About the author

Gina Lake has been a channel since 1986 and a nondual spiritual teacher since 1999, after having a spiritual awakening. She is also the author of over twenty-five books. She has a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and over thirty years’ experience supporting people in their spiritual growth.
After a further spiritual deepening in 2012, Mother Mary, Jesus, and a circle of Ascended Masters made contact with her, and Jesus began dictating books through her. These teachings from Jesus are nondual (Oneness) teachings, based on universal truth, not on any religion. They are messages of love and peace and how to be an expression of that in your life.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 18, 2011I have read many helpful spiritual books over the years but recently found myself in a somewhat stagnant place in my growth. It got to a point where everything I read sounded like everything else I read. I came to the conclusion that I needed to work harder on looking within, with no inspiration from the 'without'. I needed to develop more discipline, and listen to my inner voice.
Then I ran into this book by 'accident'. Years ago I read a book called Radical Honesty, and then I happen to see this title 'Radical Happiness'. I clicked on it, wondering if it was the same author. Needless to say it wasn't, but I was intrigued nonetheless. I downloaded the Kindle version and started reading.
To put it simply, this book broke through my stagnation! This book is crazy simple, and yes there were a lot of concepts that were review-like. But the concepts were phrased in a way that made me 'get it' on a far more deeper level than ever before. One of the most helpful things for me, was that the distinction between ego and 'self' was clarified, clarified, and clarified some more. I should mention that Gina use the word 'self' to describe our true identity, and encompass basically all that is real, all that is Not ego. I have used the term higher self, but her use of just 'self' was all encompassing, and really clicked.
Self is described in detail, and ego is described in detail. Part of my stagnation was due to my lack of real clarity over these.... ie: How do I know if communication is coming from self or ego? How can I be in closer touch with self, especially during meditation? And one of the most confusing issues for me was, What is the working relationship between ego and self? In a lot of what I had read to this point, ego and self are so opposing, so it really helped to have this relationship clearly defined.
Gina answers all the above questions and more throughout the book. She describes various aspects of the ego, and I was fascinated by the one that masquerades as being spiritual. She calls this one the Guru. That really helped to clarify some things.
To summarize, I am greatly inspired to work even more diligently on always being in touch with 'self'. Before reading the book I felt stagnant and knew I needed to look within. Gina's words have helped me to do that.
One final note, I find I like this author so I just started her book 'Sojourn'. FASCINATING so far! Not your typical book on reincarnation. I'm about 1/3 through and look forward to writing that review soon!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2008Oh how I love Gina Lake's books. I have given away many copies. Because they are so special, I can't NOT share them with others. This book is for you if you ever suspected that what you believe about your life may not be true, and you wish to experience the Joy that is already yours... Now! Gina will turn you inward, to the wisdom that is available to you, and you experience it for yourself. More than just a teaching, Gina's books are, for this reader, a catalyst for Awakening.
Gina writes beautifully, and all of it is as familiar to the soul as your own hand. And the wonderful exercises will lead you to the experience of what she writes, not just the mental understanding of it.
Soon after reading "Radical Happiness", my first Gina Lake book, the father of my child shot himself and left his body... due in large part to the clarity and connection I have to what "I" truly am as a result of basking in Gina Lake's books, each moment surrounding his "death" was perfect and I was completely present and not suffering in a story about what was happening, and completely available to others... I felt LOVE, not sadness, and Joy, not resistance. This expansiveness has continued as I give my self the gift of her words on a regular basis; so I can continue to remember myself. Now Mind is my partner, not my Master.
I would love that you give this book to you. If you love what Eckhart Tolle, Byron Katie or Advaita point to, or you are just tired of "suffering", you will love this work. Run, don't walk, to the Checkout Button!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2012It is rare that I take the time to review books, but this one is a gem of inordinate value. I picked it up because it was cheap - hey, $2.99... who can resist a bargain!! It was an Amazon recommendation for me (by genre) and I had a cursory glance through the table of contents, which I found full of potential. I have not put it down since, and have highlighted virtually every word!! To me, not one word is wasted; not one concept goes without life-changing potential. It is truly a work of the Spirit and I have found nuggets of such value in every page, that it's taking me forever to read as I have to meditate on practically every sentence, then write volumes in my journal... it is speaking to me from such depths and from such utter clarity. Oh to find the clarity that this author has clearly experienced for herself; perhaps it lies carried in the words from these pages. If you are a "seeker", this book can only lend itself to your progress, and whilst saying the same things that we have all heard and read 1,000 times, it says them in such a way as to bring reality and understanding to the concepts. For once I am empowered to actually APPLY these realisations to my life paradigm and daily living. Enjoy this gift from the Universe... it is truly "inspired" (in Spirit).
- Reviewed in the United States on March 31, 2022This is truly one of the BEST books I’ve ever read - and I’ve read many - about the bigger Truth and Consciousness!! It is time for us ALL to Awaken to the Truth of What We Are and this book is a guide how to do that!! I recommend this for everyone seeking to create and live from peace, Oneness. That is our True purpose!! ♥️♥️♥️
- Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2012This is quite a well-written book on the subject of the human ego. It's simple, direct and lucid. The title, however, is a little less than perfect as the book is, as stated earlier, primarily about the ego and it'd have been even better had the author made a greater connection between happiness and the ego, or the dismantling of it, in any case. All in all, it's still a highly readable book and definitely recommendable to those who want to get a better grasp of the nature of the ego from either a Buddhist or psychological perspective.

This book is a little bible that provides the Keys to experiencing the real happiness and to understand that what makes us happy is what we think we are and what our thoughts tell us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gina's Bücher sind die besten ihrer Art!
