Secrets at the Loch (Loch Lannick Book 5) Kindle Edition
For years Lexie has kept everyone at arm’s length. Her heart is so guarded it’s almost impenetrable.
Until Nick.
When the geeky teacher moves in next door, Lexie finds it increasingly difficult to ignore her attraction to him. To protect herself, she pushes him away, convincing herself that hurting him isn’t a big deal.
She never imagined him leaving town. Or how much she’d miss him when he left.
Desperate to make amends, she follows him to his hometown, determined to do whatever it takes to earn his forgiveness.
Even if that means sharing her deepest secrets.
As she opens up to Nick, she begins to imagine a future she’d never dared dream of. Now all she has to do is let her guard down and take a chance on love …

- Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2021If you've been following along with the Loch Lannick books you've already read the stories of Leana, Isla, and Elsbeth, the three sisters in the story and how they have arrived at this point in their lives.
In this 5th book of the story we learn a bit more of Lexie, Leana"s best friend since childhood. Since New Years everyone has decided that Lexie has hanged and no one can figure out why? Can the meddlesome ways of the sisters help or hinder Lexie? Does the sudden departure of her friend, Nick , have anything to do with her? Will she ever be able to reveal her secrets to anyone? Will her past and the revelations to herself allow her to stop holding everyone at arms length? Will she ever be able to have a relationship? Will she ever know if she is good enough? Only by reading this ever evolving story of the MacKenzie family of Lannick Will you find out.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2021This author has a penchant for unconfident characters who like to overthink everything. Lexie is almost afraid of her own shadow. Nick seems to bring out her best qualities, but he doesn't deserve to be treated so poorly. It took him getting really angry with her to get her to tell her friends about them.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2021I am binging on this lovely series. This episode focused on Lexie and Nick rather than the Mackenzie sisters. Secrets can be problematic. It was good to see them be revealed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Extremely frustrating protagonist, I wanted to shake some sense into her.
If you don't love and respect yourself you have no right to expect love and respect from others. This book really frustrated me because of how much the protagonist lies, especially to herself. It lost a rating star because of this reason.

4.0 out of 5 stars Secrets at the Loch
I'm happy Nick got the HEA he deserves, he's been one of my favourite characters throughout the books. He has a very quick wit and makes me smile constantly. Lexie, on the other hand I found frustrating. A story well told by Hannah Ellis, she had me engrossed in the characters and I never get tired of reading about them.
