Damaged musician - that's the understatement of the decade.
I'll bet if I googled those two words, I'd see
his picture.

I've been invited to join his band, Reckless Alibi. His
all-guy band.
The band everyone wants me to be a part of--except him.

He's passionate about music. One might even say obsessed. But as the only woman in the band, when that obsession gets directed at me, I find I may have gotten in way over my head.

Like me, he writes lyrics. His secret journal of songs I found by accident tells me he's not just damaged... he might be destroyed beyond repair.

Guess I'm about to find out.

If you like sexy, angsty romances about brooding overprotective heroes, dive into this delicious novel today. All the feels plus an HEA to boot.

***Reckless Obsession can be read as a standalone romance. It is book one in this rising to fame rock star series.

I wasn’t truly sure what to expect when I downloaded a sample of this book. I’ve read my fair share of rockstar romances and sometimes they can become predictable at some points, BUT not this one! This book was a breath of fresh air as far as rockstar romances go. It is extremely well written and intertwined with Chris’s flashbacks in such an elegant way. I highly recommend this book because you will fall in love with these characters and this story!

There were a lot of things I liked about this book. First of all the characters were so relatable and likable. Immediately from the beginning you realize Bria is a strong woman and the way she stands up for herself is admirable. She knows what she wants and she knows what she stands for. It’s lovely to see a strong character who stands up for herself and others. Throughout the book you continue to not only see her strength, but also see her grow as a character. Speaking of growth... can we talk about Chris??? It’s evident when you meet him that he’s been through some trauma and to see his process of working through it is amazing. His struggles tend to affect his relationship with Bria and it’s pretty refreshing to see the process of someone learning to work through grief and learn to let go. Furthermore, it’s really great to see how much support Chris has as he begins to get his life on track. I think it’s also pretty cool to see the process of a band from when they start out to their rise to the top.

The only thing I’m interested to see in the future is how this band compares to Bria’s former band she sang for, White Poison. I would love to see Reckless Alibi beat them out of a Grammy!! Hopefully the future books in this series will include Bria & Chris’s perspectives again since I’m interested so see how they handle touring and their family lives.

I cannot say enough good things about this book. Download your sample now!!

My first Samantha Christy book and it was a lot of fun.

Crew's story is full of sadness and heart break, especially for someone so young. I love how he comes alive on stage and thru his music.

Seeing his history unfold is heartbreaking and I cried more than once that horrible deep in your throat cry that is reserved for such deep emotions. But his history is not the main plot of this book

Bria is wonderful and has such great chemistry and banter with Crew that she is able thru time to bring Crew with her into the light. And shes not bumbling or annoying in any way. Hes real, imperfect and easily relatable.

    Great Rick start romance.

Bummed there was no Epilogue, but the authors note made since. Just not sure u have the time to read the full series to see what happens to them.

    Two weaknesses in the book
    1. While the chemistry is great the steam is written very amateurishly... I know that's not a word, but you know what I mean.
    2. Brian interactions with her band mates is limited and you dont see the building of the great relationship they have. Especially if the characters will continue from book to book.

Reckless Obsession is The first book in the Reckless Rockstar Series by Samantha Christy and it is a knockout. She, as always, has the most well developed characters and story-lines. I can't wait for the rest of the series.

Ms. Christy is a master of including characters from previous books into her stories. Several Firefighters from the Men on Fire Series, ball players from the Perfect Game Series as well as Mallory from the Mitchell Sisters and Chad from the Stone Brothers all either make an appearance or are mentioned in seemlessly in the story.

The main character Bria is the little sister of Firefighter Brett Cash, from the book Engulfing Emma in the Men on Fire Series. She is a great singer who is not appreciated as a backup singer by a well known group that takes a chance on an unknown band, becoming one of the lead singers, helping to the band make it onto the radio.

The other lead singer in the group Reckless Alibi, known as Crew, was not happy at first having her join the group. He was basically pushed into it by the rest of the band. He did not want her in the band because of his past history. Once they two start singing together, greatness happens and can not be denied. Crew's past is a major obstacle almost throughout the story. Once his whole past story is revealed, you will almost go thru an entire box of Kleenex. I don't think I have cried so much.

You do not need to have read any of Ms. Christy's previous books to enjoy this book or any of her other books but they are like Potato Chips; You can't stop at just one. If you are new, I recommend you start with the Mitchell Sisters, followed by the Stone Brothers, the Perfect Game, and then Men on Fire. You will not regret it.

One of my greatest days in the past few years was meeting Samantha Christ in person. My biggest regret was not getting a picture with her. I am one of her greatest fans and recommend her every chance I get. You can not go wrong with any of her books.

Reckless Obsession KU 386 pgs ***** 3/14/21 Crew & Bria

5 stars! This book gripped me from the very beginning and with each chapter, I was more drawn in. The character building was near perfect, I felt like I knew them like best friends. The chemistry was magnetic and the sex was hot. There wasn’t too much but just the right amount because this story was so good, I didn’t want to miss a single thing going on. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I can’t wait to read the entire series. The other characters, the band members, the manager, the label company, were all written in so well, I felt like I was there and a part of all of their lives. I am most definitely a new fan of Ms. Christy’s and I can’t praise this book more. It will be one of my favorite books to go to when I need a rock story! And that’s another thing I loved about this, the entire book was actually about their lives and their band’s work. It was a near perfect book! So, to prove my point, this book is kindle unlimited but I have also purchased it so I will always have it to read.

And Samantha does it again 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Reckless Obsession the first book in her new series, and what an opener this is.

We’ve already met Bria, Brett Cash’s sister and know she’s off to tour with a major rock band. (if you’ve read Igniting Emma that is, and if not why not!! 😏)

Cash, he’s our new boy on the block and oh what a back story he’s got in store for us.

This was a major pull on the heart strings throughout. The tragedy is sole destroying.

Writing and performing songs isn’t the only thing that bring Bria and Crew together. The chemistry is undeniable, but when you start to deny yourself what you truly need things start to get a bit crazy.

    This one goes deep.

Brilliant storyline, fantastic new characters who we can start to know and love.

Love the fact we now have a whole new group to have interlinked into a new series. And that we get to revisit with old favourites.

Liam is going to be an interesting one. Can’t wait to see where this series takes us. Me thinks it’s going to be a bumpy ride. But hey they’re always the best ones.

I’m really looking forward to the audio release, this is going to be fantastic to listen to.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Traumatic Read But In A Good Way

My goodness, as I turned to write my thoughts on this novel I find I am still a little choked up and have gained puffy, red eyes along the way. This was a highly emotional read for me and I found I wept during certain scenes. There are many a poignant scene written in this tale. Traumatic life events are handled with care. The characterizations are well developed, clearly outlined and oh so believable. There are quite a cast of characters within this tale and yet each character is easily discerned from another. The story is well written, highly emotive and enterining, as the author develops her tale with a number of sub-plots but never loses sight of the main thrust of the story. The reader is immersed in the happenings of the characters, yet not all evolves as one might expect. Well played. Good Stuff!

Loved this - I've binge-read all the box sets through Lockdown from the first with the Mitchell Sisters and haven't been able to put them down. It's amazing how each story is completely different and they've never got boring. Love how all the characters interact and you catch up with them all in the next book. I've got serious withdrawal symptoms now, waiting for the next two in the series to be released!

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something definitely kept me from giving 5 stars. A bit too much angst from Chris/Crew, a bit too much tolerance from Bria and the agent is just a pain in the rear.
