Bought this book on recommendation. It is the first book published by S J Clarke and I was not disappointed. It covers the cultural and spiritual side of Mai Thai boxing as well as the corruption in the sport. The book is an ideal book for teenagers as well as adults. An enjoyable read and would also certainly recommend this book.

Loved every minute of this book. Not only are the fight scenes incredible but it really transports you to Thailand. Ringside Gamble is a magical and well-researched book. I hope there is a sequel.

What a unique read. I couldn't put it down. This book doesn't just bring you on a journey through Thailand but on a journey with Nong, seeing the world through his eyes and firmly implanting you in his heart... a touching story of hope and triumph, beautifully written by SJ Clarke.

This little gem of a book is a joyous coming of age story that doesn't shy away from the harsh realities of life. This book is as much a love letter to Thailand as it is to the sport of Muay Thai boxing. It will engage all your senses in its description of the sights, smells and flavours of Thailand (be prepared to get hungry with the descriptions of Thai food!). You will feel like you're living in the mind and imagination of a young boy as you travel with him on his journey, both physical and spiritual, and you'll experience what it takes to commit yourself heart and soul to training for a sport that you love. You'll lose yourself in this world, and find yourself cheering the young group to a deeply satisfying and emotional conclusion.
