About the author

Kylie is still very young at heart. She loves writing about first crushes, first kisses and first loves.
She lives near the mountains (in New Zealand), and loves walking alongside the river, which is where she dreams up her stories. Other things she likes are her two cats, Toby and Steve, chocolate in any form and watching sunsets at the beach.

Kylie Key
Chase is pretty full of himself. Think’s he’s pretty important. He gets grounded and has a bit of a turnaround.
Angelina hates the fact she has to get her chemo over Christmas break as she’d rather be helping out at home.
This story is wonderful as the characters grow. Chase comes to realize things are more important than playing all the time.
This is a book I’d love my children and grandchildren to read. What I see available for YA is not encouraging, but Kylie Key can be trusted!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 31, 2020Angelina is a cancer patient at Christmas time. Chase is the mayor's son, "punished" for his crimes. He has to volunteer 50 hours at the hospital. Chance meeting, mistaken identity, and more. Can these two find love in a hospital at Christmas time? Fall in love with all the children and fell the to magic of Christmas:) Happy Reading!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2024This was a sweet story about hope and change. It was enjoyable, although it was more about the male main character's growth rather than the romance. I would have liked to see more banter and conversations between the MCs to create that fun tension and anticipation I love in a romance, but it was still a cute read. There was quite a bit of sadness as well with the cancer situation and the other kids in the hospital, so with the serious topics and lack of romance building, I just didn't love this one. Kylie Key is still an auto-read for me though.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2020Angel is such a strong, sweet character. I felt her emotions deeply. Chase became a changed person. I loved that his perspective changed when he volunteered at the hospital. I was good to see him turn his life around and become less self centered. I like that the characters' problems very true to life problems.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2020I loved this book! I liked the characters and their interactions with their families. I laughed and cried and enjoyed this book so much. Usually I read it on KU, but I bought this book!! Kylie is a great author and I’ve enjoyed all of her books!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2020This sweet story made me cry and then made me smile. I love a hero that learns how to love a girl, even when she’s sick.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2021This was a sweet story about two teenagers and their individual struggles. This is a good read for the young and young at heart.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2024Love, love, love this book. I knew I would; I have yet to be disappointed in a book by this author. I would put Chase Masters right up there with Tennessee and Cullen and Phoenix, some of her other MMCs. And, I adore the name Chase. It's one of my favorites.
What makes this book so great for me, though, is the way Chase comes to grips with who he is, really, and who he wants to be - a guy that Angelina, a cancer patient at the hospital he's volunteering at, can count on. The scenes with his younger twin sisters are cute, and I like how he learns to become a bigger part in their lives, and to appreciate his parents.
Overall, this is one of my favorite YA romances I've read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth your time!
Another great book by Kylie Key. I've enjoyed all her books so far. She deals with some deep issues common to teens (and us all) in a caring and helpful way. I also appreciated that even though it's a teen book it's not all about parties and hooking up. Can't wait for more books Kylie.
