate. There are funny panicky moments where Mya does off the wall things that even she should know was wrong. Someone else's credit card were involved. What she didn't know that over the year Michael was learning and remembering everything about her, her weird food allergies, her favorite flower, what makes her sneeze for crying out loud, also he have her things even HR or even his bestfriend doesn't know about, like the car and driver so she doesn't have to ride a bus late a night, or the fact that she uses said credit card for personal use, or rjay she is always a few minutes late or she takes fi e hours to do a two hour job, but she is effective and efficient so her 3anting to leave him sets his blood on fire and he literally spins out of control. I know all this nin communication is what makes the story but it would of been so much easier if they were just open and honest from day one. But in the end the s** scenes were H.O.T. hot and the arguments justified and the HFN ending satisfactory but the last comment about how she signed her last email has me wondering, is there a sequel? Or an extended epilogue somewhere?

This one is a fast, fun book for those times when you are short on time and want a quick read. There are basically four characters, but almost 90 percent of the story is about the two main characters. The boss, Michael Leighton, owns a publishing company, and he has a very naughty reputation where he can't seem to stay out of the scandal sheets. His friend, Brad, challenges him to keep his image clean for a year, staying out of said gossip sheets by swearing off women for the year. The friend agrees to interview and hire an Admin Assistant to replace Michael's lastest disaster. Enter the new Admin Assistant, Mya. She's top notch, but because he is the most difficult, demanding boss ever, you see her decline. One email telling her friend just what she really thinks of her boss ends up being sent to Michael instead of the friend. Now, sparks fly.
What I would have loved to see was more backstory about Michael and about Mya and a bit more buildup between them. As it was, it was fast, some steam, but not the hottest book ever, and there is a happy ever after.

Note to self- always check who you send your email to… especially if you’re talking about your hot asf boss who’s a major grump and the bad things you wanna do with him 😬.

Michael’s a grumpy boss; his track record with assistants shows how bad he is as a boss, and lets not talk about his constant tabloid appearances with his many “love” encounters (since he’s a manhoooar). His advisor tells him he needs to remain celibate for 12 months and he needs to try to keep his next assistant for as long as he can. Basically, he needs to clean up his image.

Enter Mya. Sure. Her bestie sent her a Craigslist job offering- she got hired on her the spot 💁🏻‍♀️. Nuff said. She’s more than qualified for the job AND the pay is good. What could go wrong?

12 months later- how about an inappropriate email 😬😅.

    What I liked/loved-possible spoilers
—um… duh… this is Whitney G. I love how grumpy her Hs are, how frank and how much they have a IdontGiveAnF attitude 💁🏻‍♀️. These men always give me BDE… and well, there’s a reason why 💅 and Michael was no different. He exudes alphaness and power and… well… BDE 👀

—how feisty Mya was, even if it was just in emails 🤣. She made passive aggressive comments that had me cackling. I like that she was a meek, doormat either. She might’ve not always been outspoken, but her inner monologue made up for it

—the tension 🔥. As always, we have some delicious tension. This is an older book (and short… sigh), but I still felt it. For “not liking each other,” these two sure had steam coming out of their bodies 👀

—the smexxy times. Oh LAWD. Talk about primal, no holds barred 🔥

    —his mouth 🥵💦

—the emails 👀😅😬. All of them. The funny ones. The venting ones. The OOPS smexxy ones. Loved them

    What I wanted more of:
—the length 😑😒. It’s too short. We don’t even get a proper epilogue 😩 (we get one, but it’s too short for jt liking lol). We get a Reasonable Doubt excerpt though (which I also enjoyed years ago).

This was the perfect palette cleanser and even though I would’ve normally lowered the rating more for not having a proper epilogue, it’s Whitney G, which means I was smirking a lot and felt good by the end. Extra points from me lol.

    Loved it.

This was a hot, cute and spicy little novella. I loved the back and forth between Michael and Mya. He is so demanding and bossy. He looks so yummy while he is that way. Michael goes through his assistants like underwear. After his council tells him to behave and stay out of the tabloids he has his work cut out for him. Mya is his kryptonite. She gives as good as she gets. When an email makes it to him instead of her bestie. She has to do whatever it takes to save face? Will she resist his charms or become another notch on his belt?

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome novella from Whitney G
Reviewed in Spain on October 20, 2017
I love the books of Whitney G and I followed the advances of this book from one of its social networks, so when it went on sale, even though it was not in my native language (I'm Spanish) I had to buy it.

I am a sucker for office romances, so I devoured this as soon as it was available on my kindle. The gist of the situation is that Michael is a CEO of a respected publishing company, who has a bad public reputation and a knack for not being able to keep executive assistants. His advisor, Brad, convinces Michael to clean his act up and that he (Brad), will vet assistants until he finds one that can survive Michael's demands.

Fast foward a year, during which Mya has been working for Michael. No matter how much she likes her job and the perks (she has her own driver!) she cannot stand her boss. She likes to rant to her best friend Amy about him, via email. Unfortunately, one of those rants gets sent to wrong email, and suddenly Michael is aware that his assistant both hates him and would like to sleep with him!

This was a short but fun novella. Whitney G knows how to pen lovable assh**ls. I enjoyed how Mya made Michael respect her and appreciate what she did for him. Overall, this was a very fast-paced read. My only complaint is how abruptly this book ended. It could have done with a chapter more or a longer epilogue.
