About the author
Sundari Venkatraman is an Indie Author who has 68 books to her credit. These books have consistently featured in the Top 100 Bestseller Lists on Amazon India, Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Australia in both romance as well as Asian Drama categories. Her latest hot romances have all been on #1 Bestseller slot in Amazon India for over a month.
These days, the author is independently publishing her novels in paperback format under her banner Flaming Sun, printed and distributed by Notion Press.
Even as a child, Sundari absolutely loved the ‘lived happily ever after’ syndrome and she grew up on a steady diet of fairy tales, Phantom comics and Mandrake comics. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy ending after the protagonists surmounted all unexpected obstacles.
Once she entered her teens, Sundari switched her loyalties from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to local heroes and heroines. And of course, the joy of vanquishing the ubiquitous evil villains! Her imagination soared and she happily ensconced herself in a rosy romantic cocoon for many years.
Then came the writing—a true bolt from the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2017As to my heading, after reading the book one would really wish they could just drop everything and rush to check on Ooty. It so romantically and beautifully depicted that apart from falling in love with Rhea and Jamie’s story one would fall in love with Ooty, the cottage and the building which now has been converted into a 5-star hotel. The British influence left in the architecture of the place. It pulls you in.
The setting of the British influenced building, the cool Ooty climate and two absolutely strong personalities and unavoidable sparks flying, there was never going back.
I loved the female protagonist’s strength and confidence and the male protagonist who doesn't throw around his machoism around.
And finally, I absolutely loved the way the bad guy was handled.

Is Jamie Scott, an Australian who travels to India to find out about the love his grandmother had for a particular land in Ooty. A strange restlessness was surrounding his heart and a call to go towards the unknown was calling out to him. And so after reading a diary of his grandmom, he sets on a journey to reach India. How romantic!
"The call of Ooty was too powerful. He had just one life to live. Might as well live his dream along with his grandmother’s wishes!"
She...
She is Rhea Bansal. She has a legacy as her base where the name Bansal Hoteliers is a name to be reckoned with. But Rhea wants to make her mark for herself and that is what makes her move to Ooty to carry on the family traditions in the name of the Rose Garden International.
The love Story begins...
"Jamie turned swiftly from the reception and almost knocked against Rhea who had been a couple of feet behind him. “Oops!” He placed his hands on her shoulders. “I’m sorry I didn’t see you.” He gave her a lopsided smile, his green eyes crinkling at the corners as they studied the woman in front of him boldly."
Do read the above lines. That small touch, the blink of an eye moment when two souls meet and your heart tells you - he is the one. Ms. Venkatraman does a wonderful portrayal of what I call 'when you meet him' scenes.
The description of the surroundings is becoming Ms. Venkatraman's forte. The rose gardens, the ambiance, and the hotel's work culture- all have been caught beautifully by the author. I especially loved the research she had done on this subject and woven the information into her story. It's almost like me getting a tour of the hotel and the words in the speaker are of Ms. Venkatraman's.
“Air curtains have been created between the kitchens while the smells get absorbed by powerful chimneys. They have the added advantage of keeping insects and dust away,” said Aftab with a smile, bringing an answering smile to the guest’s face."
I liked the way the political negatives crept into the story. Very different from all the books I have read of Ms. Venkatraman's. Rhea comes out strong and not at all like a damsel in distress. A woman who can fight against anything and that is what makes Rhea stand out as a complete woman.
The story has a villain, a couple actually. A few nasty boyfriends and a perfectly made of each other couple. A Bollywood flick in the making?
My take on the novel:
A perfect read for romance lovers. The girl is intelligent and can stand for herself. The boy is a perfect hero material complimenting the girl, yet not getting overshadowed by her. The political goons are perfect for trying your kickboxing skills and the scenario - has all the oomph factors that Ms. Venkatraman's novels are known for.

This is the second book in The Bansal Legacy trilogy, and I liked this one better than Simha International (Book #1). For a couple of reasons really, but mostly because I liked the love story in this book much better than the previous one.
Rohit & Tasha (from the previous book) were great people individually, and they definitely had a sizzling chemistry, but their love story was very flat and one tone, plus also a little cheesy towards the end. Jamie & Rhea on the other hand (from Rose Garden International) were just the kind of made for each other couple you would want to root for. Dramatically different from each other, yet also the perfect complement to one another.
Moreover I simply loved the setting of this book. The way that the author has described the quiet, lovely, picturesque town of Ooty and the cozy, yet almost regal setting of Rose Garden International, made me want to visit Ooty right away and check into one of the charming cottages of Rose Garden International.
All in all: A decent read for folks who enjoy fast paced, light-hearted romances.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 9, 2017I’m a huge fan of Sundari Venkatraman’s romance novels, so I was thrilled to see there’s a new series out by her, tied together by hotels. “Rose Garden International” is Book 2, and I’m head over heels in love with it. I’m a big fan of interracial/multicultural romance novels (reading them as well as writing them), so I was intrigued how the love story between Jamie the Australian and Rhea the Indian would play out. And I have to say they had amazing chemistry and are both characters that will stay in my mind.
Interestingly, the story didn’t start right away with the leading pair meeting, but showed a glimpse of both separately at home, and that was a nice way to get to know them a little. It also gave me a very good idea of how deep their connection would run (no spoilers, but I guessed something right). Once they met, sparks flew in abundance, but I’m happy to say it wasn’t all about physical attraction. This is another of Venkatraman’s more sensual/steamy stories, but the scenes are done with care for Rhea’s inexperience and her bad first encounters with men. There was just enough suspense to the plot to have me biting my nails sometimes, and one twist did catch me by surprise. Along the way, I fell in love with the setting of the hotel in Ooty too.
Book 2 in the Bansal Legacy Trilogy is just as wonderful as Book 1, and I can’t wait for Book 3!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read
Rose International by Sundari Venkataraman is the second in the Bansal Legacy series. After reading the first and the third book of the series and know about the Bansal boys and their establishment, I couldn't wait to find out more about the female hotelier of the Bansal Clan.
The story revolves around Rhea Bansal and Jamie Scott. Rhea Bansal is a managing director in a 5-star hotel named Rose Garden International in Ooty. She is hardworking and dedicated and passionate about her work. And the hotel is thriving under her managerial skills.
Jamie Scott is an interior designer from Australia. Jamie has always felt a strong connection with Ooty after hearing about its beauty and their grandparent's life in the city in British Raj. So, when he got the opportunity to go to Ooty and re-live those places that he heard in stories by his grandmother, he grabbed it with both hands.
This novella is my favorite one from this series. The author has exquisitely described the beauty of Ooty. Whether it was the smallest detail about the surroundings or the beauty of the hotel and its many beautiful surroundings, vivid detailing brought the scenes alive. Both the characters were written well and I enjoyed how the author has provided them with a character arc and showed their characteristics evolve as the story progresses.
The language is pretty lucid and the fast-paced narration kept me engaged till the very end and I finished it almost in one setting itself. I liked how the author incorporated the hotel and build the story around it and not kept it in the backdrop. I liked how Jamie's character has been written and how he let Rhea have her time to decide on her feelings rather than telling them what she feels. The story was all about love, heritage, grudge, and love conquering all. It was a sweet and entertaining read.

Rhea Bansal is a female protagonist, an entrepreneur, running a five-star hotel in Ooty namely, Rose Garden. She is a very dedicated and hard-working lady who very well manages to run her resort. She treats her clients as well as employees very respectfully.
She has been very successful in her career life but when it's about her love life, she has faced alot of problems and issues. In her last relationship, she was very serious and loyal towards him but wasn't comfortable. One day, an Australian, Jamie Scott visited her resort. Jamie is a straightforward, extremely jolly sort of person. Both of them interacted and their love chemistry begins.
What do you think will happen between them? Grab this book to know what happens to Rhea and Jamie Scott after their first interaction.

The way the author has portrayed their chemistry, that special attachment in the book is impeccable. This is the second book of the series “The Bansal Legacy” and having read the first book I was very much excited to read this part as I was extremely satisfied with the last one. The author has met my expectations. She has very well described the place. She has captured the scenic beauty very well. The choice of words is apt as it helps in the visualization of a fictional story. The book cover is very vibrant and apt as per the storyline.
This book is recommended to all those who love to read fictional stories or romantics
