- Reviewed in the United States on March 27, 2021This a dark story, beauty met the beast. The plot is not original, the hero Santiago wants revenge for what he believe the heroine Ivy father did to him resulting in the fatal explosion in which he lost his brother and father, also scaring him. So he married the enemy daughter to break her to make her pay. From what I gather Santiago does not have all the facts of the cause of the explosion. The true enemies are in his backyard. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Santiago belongs to a cult/mafia society where women are treated a second class citizens, the male rules. Ivy born into the lower class of this society is not even allowed to have a say in who she marry, now forced to marry Santiago who cannot at times see beyond his revenge treats her badly with dominance, cruelty, and humiliation all in the name of revenge, which is served cold. I hope Santiago can redeem himself. Because his treatment of his wife ivy was atrocious. From what I gather his father was just as abusive to him as he is to his wife. Why ivy have any feelings or attraction towards Santiago is beyond me, he proved in his club scene treatment of her just what little he cared about her well-being and also on their wedding night. I’m glad she woke up and started to fight for herself, because nobody seems to be fighting for her. This innocent young woman is made to suffer at the hands of others especially her husband. I waiting to see if Santiago will redeem himself, he does not deserve Ivy as his wife. I hope her piece of s😭it brother get what coming to him, please don’t let it be easy and Santiago sister as well, spoiled rich bi😂ch needs to be brought down a few notches. I don’t trust her at all. Great story looking forward for the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2024This was a re-read. Santiago's scar and the mask he wears as well as the mask he makes his bride wear are truly unique for this trope. The hardcore pain mixed with pleasure is very dark in this book. You don't know weather to feel bad for his bride who would rather be anyone other than his bride gets a cane across her feet or hungry to turn the page for part two of her punishment. He hates her family and to get back at her father he takes her and gains pleasure in punishing her frequently wanting to break her but she doesn't. This book ends on a cliffhanger witch I don't love but will inhale the next b regardless. A solid read and re-read. I love Zavarelli and expect nothing less

Requiem Of The Soul gives me Beauty and the beast and The phantom of the opera vibes, it's a dark, and steamy fairy tale, I devour this book in a day it was soo.. good I was glued to it all day. Seriously I need the second part like now, that ending was freaking shocking. This series will be the end of me. A. Zavarelli and Natasha Knight are the perfect duo, they create the best stories, honestly I could read anything they write, no blurbs or covers needed.
"You’d have to be human to feel pain, and Santiago De La Rosa is not human. He is the devil."
Damn Santiago De La Rosa 🤤 he can trapped in his manor whenever he wants, I'll be more than happy to be punish by him.
Santiago is cruel and ruthless, after losing his father and brother in a tragic "accident" he will seek revenge, and he will make the family responsible for their deaths pay for it, starting with Ivy Moreno his future wife and the future mother of his heirs, he will marry her and make her suffer or at least that was his plan before meeting his sassy future wife.
"The clock on the mantel ticks down the seconds, the hours dwindling away and sealing her fate. Tonight, at the stroke of midnight, Ivy Moreno will be my wife."
Ivy Moreno loves her family and she'd do anything to keep them safe even if she has to marry a man she has only seen once in her life, a man that wants to destroy her family and make her pay for the sins of her father, he's evil and cold but things are about to change now that she's in his life.
Ivy is amazing she's sassy and innocent at the same time, it's hard not to love her.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2024So the story starts out interesting and I really liked Ivy. Santiago is just meh. I honestly think he was a tool bag and I’m hoping for redemption in the next book. My biggest issue is that this book has a lot of unnecessary descriptions. Like two pages to describe rooms and houses and things that just seem to be helping word count. I really hope Ivy gets some justice and she makes him beg
- Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2023OMG. I read the next book in this series by mistake, I mean the next story which is about Mercedes wondering about Santiago and Ivy. I had no idea. Poor Ivy but I love how she still had fight in her even after she fainted. She gave him the cold shoulder as he deserved, when someone gives up on you and you mean nothing to the, it really hits you hard. Santiago felt that. I am so proud of her dishing it out to him. Now I am dieing to get to the next book. This is another must read by these authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn’t put it down
This book is so amazing. I finished it and instantly went to Amazon to purchase the second Ebook in the trilogy and then stayed up until 4:30am reading the whole second book. The story line is so captivating and the characters seem so real within the writing you can feel their emotions. I’m sad to be on the third book now because I don’t want it to end. I need more of Santiago and his damaged soul. And ivy and the light she brings into his life. This is the perfect enemies to lovers book.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW
I expected good things from this book. What I got was incredible.
The world of The Society is dark and secretive, steeped in tradition and blood. Everyone has an agenda and is treading on the hands of those lower than them to advance. In this world we meet Santiago and Ivy.
Their story is part Beauty and the Beast, part Phantom of the Opera, part Cinderella. They are determined to hate each other but are drawn to each other like moths to a flame. All we can tell so far is that there’s a deeper game being played that neither Santiago nor Ivy seem to know about it. I can’t wait to read more about this world and see how the players and pieces line up against each other. Super dark, super steamy - check your triggers and read responsibly.

Since I’ve read my first novel by Natasha Knight a few weeks ago, I found myself a new dark romance author to obsess over. When I heard of her collaboration with A. Zavarelli (new author to me) on The Society Trilogy I was thrilled. The blurb had me sold already and Requiem of the Soul reached all my expectations. This story was dark, violent, decadent with touches of softer emotions.
The authors created a world of power and indecency where we first meet Ivy Moreno on her wedding day to the sinister Santiago de la Rosa. This union is an act of vengeance on the Moreno family from Santiago’s part, but his little wife brings some unforeseen feelings in him. The man is chilling, dangerous, mysterious and vindictive. He imposes respect and dominance. I loved his multi-faceted personality where I could catch glimpses of a caring person under the hard exterior. He wants to hurt Ivy, and yes he does it repetedly, but he also has remorses at some of his actions. He’s not so unaffected by her suffering at his hands. I enjoyed seeing him conflicted by his treatments and proving he’s not all monster.
"𝑼𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒚 𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒆, 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔. 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒐𝒘𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒅."
Ivy never had a choice about her future. She’s always felt a prisoner of this life in The Society and it’s more than apparent with her new matronial status that she won’t escape her fate. She unwillingly accepts her nuptials and gradually unveils a new side of her husband. Yes, he’s callous and has twisted desires, but she has an undeniable attraction toward him that she can’t deny. She’s strong and defiant when faced with his heartlessness. These little acts of rebellion only create an explosive atmosphere that leads to scorching hot moments. I lived for the moments where Ivy demonstrate her stubbornness.
This partnership between Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli was marvelous! They shaped a fascinating universe full of secrecy, prestige and sinfulness that had me enthralled! There's still a lot of mystery surrounding The Society that I need to discover. I was hooked on Requiem of the Soul from start to finish and the last chapter came with exhilarating and sudden surprises! Seriously, O.M.G! I need book two now to get some answers!

2.0 out of 5 stars Sauer 😤
