Saving a Demon (Dallying with Demons Book 5) Kindle Edition
Aziel’s family wants him dead. That’s been true since he was a kid. To stay alive, he keeps his head down and follows orders, including becoming a guardian for his youngest cousin. He knew the job would be a pain in the ass. So when he gets a call from the school about a fight, it didn’t really surprise him. He was determined not to let his cousin become like the rest of his family. Even if it meant making him apologize to a human.
Declan had pretty much one goal. To make sure his little brother got a better hand than he did. So when his brother’s bully comes to apologize, he figures it was a step in the right direction. But the bully’s cousin keeps hanging around. And he’s acting really possessive. He had to wonder, was there something dangerous coming? Or was this guy hoping for more?
Aziel thought it couldn’t get any worse, but when an oracle told him he had to submit to the human to earn his freedom, Aziel considered that fate really didn’t like him. There was no way he was bringing a human into his mess. Even if it meant going against the vision meant to save his life.

About the author

Amy is an introverted squish who loves Happily Ever Afters, Magic, and True Love. While she doesn't stick with one specific subgenre, her favorite tends to be fluffy paranormal romance. In between writing books (like several. At one time. Because squirrel.) Amy likes to read and play relaxing video games. Her kindle is stuffed with romance and she hoards trophy books on her shelves. You can find her most nights pretending to be fancy with a glass of sparkling cider and a good book.
Send her a message. She might be an introvert, but she won't resist being adopted by an extrovert.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 5, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis entire series was fantastic! I read them all in a week, they were so good! So sweet and spicy, with enough angst to keep it interesting! Declan and Az were my favorite couple besides Brandon and Callum. If you love a sweet spicy monster romance look no further!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI am so happy Aziel got his happy ending. He truly deserved it. This is such a great story and I hope to read more from this world.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really liked this book. 4 star for rating, 3 for spice. Poor Az, he really has had a rough time of it. I’m glad he had Athena as a parental figure, she’s awesome. And Declan was well done with his tough no-crap attitude.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 5, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI'm so glad we finally got Aziel's story but I'm also sad this series is over.
Ariel has a violent criminal family and has never been accepted by them.
They view him as weak because he refuses to hurt others and constantly abuse him.
When he has to care for his cousin Dante it puts him in contact with Declan and his brother Ollie.
Initially there's animosity between the boys but they resolve it.
Aziel has never been able to have a relationship for fear that his family would use his partner as leverage to hurt him.
It's also why he keeps his distance from his friends.
He's always lonely but has resigned himself to that type of life.
As the boys become friends Declan abd Aziel also begin friends with benefits arrangement that quickly becomes more.
There's lots of action, danger and drama behind the scenes as events are put into motion to finally put an end to Aziel's evil family.
In order to do that, Aziel has to ask for help which he doesn't because he doesn't believe anyone can help.
I loved that even though Declan was basically thrown into this world without any knowledge he immediately takes it in stride and let's everyone know, especially Aziel, that he's not going down and willing to fight for them.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseDeclan is a tattoo artist and human. Aziel is a demon who works for his family. That family happens to be a crime one who hates humans. When Aziel finds his mate, he starts to freak out. Highly recommended
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2024Format: KindleSaving a Demon by Amy Padilla is the 5th book in her Dallying with Demons series. It is the story of a demon who is just trying to keep living with the odds of doing this stacked against him and his human mate who he has to protect. The integration of paranormals from the Other Realm into the Human Realm has taken place and paranormals of all kinds are starting to live there. Aziel Shadowwalker (or Aziel Nox as he is known in the Human Realm) is a demon whose Uncle Camus is the leader of a mafia like group who is out to take over the world. He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants and isn’t above torturing anyone who gets in his way. Aziel’s parents didn’t agree with his tactics and tried to leave but he killed his father and hurt his mother and now he takes it out on Aziel. He is tasked with finding information that can help his uncle get what he wants. He also has to take Dante, Camus’s youngest son, to the human realm to go to school there and teach him how to get information to bring back to his uncle. If they don’t do this to his satisfaction they will both be hurt. At first Dante is surly and doesn’t want anything to do with the humans. Something happens at school that involves a fight with Oliver Gray. Aziel takes Dante to Ollie’s brother’s tattoo shop, Ink’d, and he meets Declan Gray. When he sees Ollie’s black eye he knows Dante didn’t tell and truth and he teleports out and is going to return him to his father. Then he goes to see Athena, an oracle, and she says his path to happiness is to submit to the white tiger, who turns out to be Declan. He realizes that the only way he can keep Dante alive is to keep him with him. They go to Ink’d to apologize and send boys to the basketball court to play together. Declan is Ollie’s older brother and watches him after school several days a week while his parents are working. His parents are cool to him and don’t really want him around because he likes men so they don’t treat him with love. Ollie means everything to him so he is happy to have him. At first Aziel doesn’t want anything to do with Declan but Athena informs him that he is the way to getting free from his uncle so he tries to get to know him which leads them to have a hot love scene where Aziel gives up control. Usually they are one and done but Declan is intrigued by Aziel and Aziel liked the feelings he has with Declan, plus the boys are getting to be good friends. When a family meeting is called by Camus, Aziel and Dante have to give the information they got and Aziel is accused of consorting with humans, something Camus will not stand for. Dante helps him out with a reason for this but Aziel is concerned that that his uncle and brothers will find out about Declan and Ollie and wants to do everything he can to protect them. This involves Athena, his demon friends Callum, Felix, Malakai, and Hendrix, and they are more than happy to have his back and help out. Feelings are developing between the men as they see more of each other and strange things are delivered to the shop that make Aziel fearful. Then there is another family meeting, this time in the Other Realm, and everything falls apart with Aziel barely saving Dante and some humans his uncle has captured. Then Aziel is taken away to be tortured and his friends and Declan get involved and go after him to save him. When they do, he is taken to a healing hospital with severe injuries but he recovers and they both declare their love for each other and go on to start a life together as mates, taking Dante and Ollie with them. I really enjoyed this book. I was on the edge of my seat through all of it because I kept wondering what Aziel’s uncle was going to do next to him and Dante. Aziel was never going to hurt humans and would die before he did and he was all about protecting those he considered family. Declan was a strong man and while somewhat confused about demons and paranormals he went all in with Aziel. Dante and Ollie were in the middle of everything in the story and Dante changed to like humans, especially Ollie, and Ollie stands up for what is right. Athena and Aziel’s friends were very important in the story and came through when they needed them most. His uncle was truly psychotic and unhinged and it was epic in how he got what was coming to him. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like paranormal stories between a demon and a human with lots of suspense involved as they fall in love and find their happy ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2024Format: KindleFifth in series (Dallying with a Demon), might be more fun if read in order as it is the series finale. Paranormal. Fated mates. Found family. Dual POV. Heed content warnings.
An unwilling participant in his family’s criminal business, and now guardian to his young cousin Dante, Aziel is just struggling to survive each day. When a conflict between Dante and Declan’s younger brother brings Aziel and Declan together, there is more that blooms besides the kids' friendship, especially once Aziel learns he is supposed to protect Declan.
Admiration and lust turns to more for both tattooist Declan and Aziel, but Aziel knows he can never escape his family or find his own happiness. Aziel’s found family is wonderfully supportive and protective and Declan rises to the occasion when he finds his own need to protect not just his brother but Aziel and Dante too. I enjoyed that the determined Declan is equal to any danger that a demon family can throw at him (especially since he has stood up to his own family), and that Aziel and Declan form their own family together in getting their HEA. 4.25
- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2024Format: KindleThis one is a little darker than the others, but is told in a manageable manner. At least for me. There is some physical abuse against one of the MCs, so if that is an issue for you, steer clear. Just know that the rest of the group in the found family comes to his rescue, with everyone getting what they deserve. And the MCs get their HEA.
I noted only a couple of proofreading issues in the ARC.
