    If you are looking for a fun, easy read for your holidays, this is it. Reindeer Runes follows the adventures of Lumi Northrop and Jack Frost's brother, Corbin, as they search for him and Rudolph - yes, that Rudolph.
    One of the things I love about all of Danielle's books is the escape they allow me from the real world, and this one is no different. Holiday Haven and The Frost Kingdom are magical worlds filled with fairies, harpies, and all other sort of supernaturals - Lumi herself is a witch and Corbin, being a Frost, has powers of his own. I also enjoy the supporting characters, well, except Lumi's mother, but what's a cozy mystery without at least one character without boundaries?
    All of that being said, I will say, this isn't my favourite book that Danielle has every written. I feel like I was plunked down in the middle of a land of people that I'm supposed to know, but don't. Kind of like going to a family reunion. The characters, while likable aren't terribly well developed when the story takes off with the discovery of the disappearance of Jack, and Corbin, quite frankly comes off as a jerk.
    Again, it's a light, easy read. I do recommend this book but beg you not to judge all of Danielle's work off of just this one.

    *I was given a copy of this book in advance in exchange for an honest review. I'm giving it 4 stars because I can't give it 3.5.

    Lumi is from a long line of reindeer guardians, and her mom wants to see her happy, which seems to mean seeing her married. Lumi just wants to take care of the animals and commune with nature. She's drawn into a mystery and finds out that there's more out there. A great read.

    Really enjoyed this book. The story of Lummi is still set sort of in Holiday Haven. I say sort of because Lumi lives on the reindeer sanctuary outside of town. Never thought where old reindeer go? Well here you have it!
    Lummi is an adorable 20 something woman working on her families farm. When Rudolf goes missing -and Jack Frost, Lummi ends up getting involved because she happened to be in town across the street when the commotion started. So she went to look. Noticing the Santa Reindeer shoe from the reindeer, she knows something is up.
    Explore the North-pole with Lummi and robin, Jack Frosts brother as the search for Jack, and ,as it turns out, Rudolph!

And nobody knows where Jack is. Jack's brother, Corbin, enlists Numi's help to find Jack. This was an interesting mystery. This is the third book in the series I have read. The mysteries are lighter in nature, no murder. And a slow romance builds over at least two books by the same author. Fun, lighthearted yet intriguing reads.

    I typically longer more "involved" books but am willing to read shorter b'day ones. Even though this was a shortish story, it was satisfying. It was well written and had me totally interested in finding out how Lumi was going help solve the kidnapping of Jack Frost AND Rudolph. I am also happy to see that this author has written more in the Winter Witches series so we can see the development of the story between Corbin and Lumi.

    While this book does not have much of a consistent supporting character presence, it's not lacking in charm & holiday spirit. Lumi & Corbin investigating the disappearance of both Rudolph & Corbin's brother Jack Frost takes the reader to Frost kingdom, Holiday Haven, & of course Lumi's family reindeer sanctuary. Jack has to be found before his coronation as King to the Frost Kingdom, otherwise Corbin as the "spare heir" becomes the new king, a job he doesn't want. I loved Lumi and her willingness to get her hands dirty dedicating her life to taking care of the reindeer with such compassion. She's also smart, confident, & happy with her simple farm life. Her mother thinks she needs to get out more, tries to play matchmaker, and goes behind her back to have Aunt Viv make her a gown for the Yule Ball. Lumi, having turned down her mother's choice for a date, but not wanting to hurt Aunt Viv's feelings is resigned to go alone to the ball. I liked Corbin as well. Sure he comes off as bossy & intimidating, but there were little things he did or said that showed his down to earth kindness. Jack is the ultimate immature bad boy which gives Corbin & Lumi many suspects who could be responsible for his and Rudolph's disappearance. This is another well written & lighthearted book in the Holiday Haven series to ignite your holiday spirit. Continuing on to the next book & recommend this series to others who like this genre.

    I enjoyed this book but was slightly disappointed as I was expecting more reindeer games or at least have them more involved in the story, especially as they were in the title. Having said that, I did still enjoy this cozy Christmas mystery. This is book two in the series but as each book is written by a different talented author and the only thing that stays the same is the location it can be read as either a standalone or in any order, just make sure you read them to help you get into the Christmas spirit. There is no murder and instead is a missing person case. I liked Lumi and her magic but again would have liked a little bit more from her familiar. I just love sassy quirky animals. The mystery was interesting and played out well as Lumi and Corbin dashed around Holiday haven. Off to start the next book.
    Lumi is to busy looking after the Santa's retired reindeer to worry about boyfriends and parties but her mother manoeuvres here into picking up a dress just when word of Jack Frosts disappearance starts to spread. Lumi notices something the Frost guards spot to see or listen to her. Corbin Jack's brother asks Lumi to help him find his brother. Is he just being Jack or was he really kidnapped? But Jack isn't the only one missing? Santa's favourite reindeer, Rudolph has also gone missing and the clues point to Jack being responsible. To save Santa the heartache and worry Lumi agrees to help. Can Lumi and Corbin find the missing before panic sets in?

    Great story about Lumi a reindeer guardian who helps a prince search for jack frost the heir to the throne who has gone missing just before his coronation. Did Jack disappear voluntarily or was he abducted, and if Lumi and Corbin can't track him down will Corbin be crowned in his brother's place. Sugarplum the snow bunny familiar is a cute addition to the cast of characters as well as a matchmaking mother and some argumentative fairies.
