Samantha Young writes amazing suspenseful romances and I always love reading her new books. I love how we get tidbits of information of all these characters throughout the series, even before it gets to their book. Like we have heard about Allegra and Jared in multiple books in this series so it was so fun to finally get to their story. Jared and Allegra meet five years earlier and are about to head home together when Jared finds out just who Allegra is. In those five years they have seen each other but never really interacted much, until we get to the present and both Jared and Allegra need help. They decide a marriage of convenience will help both parties and that everything will be fake. Can these two really stick to fake feelings when things start to heat up between them? And who just so happens to be targeting the farm? I think this book was so fun to read and I loved seeing Jared and Allegra slowly start to see each other in a new light. I loved hearing their back stories and both of them have been through so much. I loved that they really only are their true self when they are with each other. I think the suspense in the book was great. It is similar to the other books, but still a really great read. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

    This talented wordsmith won me over to all things Highlands with the first romance I read set in Ardnoch, Scotland. I fell in love with the beautiful scenery, the quaint town, the warm characters, and yes, the kilted hotties with the delicious brogues. In no time at all this place feels like home and its people like friends and family.

    Allegra Howard feels the same way, and she goes to Scotland as often as she can for as long as she can to visit her sister. Or that's what she tells Customs, who are now telling her they think she's trying to live in Scotland without going through the proper channels. It was nice to see the progression of their relationship from strangers to friends to so much more. I loved how we got more of Jared and Allegra as individuals and really diving into who they are. And the romance was heartfelt. These two were really good together. The love and the care and the deep connection was evident. Their chemistry was on point. They had pleasant banter and interactions. I liked Jared and Allegra together. What a fantastic couple. I also loved seeing the previous couples and also the Adairs in the book. Everyone is truly a family and it was so wonderful to get that aspect. I also loved how the author gave us the town and its surroundings as major characters. I truly felt like I was there with how vivid and artistic the descriptions were. I was heavily engaged with Skies Over Caledonia and couldn't get enough of the story. I am so excited for the last two books in the Highlands series. I know Samanatha Young is going to knock it out of the park.

Jared had a rough time with his parents, and was essentially saved by his grandfather who gave him a place to live and a job. When his grandfather died he left him the family farm which he is putting his all into saving. Allegra is the youngest daughter of celebrity parents and from afar seems to have it all, but in reality has been through some really difficult and tragic circumstances. Her only safe place is wherever her sister is, but since that is in Scotland, she is in jeopardy of not being allowed back in after her current visit ends. Allegra comes up with a plan that will help her to stay in Scotland and save Jared's farm - marry Jared and invest in his farm.

    Allegra and Jared have always danced around a mutual attraction. Jared has no plans to settle down and has always kept Allegra at arms length. Now they are living in the same home, newly married and pretending for the world that they are in love. I really enjoy love stories where the couple is thrown together and have to dance around each other and their feelings as they work through things. This author is fabulous at giving us fully fleshed out characters and because of each of their families we also got to spend time with some of the characters from previous books and they were so deftly intertwined into this story. I loved how I could really feel Allegra and Jared's angst and turmoil at times and their love story was really just beautiful.

    Skies Over Caledonia also has a bit of a mystery running throughout it, as do all the previous books in these series. I really enjoyed this one, especially because I hadn't guessed at all where the ultimate danger was coming from and I love when I'm surprised in that way. We also get a little glimpse in this story of Callie and Lewis, who we first met in earlier books and whose book, Norther Twilight, I am now eagerly anticipating!

    Ally is so much more than “just rebellious”: her life was insanely hard and painful for a girl her age. Her demeanor is completely justified. She’s just a woman seeking for her safe place.
    We saw another side of Jared with his cousin Sarah previously, but Jared as a husband is PERFECTION ✨ To honor his granddad legacy, Jared is capable of everything, including marrying a woman he’s deepley atracted to. He didn’t inspire me too much trust at first, but his actions proved me wrong.
    Ok, Jared’s not perfect, but neitheir is Ally, so in their imperfections they found trust, hapiness and safety in love again, all the things dreams are made of.
    The suspense moments highlightened the romance, and this series has the perfect amount of action and suspense, as always.
    With lots of “my wife” moments (and an unforgetable “puck it” moment🥵), this story won my heart.
    They’re passionate, explosive, a beautiful chaos I loved to read.

    J’adore cette série de Samantha Young et j’attendais avec énormément d’impatience ce tome sur Jared et Allegra. Alors autant dire que quand j’ai eu la chance de recevoir une copie en ARC, je n’ai pas perdu de temps à me plonger dedans. On retrouve donc Allegra, la petite soeur d’Aria (protagoniste du tome 2 « Among the Heather« ), fille d’un célébre réalisateur et d’une mannequin, ainsi que Jared, le cousin de Sarah (protagoniste du tome précédent), fermier écossais un peu bourru. Tous deux sont des conditions précaires: Allegra n’aura bientôt plus le droit de rester en Ecosse, ce qui veut dire ne plus voir sa soeur dont elle est très proche. Quant à Jared, il pourrait perdre la ferme qu’il a hérité de son grand-père et à laquelle il tient plus que tout. Mais une solution pourrait bien les aider: un faux mariage. Ainsi Allegra obtient un titre de séjour, et en échange, elle aide financièrement Jared afin qu’il ne perde pas la ferme. Un arrangement risqué, d’autant plus qu’Allegra a des sentiments pour Jared… Qui lui garde ses distances. Elle ne s’attendait donc pas à ce qu’il accepte mais Jared est au pied du mur. Commence alors le début de leur mascarade. D’autant plus qu’ils doivent être crédibles s’ils ne veulent pas avoir de problèmes avec la loi… Les débuts sont difficiles, mais l’alchimie entre eux devient de plus en plus irrésistible. Seulement leurs démons les retiennent tous les deux, et quand des menaces tombent sur la ferme, ils devront choisir s’ils sont prêts à tout risquer pour ce qu’il y a entre eux…

    Jared et Allegra sont vraimen très touchants.
    Allegra est décidée, elle ne se laisse pas marcher sur les pieds et c’est une excellente artiste. Mais derrière cette façade elle cache une grande fragilité et un passé difficile qui la rende très touchante.
    Jared est solitaire et très bourru. On pourrait penser qu’il n’est pas attachant mais c’est tout le contraire. Car lorsque l’on arrive à passer cette façade on découvre quelqu’un de très loyal, fidèle, à l’écoute et protecteur. Lui aussi à un passé difficile qui explique beaucoup sur sa façon d’agir.
    La relation entre eux est très émouvante, avec beaucoup de profondeur mais aussi de l’humour et des moments sexys. Ils s’apportent énormément l’un à l’autre.
    La trame est vraiment bien. J’adore les faux mariages/ fausses relation. D’autant plus qu’ici l’intrigue est très bien menée avec du suspens, de l’humour et des émotions. On a vraiment pas le temps de s’ennuyer.
    J’ai adoré retrouver les personnages des tomes précédents ainsi que l’Ecosse dont le caractère sauvage si particulier est toujours aussi bien retranscrit dans les romans de Samantha Young. Mon seul petit reproche (qui n’en est pas vraiment un) est que je trouve que l’on ne voit pas assez la famille Adair qui est la famille centrale de ce petit village des Highlands. Mais ils seront certainement plus présents dans le tome suivant qui sort en août et qui porte sur la prochaine génération des Adair: notamment sur Lewis, le fils de Thane (protagoniste de « There With You« , tome 2 de la série « Adair Family » ) et Callie, la fille de Sloane (protagoniste du tome 1 « Beyond the Thistles« ). J’ai très hâte de le lire!
    En attendant je vous recommande très vivement ce tome ainsi que les précédents. C’est une série qui mêle romance, suspens, famille et tout cela au coeur des Highlands.

The angst and sexual tension between the couple were worth the read. 😍 Jared, though initially didn't make me happy, later proved to be the perfect husband for Allegra. He stood up for her like no one else. Allegra was just so sweet. The whole rebellious rich daughter persona was just a facade. She was actually a lovely person who would do anything for her loved ones. 💖 I loved their chemistry, how they supported each other, and the love between them was beautiful. 💕 This series is just getting better and better. Can't wait for Callie and Lewis's story. 📚✨

    Skies Over Caledonia is an incredible romance that made me feel all the emotions! It’s five years after the end of the previous book and we follow Allegra and Jared. Allegra is desperate to find a way to stay in Scotland and Jared needs money to save his farm. In comes a marriage of convenience between these two people who try to deny their growing feelings for each other until they can’t.
    Allegra and Jared might be from totally different worlds but they are perfect for each other! Jared knows who he is, a hard worker, is quiet yet can be so sweet. Allegra has been through some tough times but she’s still compassionate, is a happy person, and is down to earth. I adore how they become a safe space for each other because they both deserve to have someone who’s always there.
    Now I have to mention the f it moment because it's perfection and so so 🥵! In addition to some very spicy scenes, Jared and Allegra have adorable moments that had me giggling, and some serious and sad moments that had my heart breaking for them.
    Like the rest of this series, there’s a suspense element. What happens is terribly sad. However, I did enjoy how what happens brings out Allegra’s fierceness and Jared’s protective side.
    I absolutely love this story, this town, and all these characters. I’m very excited for the next book!

    This book was everything I hoped for and more! My new favourite of the series!

    This was a small town romance set in the highlands of Scotland. We have a marriage of convenience with some unrequited love and a hint of suspense!

    Allegra is the daughter of a wealthy film director, she spends majority of her time in Scotland with her sister when she wasn’t in art school in the US. On a visit back to Scotland she finds out that her entry may denied next time due to them thinking she’s living here on a tourist visa. Scotland feels like home to her and she’ll do anything to stay, including marrying a guy she’s had feelings for ages but he’s never shown any interest in her.

    Jared loves working and owning his late grandfathers farm but when he has a bad season and his deadbeat father comes back to town to dispute the will, he’s looking for anything to get his father off his back and to save his farm. When he drunkenly tells Allegra one night she comes up with a solution for both of them, they’ll get married so she can help his farm with her inheritance and by being his wife she can stay in the country.

    This is one the best marriage of conveniences books I’ve read in ages! We get so many “my wife” moments that had me squealing like a school girl! While Allegra has always had feelings for Jared, Jared has been hiding his attraction to her but when weeks of living together constantly put them together he can no longer resist! That moment when he says “f it” was amazing! They had amazing chemistry both in and out of the bedroom. They make such an amazing couple!

    I could go on and on about how much I love this book but honestly you just need to read it for yourself! Once I started I could not put it down!

    Oh and I was not expecting the next book to be about certain couple but I am now even more excited for it!
