- Reviewed in the United States on May 25, 2025I thoroughly love the psychology of this book! It poses so many questions, what ifs and more. Frankly, this deserves a place in a university psychology class! If you strongly oppose child/animal abuse then this isn't for you, but if you want a truly realistic horror story that very well could happen then this is the pentacle!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 17, 2023This book was utterly heartbreaking, as a mother to a 4 year old child I couldn’t imagine putting him, or any child through what Deicide goes though in this book. And god forbid anyone do anything like this to my babies it would be the end of the world. It’s so bittersweet seeing her naïveté and innocence with how much she still loves those around her despite their cruelty. I’m excited to see where her story goes in the rest of this series, will she become an even more active roll alongside her father and grandmother or will she stand down at her own cost? I could see both.
My only complaint would be that sometimes the narrative gets convoluted in which POV you are reading from as Deicide and the narrater will switch multiple times in one page at some parts. Otherwise a great quick read. Forever sad for tickles though 😭

- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2024This book is crazy good. There are people out there raising their kids this way. It takes us into the mind of a child who knows no better, and it is just mind-blowing. She is being raised to believe that this is all okay. I can't wait to see what else she is going to learn and when she will possibly start learning that things at home and Gram's are wrong.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2025This is a book that is only for the ones who read extreme horror. You will listen to your parents to keep from being hurt by them. What an excellent read. I love horror books and this is one for the top of the list.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 11, 2024im so serious, i have no idea what i expected from a killer raising a child lol even though it’s marked as “extreme horror”- a part of me still thought he’d be a monster but still a good dad??? lmao i was not correct. it was not as gorey as i had expected but it was still a wild read.
it’s definitely an interesting premise though. having it read like a 4 year olds diary is harrowing. some parts felt a bit too farfetched to be a thought a child would have but this has never happened before (hopefully) so i get that it’s hard to decide what a child would or wouldnt think in this situation. i almost didnt want to keep reading it but i also couldnt stop reading. i think i need to read the rest now lol

- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2023I’ve never read a story quite like this. I love me some extreme horror and I’ve read child abuse survivor stories and things like that. This is just kind of in it’s own lane. It really makes you think. This is happening and has happened to children in real life. Yes. There is child abuse and animal abuse. There are trigger warnings EVERYWHERE so if you know you can’t handle that, skip this series. It broke my heart, but I think it’s needed to know Deicides story and I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
It really makes you think about rights and wrongs and how we’re taught as children. Deicide is taught that this is the right way of living, she knows no different and I think it’s unique to see that through the child’s point of view. There are a few grammatical mistakes here and there but nothing I couldn’t pass over. I’m excited to see where this goes!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ok
This is very dark but I'm intrigued to see were it goes and the journey the daughter will take but wow.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark and messed up
super intrigued to see how this series plays out and how Deicide grows up. Brings into question nature vs nurture and how will Deicide know actual right from wrong if everything she is being taught is wrong.
While there are definitely triggers in this book, I don’t consider it to be extreme horror, but I am betting the series will become more extreme as it goes on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping......
I got this book as a freebie and really enjoyed it. The story follows a young girl called Deicide whose father is a serial killer and who makes no attempt to hide his twisted desires from his daughter.
The story was gripping and I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars That's me hooked
Oh dear god...what a family !!! The poor kid...the poor dog. I am now invested to see what kind of a nutjob she grows in to. This is a good book but he warned it's extreme horror so there's likely to be something in here to upset folks ...On to book 2
