    This is the best Man of the Month book I’ve read thus far. I love the premise, even though I’m not the biggest fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope. The characters were likable and the chemistry between them was to die for. The story’s written in such a way that I had no problem at all with the instalove element a romance novella always entails. The relationship that developed between Lark and Levi progressed in a natural and realistic way. Instalove done the perfectly right way. I highly recommend this book!

    If you’re looking for a short and sweet enemies-to-lovers story, set in a small beach town, then this is what you want to read. Especially if you love the forced proximity trope, because our darling heroine is the highest bidder on a whole-day date with our sexy and broody hero.

    Levi is a grump and Lark is annoying, together they not only make super hot scenes but also a fun, sweet and enjoyable read. Cute characters and an entertaining plot. I like that Lark doesn't get what she wants but something much better. I definitely want to read the Maddox story.

    This wasn't the first Candy Cane Key story that I've read but it was the first work of the author's that I've read. The synopsis gives you a good idea of what to expect. Maybe other readers won't mind as much but I personally found Lark annoying for about half the book. (Honestly she nearly ruined the story for me.) Part of the reason why is because of how she had a negative opinion of Levi all because he wouldn't sell her the land that he owns. (I guess he could've told her the reason why from the start but they weren't exactly friends so he didn't have to share that.) Although Levi liked to keep to himself, I didn't consider him a grump either - only when dealing with Lark & I don't blame him at all for doing so! Once Levi & Lark go on their date & he opens up to her about his plans for his land, Lark becomes tolerable & so do their feelings for each other. So, this may not be the best story, but it's short & I think it has a good end that's acceptable for readers.

    Great Man of the Month first book of 2023! Love when frenemies become lovers. Lark and Levi have a knack of getting on each others nerves. When the two are brought together during a Manuary auction they find that the chemistry between them is off the charts.

    I really enjoyed this small town romance with grumpy Levi and sunshine Lark. It’s not Levi’s fault he’s grumpy, he just doesn’t people well and perky Lark is definitely his opposite. This is also a bit of a enemies to lovers romance. Not that they are truly enemies but Lark wants to buy some of his family’s land, he doesn’t want to sell, and she won’t stop asking. When Levi steps in as his brother’s replacement for a bachelor auction, Lark sees it as a chance to convince him to sell. There is so much more to each side of the story though and you want them both to get their way. Things get really steamy when they start to see each other in a different light. The steam was extremely spicy! These two together were HOT!!! I really loved the conclusion! It played out in a way that I wouldn’t have anticipated but absolutely loved.

    Levi subs for his twin at the Manuary bachelor auction. Poor Maddox for food poisoning and couldn't make the date. Levi hates to mix and mingle but it was for charity after all. Lark has business proposition for the brother and is determined to save her parents Inn. Sparks fly when Levi takes Lark on that date. Funny enemies to lovers take of attraction.
