4.4 out of 5 stars 280 ratings

Some things are meant to be.

Roam begins her senior year in a world she considers ordinary. When she meets her new history teacher, West, she learns her fate is not as simple as she once believed, and the memories begin to take over her life. Roam and West have spent centuries, as far back as the 1400s to as recently as the 1970s, struggling to survive a prophecy that has forsaken them both and unraveling a tale of love that has lasted throughout lifetimes.

Evil is near, and in their last life together, West must try to protect Roam once more...

And the unborn child that will save the world.

There are so many great books out there today and I can't count the number of times I have picked up a book and read it from cover to cover, only to say after "Why did it take me so long to read this?" ROAM is one of those books for me. I had seen it a couple times on amazon, and even saw some mentions through out Facebook but for some reason I was in no hurry to pick it up. This is a sad mistake because this book, the first in the series, is abso-freaking-lutely amazing. I want to shout about this book because it deserves to be read. What finally prompted me to read it? Well truthfully I was reading an Author Spotlight that author T.K. Rapp did on Mrs. Stredronsky.
As I am being throughly honest it was this part of the spotlight that made me decide I needed to go and get the first book ROAM

"My husband, Brian, is so supportive. He's an avid reader, like me. He's also SUPER sarcastic, tactless, and brutally honest. Did I mention he's a Marine vet? And a stand-up comedian? **long low whistle** yeah, not the best audience as your first critic. I had no idea what to expect when he began reading Roam. A few chapters in, he turned to me and said, 'Holy sh*t, Kimee, I can't believe you wrote this. I keep reading and forgetting that it's you!'"

Yes, that right there resulted in me going right over to amazon. I wanted to witness her writing myself and have that "Holy sh*t" moment. Guess what. . I did. It was a total "Holy sh*t why didn't I read this sooner?!!" Then I quickly proceeded to read it instead of doing homework, I might have also pushed off feeding a kiddo a time or two until I couldn't any longer and I reluctantly put down the book.

This book is extremely well written, throughly thought out and well developed. I loved the character of Roam because even though I thought she was going to be a bit of a weak character in the beginning pages from her apparent neediness with Logan, she totally blew me away. She was intelligent and quick tongued. She also asked the right freaking questions! So many times the female leads never ask questions about why and how things are happening, they just go with it. Not Roam. This meant all the question I developed were throughly answered (well except for the coordinates, I am still confused on that but still). I loved that Kim thought to answers those through Roam, it made me love her even more and respect her even though she was only 17. Her intelligence added to her maturity and suddenly I was forgetting her age.

West, oh my what can I say about West. He is flawed and real. I wasn't sure how I was going to like him when things first started out but quickly developed an attraction to him. He admired Roam's intelligence, and was protective of her. He had attraction to her and passion and I loved reading his reactions to her apparent intelligence.

Supporting characters are amazing. Their presence adds to the story and supports it and I would not change a thing about them.

There are twists and turns that made my heart break and speed up. I loved the historical facts woven throughout the story that showed the thoroughness of Kim's writings and gave it even greater depth.

This is a paranormal book unlike any others I have read. A fresh and unique story with great characters that will leave you wanting more. The great thing about it all is the series is complete, so there is no waiting for the next book. I already have the next two books waiting for me on my kindle.

I don't know how to say much more without giveaway bits of the story. I promise, you will get lost in this book. A definite must read!

    Reading Order:
    #1 ROAM
#1.5 WEST -novella (West's POV from ROAM)
    #2 FALL
    #3 RISE
    #4 RUSH
    #5 RULE
    #6 REIGN

This book was a free download, and what a find it was. This was a fantastic read. It was well-written, fast-paced, with very few typos, unlike a lot of other self-published books these days.

The characters were well-developed, and I found myself wanting to know each of them even more. The story was captivating from the very beginning. I love that Roam is an intelligent and rather mature character, despite her young age of 17. There is little teenage angst, which is atypical of other YA novels. The other main characters in the book, West and Logan, are really great as well, both strong, honorable, and selfless. Both worthy of Roam, despite their past histories.

The premise of the story, 4 individuals whose fates are intertwined throughout time, have 7 lifetimes to reach their goals. This book starts with their final lifetime. It was very interesting to get glimpses of those other lifetimes throughout the book. There is a huge span of time from the first lifetime to the last. History really comes alive through the author's portrayal of each.

I could not put this novel down once I started and can't wait for the next one.

What would you do if you were seventeen and everything you believed in had to change to save the world? You would panic, just like Roam did.

Smart, focused, and college bound, Roam Camden has two goals: become a history professor and have a future with Logan Rush. Happy with her rosy future, she panicked when she touched West Perry, her history teacher. Forces had been set in motion and the fates of two worlds rested on her shoulders. West promised he could save her, but could he?

Handsome, resourceful, and smart,West Perry has a lifetime mission: protect Roam from the evil that stalks her. But over the centuries, six times he has tried and failed. This seventh life together is his final chance. Markings have appeared on his arm each time she's been reborn. Her markings have seared her flesh each time that they first touch. And each and every time, their eternal love has returned full force. Just how intertwined are their lives?

Bright, athletic and eighteen, Logan Rush has two passions: the Marines and Roam. In childhood, friendship flourished, in their teens, those feelings deepened. Planning a future with the service, Roam and marriage, he's confused when the overwhelming dreams come. Will the past collide with the present until nothing seems possible or real?

Will the evil one find and convince Logan to kill Roam?

Will West's knowledge and protection be enough to save Roam?

Or will her salvation come from an unlikely source?

This book weaves history, culture, and science into an engrossing tale of good VS evil. Well developed characters. Totally entertaining, real page turner. No emotions weren't employed reading about these characters.

I would highly recommend this book!

    Excellent read!

Roam had me hooked from the begining. Very strong charcheters that keep you intriged throughout the book.
Roam is in high school with her school boy friend Logan. Logan set to go into the army and Roam into further education. A new teacher attends school calll Perry West. They have meet each other in previous after lifes. A relationship develops between the two and the realtionship between Callum becomes more friends. The realionship between Roam and West develope and Roam has explicit dreams about the past life she had with West and Logan

Logan has had a different relationship in past with Roam and not a good one.

The drama continues and an old ark enemy shows his face and is a threat to Roam. To end this old curse they have to think about a baby to end the curse and past through fountains to past life to save the world from the phophacy.

Really exciting book that keeps you on your toes and wanting more, Loved the drama that unfolds and loved the follow up book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Roam Series, Book one
Reviewed in Germany on November 21, 2016

Loved this start to the series. Shades of Vampire Academy, Fallen and other YA/NA books yet still maintains a fresh original storyline. Maintains the tutor/student brief situation without being creepy and makes it very clear that Roam is 17 and legal age. Does have non graphic rape and sex scenes. Not suitable for under 17. My only pet peeve. (Spoiler!!!!)

Oh we need you to dream. Its important

Days later. Lets do the one thing that will stop you being able to dream

Felt a little rushed, could have done with a good three chapters slowing the pace.

Roam is refreshingly different Young Adult story, with an interesting plot concept with intelligent and identifiable characters. The plot description was intriguing, reminding me of the Fallen Series by Lauren Kate. Through just the prologue I could tell it was much better than that, with a fantastically fast paced plot, that I literally couldn't put down and finished in a day! I can't wait to start the next book!
