I was graciously give this book as an arc! Reluctant Husband is book 1 of the Whiskey Men Series. It can be read as a standalone. OUT NOW! Lucas and his brothers run a whiskey business. Being the youngest of the brothers, Lucas has some trauma preventing him from truly opening up his heart. With his grandmother not doing well he promises her the one thing she’s been wishing for. Isabella has been taking care of Granny for a while now. They have a bond that is unmatched. One down fall of working with Granny, Issa is in love with her youngest grandson. She would do anything for Granny, even fake marry Lucas! DEVOURED!! This was a super fun quick paced read! I started and couldn’t stop! I loved Isabella and her love for granny! Lucas fought it as much as he could but come on, what did you expect!! 5/5⭐️ 2.5/5🌶️

    So recently, I read Love Again by Hope Ford, which is the story of Oscar Blaze. Oscar has 5 boys. And SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.. they all have books and I haven't read them yet 🤯! With as many of her books that I have read, I was genuinely shocked to discover this.
    Sweet baby Lucas. I met you as an adorable 4 year old, and you turned into such a clueless man 🤦‍♀️! I mean, I understand fears and insecurities, but what would Lucas have done without Granny there to kick his butt in gear. I loved Lucas and Isabella right from the beginning. The banter. The chemistry. I loved their story, even if i did spend a lot of time scolding Lucas (in my head) 🤣.

    I did like this book . I love Hope Ford , I own almost all her books , but I am just now reading this Whiskey Men series . I read it and then re-read it so I could reread certain things in the book. It was hot , sexy and we just new it would eventually get a HEA. After we knew that Isabella (Bella) would get her heart broke one or two times .
    I feel this could have been a great book but so much was left unsaid and in the dark. It needed more back story on Lucas and how Isabella ended up alone .
    I also feel that Lucas was dense about his secretary Kelly , how many times did he have to be told that she was mean to Bella , and she even made that rude comment to him about her . then her friends tell him the same thing.
    He sees nothing wrong or shady about the fact that she corned Isabella in the bathroom made all those snide comments to her , nope he defended her . he thought nothing about the fact that Kelly called the day after his wedding on a Sunday that there was a problem in the office and he needed to come and he spent all day there with her and things came up one after the other .
    I won't get into the main problem he has because I don't want to give the end of the book away , but when he was hugging Kelly and looked at Bella like she was nothing and then left with Kelly , he didnt think at all again that something was weird about Kelly saying there was yet another problem ..
    Isabella has been in love with Lucas for forever . but not once in this book did she demand respect from him or call him out in all the horrible crap he did. I get it was a "pretend " marriage , but she had NO backbone when it came to him at all

    Isabella is nurse to Lucas’s grandmother who is like family to her. Everyone seems to know that Issi has always been in love with Lucas. Lucas is extremely close to and lives with his Granny, G. Lucas’s mother left his father the day he was born. G raised him and knows his womanizing is to protect his heart because of his mother he believes a woman will leave. When it’s clear his beloved G is close to the end he wants to make her happy and nothing would make her happier than marrying Issi or as he calls her Bella. His brothers are furious because they feel they he will break her heart once it’s over but Issi wants to do it, they want her to be compensated but she refuses saying she’s doing it make G happy. When G dies they find comfort in each other but Lucas handles it badly. I really loved this story because there was just so much love between the characters. I now want to read about Lucas’s brothers! Highly recommend. I flew through this in one day!

    Reluctant Husband is book 1 in the Whiskey Men Series. I have read most if not all of Hope Fords books and am a fan of her sweet, steamy romances.
    Isabella is caring for "G," the founder of Whiskey Run. She was a friend of her late grandmother and has become a friend and grandmother figure to her as well.
    Lucas Blaze is the youngest of the Blaze brothers. G is worried about his future as he and the brothers were abandoned by their mother after his birth, causing trust issues with women. Lucas decides he should marry Isabella to alleviate G's concerns for both of them and grant her dying wish to see them happy. Although he is aware that Bella has feelings for him, he isn't prepared for the feelings that come as he spends time with her.
    As with all Hope Ford books, this is sweet and spicy with tons of chemistry and great characters. The storyline is good, and you know there will be a HEA. Can't wait to start book 2.

    This book follows Isabella and Lucas and is set in Whiskey Run, as are a number of Hope's books.

    Isabella is the caregiver for Lucas Blaze's grandmother G, who was her grandmother's best friend and like a grandmother to her as well. Lucas owns the Whiskey Run Distillery with his four brothers and does not believe in love after his mother has left the family after his birth. His grandmother wants him to be happy and open to love, so he asks Isabella to marry him in order to make her happy. After the marriage, his feelings towards her grow, while she has been in love with him for a while.

    I really enjoyed this novel and the chemistry between the main characters. I have enjoyed Hope's writing for a while and it is great to get a longer story from her. I hope we will get a book for all of Lucas's brothers.
