Hunted: Aria Hunt FBI Crime Thriller (FBI Agent Aria Hunt Book 1) Kindle Edition
For fans of Lisa Gardner and Robert Dugoni—this thriller hits hard and doesn’t let go till the last page.
FBI Agent Aria Hunt's career went up in flames after Denver debacle. Now she's stuck in the Bureau's basement, until five kids vanish, their abductions linked by a chilling pattern only Aria can decipher.
Each crime scene is clean. Too clean.
But when they find a brilliant mathematician and FBI consultant gutted in his study with bloody equations smeared across his walls, Aria knows the killer's design is far more complex than simple kidnapping.
The children aren't just victims; they're pieces in his deadly game.
Paired with Agent Ethan Parker (who makes it clear he'd rather work with anyone else), Aria races to crack the killer's code as the once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse approaches. With each disappearance, the killer's spiral tightens, and Aria realizes the children will die on the eclipse day unless she finds the killer.
And as she deciphers the twisted logic behind the abductions, Aria uncovers a terrifying connection to death of her twin brother in her childhood, forcing her to confront her own demons to save the children.
The clock's ticking. The killer's brilliance is his most terrifying weapon. And Aria's beginning to suspect this case has more to do with her past than anyone realizes.
If you lose sleep over dark investigations, complex characters, and nail-biting suspense, HUNTED by Chase Austin is your next addiction.
Perfect for fans of Thomas Harris's Clarice Starling, Jeffery Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme series, Gillian Flynn's razor-sharp protagonists, Patricia Cornwell's forensic detail, Jo Nesbø's Harry Hole, and Kathy Reichs's Temperance Brennan.
This thriller hits all the sweet spots: a damaged but brilliant investigator, a villain who's always one step ahead, and math that's somehow scarier than any weapon.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2025Aria Hunt is an FBI agent. She has a gift of being able to see patterns in numbers, she is highly analytical, she is highly organized, and she is autistic. Chase Austin crafted a novel that is truly exceptional and brought tears to my eyes a couple times. It is amazing what the author did in developing Aria‘s character. He goes into exceptional detail in creating a character that is highly intelligent, sees the world differently, and how well he developed the descriptions of her autism. It is also exceptional the development of the storyline and the stunning description of the world the protagonist creates. Children’s lives are on the line? They disappear with precision and on a mathematical timescale. Can she overcome sensory overload created by chaos? Fascinating view from within the world of a highly functioning autistic FBI agent that will do anything to save children.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2025The disappearance of 5 children over a period of time requires a different approach and Special Agent Aria Hunt consigned to the archives in the basement of FBI headquarters, is called on to utilise her special skills to help solve the kidnappings. But it is more complex than just kidnapped youngsters. They all have special similar skills to Aria and as the story unfolds Aria finds herself deeply involved and suspects she may also be able to solve the mysterious drowning of her twin brother at age 7, years ago. Aria is allocated to a field team headed up by Ethan Parker and initially Ethan and his team are sceptical of how her unusual skills identifying patterns will assist, but they eventually accept her skills when patterns she has identified are brought to light by the investigations.
There are so many twists and turns in this story that this reader wondered what was going to happen next, and at times emotions connected to the characters and the situations they found themselves in. WHAT A GREAT READ!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2025This is a new genre and the start of a new series for this author. And for his first attempt, it was an incredible ride. The story started out slow for me as the plot foundation is established. The last quarter of the story picked up its’ movement at an incredible pace! I had no option but to cling to my seat, and turn the pages at a record pace. Twists and turns, taking me off guard added to the thrill of the story. To enhance the pace the author had short, quick chapters as one of the protagonist goes through timed tests. This tactic was brilliant in keeping me involved, and invested in the characters’ welfare. This story is not an easy, cozy read, but an intense, gripping, highly cerebral and unusual adventure. And when I thought it was over, still more drama followed. I received a complimentary ARC, but I am voluntarily offering my personal opinion.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2025Disgraced FBI agent Aria Hunt is happy working cold cases in the basement. As a highly functioning autistic agent she recognizes patterns and trends no one else sees. 5 smart children have been abducted and the dates and places appear to follow a pattern. Aria is called in to consult and manages to save the 6th child only to become the next victim. Now she is a battle to save her sanity and her life but she must succeed or all the children will die. This is a high octane thriller that will keep you on the edge of you seat the entire book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 30, 2025wow, what an intense book. I never knew all this about math, and know I will never truly understand much of it. Slow reading because of all the formulas, sequences, spirals etc. But also very interesting. Interesting characters , and they are well developed.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2025As a consequence of a previous mission, FBI Agent Aria Hunt is now working in the basement of the FBI building with previously unsolved files. It turns out that she is quite successful with her new job. Regardless, this position is considered to be one where former agents are stuck for the rest of their career.
But then she is drafted to "assist" lead Agent Ethan Parker in a stunning case of five missing young children who have vanished without any leads whatsoever! But Aria has built-in senses that allow her boss to bring her surprisingly into the new case.
This is an outstanding adventure in watch you watch Aria and Agent Parker right up to the thrilling an unexpected end! Heads up: HUNTED by Chase Austin is truly difficult to put down once you start reading!
