Saving Christmas: A sparkling and wonderfully uplifting festive romance (Norman Landing Seaside Village) Paperback – September 23, 2022
Purchase options and add-ons
It’s not only Christmas that needs saving.
Katie's life is turned upside down less than four weeks before Christmas leaving her unemployed, heartbroken and homeless. Luckily, her younger sister, Emma makes her an offer she can’t refuse. But spending the festive season in the quaint seaside town Katie left behind five years ago, is not at the top of her Christmas Wish List. Although it will give her time to heal and plan her future.
Firefighter, Aaron’s not a fan of Christmas which his new neighbour, Katie clearly is, judging by the blaring Christmas music. Sparks fly the moment they meet, and it seems they can’t agree on anything. But Aaron can’t concern himself with Katie. He’s got his own demons to fight and a ghost from a Christmas past he’s unable to lay to rest.
When a fire at Conqueror’s Court Care Home threatens to ruin the festive season for the elderly residents – one of whom is Katie’s meddlesome nan – Katie’s determined she’ll save their Christmas. Even if she must accept help from her grumpy but annoyingly attractive neighbour, Aaron … along with Ember, his rambunctious dog.
Setting aside their differences, Katie and Aaron pull together and things soon look promising. In more ways than one. But will painful memories from Aaron’s past and Katie’s recent heartbreak keep them apart? Or will Katie’s ex do that by arriving with the perfect present to make Katie’s dreams come true?
Katie and Aaron want to save Christmas. Will they save one another along the way?
And will the magic of the season add a touch of sparkle to everyone’s lives?
This is book 1 in a new series set in the quaint seaside town of Norman Landing. Each book can be read as a standalone.

About the author

Emily writes novels, novellas and short stories about friendship, family, the things life throws at us, and falling in love. She loves a happy ending but knows that life doesn't always go to plan. Her stories are sure to bring a smile to your face and a warmth to your heart. She is a full member of the Society of Authors and since her first book was published in 2012, several of her books have been best sellers.
Emily lives in East Sussex, UK, minutes from the sea in a town called Hastings - famous for the Battle of 1066. The stunning surrounding countryside and quaint English villages often appear in her books. Emily lives with her rescue cat, Portia, and when she's not writing, she loves to read, cook, drink (too much) wine with her friends, and potter in the garden of the house she's recently bought. She also loves skiing, adores frolicking in the snow, and is a self-confessed lover of Christmas - which can't start too early, in her opinion.
Emily loves to connect with her readers and has a readers' group in which many have become good friends. To catch up with Emily, or find out about the group, visit https://www.emilyharvale.com or connect with her on social media: https://www.facebook.com/emilyharvalewriter

- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2023I loved the characters in this book! The town, the storyline was so engaging! I couldn't put this book down!! It was that good. I'm getting ready to read the next book in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2023The only complaint is that the ending was too abrupt and the plot lines not completely resolved. I would read it again anyway because the characterizations were wonderful.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 17, 2022I loved this story. There is always hope for our future. Never give up and you Faith,, Friends and Family are the most important things in this world.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2022For some reason the dialogue between supposed adults was ridiculous and immature. I found myself skipping past the childish and long-winded reflections and silliness, hoping for redemption in this potentially good story...no such luck.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2022I really enjoyed this funny story by Emily Harvale. It was very entertaining and I’m looking forward to reading more by her.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2023The first few chapters dealt with the background of the main characters.
It was drawn out and by the end of the first chapter you knew the whole story. Very predictable and I really did want to like the book as she is a good writer. I struggled to finish it.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2022Has loads of potential and I’m not sorry I read it. It just doesn’t hit the highest marks is all. But it is cute.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2022I truly enjoyed this romantic Christmas story! A true modern day hero and damsel in distress! Lovely characters and a feel good read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A tribute to the Fire and Rescue Services in the UK
This wonderful book tells the story of Katie (recently split from her long term partner) her sisters dashing neighbour Aaron and their friends and families. It’s a lovely journey through the early stages of “falling for someone”, solid family values and long lasting friendships.
I don’t want to ruin the plot but thank you Emily for honouring the work of the Fire and Rescue Services in the UK and the fact that they literally put their life on the line to save people.
A lovely read to get you in the festive mood.

This book was just wow, the long road and heartache Aaron and Katie has faced is portrayed so well within this book. At first I didn't know if I was going to enjoy this book but the author completely proved me wrong. The book has so much emotion and it brought the readers into the book.
