    This book had me laughing AND swooning! Cal and Jules brought the heat in this hilariously relatable small-town romance, and I seriously can’t wait for more in this series. As someone who is in her thirties and not super comfortable with kids, watching Cal fumble his way through sudden parenthood was pure perfection that had me laughing out loud.

    But make no mistake. Fields brought the sweet and emotional moments too. This book was real and raw along with the spicy and playful sides. A definitely new favorite by this author!

    Plenty of steam to satisfy! This was my favorite Rae Fields book yet! A lot more depth in the characters and the storyline. And some definite sit up and take notice twists! Read this in two days which is a record for me! Can’t wait for the next one❤️

    This is my first book by this author and I truly enjoyed the read. While there were a few spelling errors in the ARC I received, the story was complete and beautiful. Even though it is relatively short (just over 350 pages), the author somehow builds in backstories for not just the main characters, but a number of supporting characters as well. While this is probably setting them up for their own books in the series, it didn't feel too pushy. There were a number of tropes, however, all of them fit beautifully into the story and were not overdone; especially the age gap. It was mentioned a few times, but it was never harped on. I was impressed by how the author handles the abusive histories that many of the characters experienced. While being clear about what had happened, the author's soft touch makes it so the reader doesn't have to relive the trauma. I found the characters to react to events like I would expect real people to, which made it feel more immersive to the reader. The one thing I found hard to believe (spoiler) was the quickness of the engagement, but I guess when you know you know. I would definitely read more from this author.

    This is a wonderful romance that has you pulled in from the beginning. Jules and Cal are well written characters that are real and have you rooting for them.

    It has its share of steam and sizzling romantic tension but it also has so many great tender moments between the main characters and the child Cal finds himself taking care of for his sister. They are so well written and emotionally charged. I just loved that about this story.

    Both characters have their past to overcome and they have plenty of hurdles along the way in their lives but they make each other better when they come together. It doesn't get much better than that.

    I have read a few books by this author and they just keep getting better. Another expertly written story that tugs at the heartstrings while delivering romance and excitement.

    This is a wonderful book--well written. The characters story was well written--the chemistry was believable and just a great story. First in the series so can't wait to see where it goes next.
