Sweet Hockey Romance
I’m in my hockey romance era, so of course I couldn’t wait to read this one! Travis and Becca are absolutely adorable together, I love that they are both total sci fi nerds, especially the Star Wars references. They’re meet cute was so fun, and you get so many glimpses of what life is like for famous hockey players and their families. There are mentions of some of Ginny’s other series books, but if you haven’t read them, don’t stress. I mean, go back and read them later, but you don’t need to read them first. The characters are really well done, there’s just enough drama, there’s no 2nd period breakup, just lots of super sweet moments and some family drama to make it interesting!

    I'm generally not big on "Insta-love," but this one was too sweet and perfect. This is a closed-door, dual POV, swoony kisses, Nerdy hockey player, nerdy woman, second meet cute craziness, meddling friends and family, and some real-life hockey scenes. Becca takes care of Travis, and it is the sweetest thing ever. This is Ginny's first hockey book, but thankfully, it won't be her last. I can't wait to see what she has in store for the other players on this team!

    This book is exactly what was promised, a sugary sweet, perfectly clean, closed door romance. No cursing, a teeny bit of kissing, and very low angst.

    That being said, I was fairly bored. There is no build up to anything, no real conflict (unless you count meeting the family?) and everything just chugs along. Everything happens and is perfectly sweet, but also fairly flat.

    There were a few spots where the conversation got a but confusing, almost like the author changed a sentence but didn't change the reply, and I found my self going back to reread the paragraphs before it to make sure I hadn't missed anything.
