4.3 out of 5 stars 3,592 ratings

The intense action thriller from million copy bestseller Rob Sinclair, perfect for fans of Mark Dawson

This mission will test him to his limit...

When a simple surveillance mission goes awry and the key target is kidnapped in broad daylight in a busy London square, James Ryker, a veteran intelligence agent now working for the secretive Joint Intelligence agency, knows he has his work cut out.

Ryker is tasked with figuring out what went wrong. But when his good friend Sam Moreno disappears without a trace, the mission becomes more personal than he could have imagined.

Torn between toeing the government line, and finding the answers he needs, Ryker realises there’s only one way to find those responsible and to punish them... His way.

Readers can't get enough of Rob Sinclair's gripping thrillers:

'A cracking thriller with a Reacheresque hero you can't help but root for!' – John Ryder

Wow, what a book, I loved it!! Rob Sinclair has an innate ability to draw you in and take you on an amazing ride, the character of agent Carl Logan is so authentic and Sinclair portrays him particularly well. All the characters in this story are well developed, the plot is fast paced, intriguing and totally entertaining. I really can't recommend this book highly enough.‘ – Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

OMG ,OMG, OMG I was bouncing off the walls when I realised Carl Logan is back with a new identity in a brand new series. After being gutted when the Enemy series ended. Just in case you didn't know I am a massive fan... lol. But Rob Sinclair has pulled out all the punches with this latest story, it is without a doubt his best book yet….. I freaking loved it.’ – Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would think Rob Sinclair might rival some of the greats in his field. His writing is tight, current and gripping. He weaves easily between settings and great characters –there appear to be quite a few. And the pace is compelling. This all leads on to a most excellent ending.’– Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘Crikey The Red Cobra opens with an action packed scene and it pretty well doesn’t let up for the rest of the novel. Short chapters with cliffhanger endings add a breathless pace so that The Red Cobra is a really exciting read. I genuinely found it heart-thumpingly exciting and the events even pervaded my dreams at night! There’s quite a bit of violence but Rob Sinclair also knows less is more so he is a master of suggestion as well as description making for an elevated pulse rate in his readers. The Red Cobra is exciting, well written and absorbing – definitely a ‘can’t put it down thriller’. I loved it.’– Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘The Red Cobra is one fast paced, action packed, thrill of a read. It is actually screaming out to be put on the big screen. Who needs Lara Croft when you have The Red Cobra? Without a doubt this is a fantastic start to a new series and I am literally counting the days down until the author quenches my thirst for more.’– Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

'This book is perfect for the fans of Robert Ludlum, Jim Grant and early James Patterson works.' – Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘Brilliantly crafted high-octane thriller with echoes of Robert Ludlum’s infamous Bourne novels!’– Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

‘I can highly recommend this brilliant book by the master of action, Rob Sinclair.’– Goodreads reviewer ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The murky world of intelligence gathering, covert operations and the bloodshed and death that surrounds it.Ryker, former covert operator, and JIA operative does the type of work M15 and M16 are incapable of doing. Extreme wealth has it's privileges. Anyone can be bought if the bribe or price is right. This is an extremely fast paced and well written action thriller. In its conclusion a tighter reign will be put on Britains investigative branches. An excellent read!!

It seems like two books written together. You can't pull them into each other until the last few chapters. Then you find they are in different time spans. Then you can pull them together only to have it fall apart in the last chapter.

Not as hard hitting, a sort of bipolar approach to Ryker. It felt like he was of two minds, and a tear in his eye was out of character.

In the beginning the story had plenty of action. However it became very unbelievable that one mans body could take so. Much punishment. Then the story became repetitive and boring

Loved the initial series of this character. The first book in this new series is wonderful and I want to see just where this is taken.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best thrillers currently out there

James Ryker formerly known as Carl Logan has ended up as a freelancing intelligence specialist. He is well versed in the arts of spying, lying and killing but when he signs up to consult MI5 on a routine surveillance mission, little does he know about the devastating long-term impact it will have on him and the only two people he truly cares about...

Rob Sinclair is by now a well-known name in the action thriller genre and rightly so! With his first novel DANCE WITH THE ENEMY Sinclair already established himself as a master of fast paced espionage action with plenty of unexpected twists and turns.

His latest novel though is also his best one to date. From the exhilarating opening sequence in central London to the heart-pounding climax in Trieste Sinclair always keeps the action and the flow of the story at the maximum. The pacing is just perfect, with great characters, a complex but not unnecessary complicated storyline and a couple of spell-bending twists that I never saw coming. It’s still relatively early in the year but this one is already shaping up as one of my favourite reads. Don’t miss it!

Fast paced action all the way with Ryker. Loving the series. Would highly recommend to anyone who likes Reacher, or any of the other " good assassins" out there watching our backs and keeping us all safe. Well written. Very descriptive.

The storyline dives straight into the action from the 1st page to the last page. Ryker is a machine for justice, there seems to be no possible way to stop him find the truth. This is up there with the best thriller writers.
