"I see you're perfecting your stalking skills," Brando says, materializing at my side. I'm outside watching the kids on the playground while Sierra, Serena, and Natalia—Ben's sister—take a stroll in the near distance. Ben's property has tons of walking trails, and the girls make the most of them.

I flip him the bird as I reluctantly drag my gaze from Serena.

"Kissed her again?" he asks, his lips curving into a smirk.

"I told you that was a onetime thing, and for the millionth time, I wish I'd never confided in you."

Brando slaps a hand over his chest. "You wound me. Deeply."

I grin, nudging his shoulder. "You're such an idiot."

"That, my friend, is the very definition of you." He casts his glance over my head in the direction of the women. "She's single now. Why haven't you made a move?"

There are a bunch of reasons why I haven't, but it's not something I want to discuss with anyone. "It's only been six weeks since that a**hole she was married to died. Rena's got a lot on her plate. She doesn't need any additional complications." As much as I'd love to complicate her life, I can see how badly she's floundering.

"It's Rena now, huh?" He flashes me another smirk, and I briefly consider punching him, purely to wipe it off his face.

"We're friends." I shrug. "That's what her friends call her."

"You could do the whole friends-with-benefits thing," he adds, still wearing the smug grin. "Nothing too complicated about that."

"Are you kidding me? Friends having s*x is as complicated as it gets."

Serena and Alesso’s love story was the one I was itching for since the breadcrumbs were dropped in Condemned to Love. To no one’s surprise, Siobhan did not disappoint! I loved the way Alesso and Serena built a powerful foundation of friendship. The way Alesso supported Serena and cared for her with every single part of himself gave me tingles. This man said the most heart warming and panty melting things. It was seriously impossible not to fall for him. The man was just devastatingly swoony. Together he and Serena were an incredible combination of sensualness, passion and unending devotion and I just couldn’t help but eat it up. But, what truly shined was Serena. She was not just a survivor but bonafide badass. A powerhouse and pillar of strength and resilience. Her transformation was epic and left me in awe. Now, in true Siobhan Davis fashion, the twists were heart-pounding twists and left me dangling on the edge for relief. This mafia romance had it all. Simply put, Scared to Love was unputdownable and before the story was over I already was eager for more in this world.

    Oh my gosh! I love this series. I can't give any of the books in this series less than five stars because they are so fricken good.

    I was so excited to read Serena's story after reading the first book in the series. Serena and Alesso's story couldn't have been any better. Alesso is so patient with Serena, and he genuinely loves her and her kids. Serena is an amazing mother and friend, and she deserves the world after what she's been through.

    This book has action as well as spice and tension between the two main characters. I would also say it is a slow burn, but it is completely worth it, in my opinion.

    I'm glad that we got her story along with Sierra's and Natalia's. I can't wait to see what is next for this series.

    What a wonderful finish to the Mazzone Mafia trilogy!! We caught glimpses of who this book would be about in both of the first two books. Alesso and Serena definitely has chemistry noticeable in book 1! Now in book three, Scared to Love we FINALLY get these two, and they are adorable!

    Serena went to a horrible marriage, arranged by her father. She suffered at the hand of this man, only to continue suffering after he died. That is until Alesso comes along and helps build her up and make her whole again. The sheer determination that Alesso set forth with to gain Serena’s trust and ultimately her heart was just amazing. Their relationship was definitely rocky at times, and they both thought they had lost each other.

    As will all mafia families, it isn’t a good mafia book without some family turmoil. We have that in folds here for both Serena and Alesso. Both things were quite the shocker to me! You’ll have to read to find out, that the only hint I’ll give.

    I loved Serena and her ultimate growth. She blossomed as a character and was able to become her own person again. It was amazing to see her determination. Then there is Alesso, and holy swoon factor! This man has it in bulk! I fell in love with his character early in the series and I’m so thankful we got to see his happy ending play out. He truly has the patience of a saint! Oh and his love for her kids, 🥰.

    For the most part, this is one of the least 🌶 books of this series for good reason once you read the context, but I truly did love it! I would highly recommend this book as well as any other in the Mazzone Mafia series!

    The story of Alesso and Serena was truly heartbreaking. Serena takes us through all the torment and trauma she suffered at the hands of her husband. She suffered unimaginable abuse in her marriage; however, she refuses to let her past dictate her future.

    Alesso is moving up the ranks within the Mazzone family and has attracted the eye of Serena and vice versa. Alesso was so patient with Serena. He knew the abuse she suffered and he was determined to show her not only a normal love, but showed her how strong she was to endure what she endured.

    I absolutely loved their story! This was my favorite in the series!

    I love how Siobhan can always make these mafia or slightly darker books about emotions as well and have the reader feeling for the characters. All of the books in the Mazzone mafia world have been really well done and this one is no exception.     Alessi is amazing, and I was so surprised with him, being a made man and having glimpses of him throughout the previous books I didn’t know the depth of his feelings and how understanding he could be.
    Serena was gift. I didn’t know how deep was her trauma, but we could imagined and oh boy, he story broke my heart so badly!
    I was completely heartbroken with her. I don’t know how could she gone through all that and still be standing. She was strong in such a beautiful way. She fought so hard to keep going. Her love for their kids was so big that she put all her suffering aside just to give them a little bit of normal.

    Scared to love is the third and final instalment of the Mazzone Mafia interconnected Stan-alone series. You do not have to read any of the other Mazzone Mafia books before reading this one. All books can be read separately. There is a few scenes and some small spoilers for those who haven’t read the other two books in the series.

    Right from the start Siobhan’s writing sucked me in and my emotions were all over the place. Serena has gone through so much and it’s about time she finally gets her happy story. Her father married her off years ago to a monster of a human and now that he is dead she doesn’t know how to let anyone care about her.
    Alesso has been watching and caring for Serena for a long time and will do anything to protect her.

    Both of these characters had so much to overcome but they found a way to do it together. Reading their story brought tears to my eyes and at times I wasn’t sure if they were going to make it. The love that they have for one another is inspiring and I’m so happy I finally got to read their story.

    This book gives you all the feels and is a must read for any Siobhan Davis fan.

    This is the third and final book in the Mazzone mafia story. I must say Bennett Mazzone is my favourite and I just love the strong name ideal for a mafia man.
    I loved the chemistry between Serena and Alesso and I was pleased it was a slow burn romance and not rushed. I was also pleased that Serena became a bad ass woman and didn’t let all that had happened to her effect her when it was needed for her to be strong. I could read Mafia stories all day long and usually do love this gene. I’m sorry these stories have ended but I am pleased not all is lost as we have the Twins stories to look forward too.
