Remember Arizona: A Second Chance Romance (Country Love Collection) Kindle Edition
Rule #1: Don’t fall in love with your best friend.
Tally Kerr broke Rule #1 over a decade ago—a mistake that ended in the worst way possible.
Rule #2: Don’t date an artist.
Tally recently broke Rule #2, and the artist broke up with her. The consequence? She’s stuck curating a three-week exhibit for the jerk. The only thing worse than dealing with him and his new girlfriend are the pity looks from the other artists.
So, she calls in a favor from her former best friend.
Sam Deschenes didn’t expect to see Tally again. And he knows he’s to blame. So when she says she’s coming to town and needs his help, Sam can’t say no—not even when she asks him to be her pretend boyfriend.
Tally wants nothing more than to forget Arizona which is why this charade is critical. She’ll replace all her memories with fake ones and prove she never really loved Sam.
But as the days tick by, remembering Arizona—and all the reasons she fell for her best friend—come too easily. When their scorching desire incinerates the line between real and fake, will Tally keep up the act or will she break rule number one all over again?

About the author

Rebecca Sharp always loved a good love story. Let's face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn't!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. There's really no corner of romance that she doesn't (or wouldn't) enjoy writing, except maybe aliens, much to her husband's dismay, so her large catalog features a little something for everyone. However, her love of shows like NCIS and Criminal Minds makes her favorite stories to write the ones with some kind of suspense and crime solving.
When she's not writing, she's at her office treating patients, and somewhere between those two things, you'll find her wandering the globe with her husband always searching for their next adventure.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really like Rebecca Sharp books, honestly I don’t think that I have read one that I didn’t enjoy. I really do like the Country Love series, most of them are just quick reads but still having a really good story. This is a second chance romance, and a friends to lovers romance, and honestly I really just like it.
Sam and Tally were really close friends growing up, spending every summer together. They had big plans for their lives once Tally graduated. Of course the book wouldn’t work if things worked out like they planned, so basically everything implodes, and they go years without having any kind of friendship other than the occasional text.
I really like the whole fake relationship, where Tally is trying to save face with her cheating ex-boyfriend. Can I just say the ex-boyfriend is the most obnoxious person ever, I mean I can’t imagine what she possible could have seen in this dude, he is the worst. He like goes out of his way to make Tally feel bad, to embarrass her in front of people she knows and/or is trying to have a professional relationship with, basically I hated this dude. And the chick he cheated with and decided to be with instead of Tally just seems like an air-head who is only interested in selfies (think of the vapid girl who needs a selfie next to a cliff and then falls off).
Sam and Tally’s relationship is this great evolution in the book. The are a lot of hurt feelings from Tally’s side of things, but honestly there is no bad guy in this scenario at all. They have a great dynamic, I loved the sexual tension between these two, and when they finally come together, it’s great. They really do light up the page. There are also some really great supporting characters in this book, Tally’s grandmother and the artist friend come to mind. I thought there was a lot of detail about the artist community, which I think was great work by the author. I mean she captured Arizona amazingly, I could really paint a picture in my head of the scenery and the community. This was definitely another winner for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2021Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseAs a country music junkie I had been wanting to read this series inspired by country songs, and as an Arizona native it made sense that this be the one I start with! I was expecting a fun read but this story ended up being so much more than that!
I don’t think Arizona is the most popular book setting, but especially Bisbee, Arizona, a place most people have probably never heard of. It’s described in such a beautiful way, you feel like you are there yourself seeing all the different things to see there. I loved that the author included a lot about the Navajo heritage. It’s not only an important part of Arizona, but also the hero, Sam, grows up on a reservation near Bisbee, so an important part of him as well.
This is a slow burn, childhood best friend, second chance story, and although I feel like second chance romances are always a little emotional, this one really pulled at my heart. I felt like I could physically feel the heartbreak between Sam and Tally. While a misunderstanding kept them apart for the better part of a decade, once they see each other again (and pretend to be in a fake relationship) we start to find out that things aren’t as they seemed, at least from Tally’s point of view. Tally is strong and independent and given all she had been through I could totally understand her hesitancy on starting anything with Sam, but Sam is just perfect with how patient and sweet he is, and his need to take care of everyone. I cried a few different times, but I was definitely smiling by the end as they found their HEA.
For someone like me who doesn’t always love a ton of angst, this was probably the perfect amount for me. Throw in a funny grandma, some steamy parts (you have to wait a bit for those but the wait is worth it), and this book is everything I didn’t know I needed!

- Reviewed in the United States on June 9, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseBest friends every summer, Tally and Sam were unstoppable. They had big plans to go to New York together for college until Sam shattered Tally’s world and stayed in Arizona. Tally is building a career for herself in New York but isn’t really happy. Her latest project is allowing her to stage an art exhibit in Bisbee, which will be the first time she has returned home in 10 years. What she didn’t expect is to need a favor from her former best friend to be her pretend boyfriend. Sam had to make a tough decision for his family when he pushed Tally away. But his heart never stopped loving or missing her. But will she forgive him for pushing her away? I had fun with Tally and Sam. These two were kindred spirits from the start but forgiving isn’t always easy. Sam though is persistent and patient.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2021Format: KindleI've enjoyed most of the Country Love series and really thought I would love this one since it is set in Arizona and Bisbee which isn't a common backdrop for a story, but I really didn't connect with the characters in this one.
I get that Tally and Sam were young and had some miscommunication, but for such a strong friendship - to not even try to get in touch with each other at some point - that just didn't ring true. And there is one scene when they do get back together that just pulled me right out of the story.
I'm bummed because I loved the Arizona factoids in the story and Bisbee is a neat town to have a setting for a novel.
I'm sure I'll have better luck with the next one.
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
