Rogue Ascension: Book 2: A Progression LitRPG Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 3,161 ratings

[Last time in Multiverse Z!] A Shade Dragon Rogue stirs up trouble with the biggest bounty hunt on his head.

Joey's new apocalypse life integrated and initialized by the system of Multiverse Z turned him into a Great Adventurer. He gained a quest to help a war princess defeat an epic boss monster, and he's going to need the best adventurers around to build a raid army and secure some sweet, sweet achievements. How does he do it?

He puts a bounty on his own head for a
"catch me if you can" style quest.

As beginner adventurers, great and steady, hunt after Joey, the
Shade Dragon Rogue and his friends race north to investigate a mysterious operation at a ruined temple containing clues involving devils and dungeons. This can further level up Joey's profile of shadow, necromancy, and dragon magic on top of making him more of a menace as an overpowered battle rogue.

Follow Joey in the continuation of an
apocalypse isekai story with strong progression and LitRPG elements. He’ll explore an ancient temple, face off against monster hordes, and fight an organization of haters. He’ll search for lost dungeons and overcome devilish mysteries while being chased by thousands of adventurers.

This may lead to Joey's
evolution, where he'll gain more shady dragon magic and new skill upgrades. As long as he can survive crushing challenges that aren't meant to be faced solo.

[Welcome back to Multiverse Z!]

I am enjoying this book so much. It is my favorite litrpg book so far. Joey is just the right amount of ruthlessness and hero . It’s fun tagging along on his adventures and hearing the growth of this shadow dragon has been the best

Very enjoyable story. Not just something to read to kill time. Mc is young and arrogant, but if you can accept that as part of his character. The writer did a good job creating Mc. He does have many sides not only being young and arrogant the way he interacts with the other characters help flesh him out. In my opinion how characters interact I'd the most important way to rate a story.

In book two we have Joey once again adventuring, but with a twist. He connected with a dragon spirit in book one and now people are ominously talking about the 'dragon's price'. He will soon come to find out what that means.

Meanwhile, he sets a bounty on himself once he's reached land in hopes of meeting a quest set by the war princess. The bounty quickly escalates, and he keeps escaping by the skin of his teeth. He discovers what part demons play in this world, and he enters a dungeon with a number of questlines.

Both book one and two are a lot of fun. The action is fast, and that keeps the story ever moving forward. He does have a level of snark that may or may not annoy certain people, but for me it was fine. The editing is okay but because the story moves so quickly I didn't care as much as I might have.

I'm looking forward to book three. 5/5*

Joey's having a time trying to beat the dungeon within the dungeon. His challenges keep building while he keeps getting stronger.
Outside the dungeon awates an army of adventures waiting for Joey to emerge from the 2nd dungeon to capture or kill him for the bounty that is continuing to rise in the inevitable outcome.
Joey is still fighting to become stronger, but he is also fighting internal problems from his past and how its effecting his current abilities.

Fun read and I need more!!!

I really enjoyed the first book, but with the dip in reviews for this one I wasn’t expecting it to live up to the hype. But it did! This series just keeps getting better and I’m finding it hard to put the books down. I’m really looking forward to book 3 coming out in the next few days. The writer tries a different style with this book and I think it works extremely well, and opens up the reader to a lot of questions surrounding the creation of multiverse Z. I can’t wait to see where the story goes in book 3

Not as polished as the first book but still good enough to continue. Really hoping that the next book doesn’t drop in quality again or these reviews certainly will.
