I love Rachael Stewart’s stories they are heart-warming, filled with emotion and so beautifully written, true romances that are sure to please any romance reader and this one was a gorgeous second chance romance set in Yorkshire, come along for this wonderful journey it is sure to leave you feeling very happy.

Set in a lovely quiet village we meet Felicity Gardner who has lived here always as a teenager she fell in love with Sebastian Ferrington from Ferrington Manor they were young and so blissfully happy but then Sebastian left, gone and no amount of searching found him, you see Felicity was left with consequences but she proved that she was strong and moved on happily and with the help of her Gran.

Sebastian loved Felicity but when things went wrong at the manor house he had to leave, everything changed for him but now his grandfather is gone and Sebastian is here to take over Ferrington Manor he is finding it hard and when he arrives at the Gardner Guest house and Felicity is there feeling and emotions are running riot.

Sixteen years is a long time to be away and Felicity is shocked but also pleased that she can finally tell Sebastian about Angel, but there is a lot that needs to be discussed and Sebastian needs to open up about why he left, thinking Felicity will not want him that is not so, beautiful Felicity with her understanding and heart of gold is there for him and soon their hearts are joined again although there are a few ups and downs to get over first. I loved this beautiful romantic story filled with emotion and so much love, I highly recommend this one it is a must read there were tears of joy at the end.

Good second chance romance with a bonus emotional punch. Sixteen years earlier, Felicity and Sebastian were teenage sweethearts. They meant the world to each other, or so she thought until he and his mother and brother vanished without a trace. Now he's back, and the revelations are about to shake up their worlds.

The story opens as Sebastian arrives at Ferrington Manor for the first time in sixteen years. Even though his grandfather is gone, Sebastian has difficulty facing the memories that await him. He retreats to the local B&B, owned by his first love's family. He wonders if she is still there, just as she appears around a corner. It is immediately apparent that there is still something there between them. However, Felicity's greatest concern is figuring out how to tell Sebastian that he has a sixteen-year-old daughter and vice-versa.

I liked that Felicity had no intention of keeping Angel's existence a secret from Sebastian. She may still be hurt and angry over his disappearance, but she won't use that to punish him. I was happy to see that, once he recovered from the shock, Sebastian wasn't angry or disbelieving about the news. They have the maturity to realize that they have a lot to talk about before any decisions are made. But before they can do more than make a few tentative plans, the media gets wind of who Sebastian is and his plans for Ferrington Manor. I liked his decisiveness in dealing with the paparazzi, but it opened a host of other problems.

Sebastian plans to whisk Felicity and Angel off to Ferrington Manor for safety and privacy, but that also changes the timeline for revealing the truth to Angel. I ached for both Sebastian and Felicity, who feared her reaction. I liked the realism of Angel's mixed feelings and the effects of those feelings on her parents. I liked seeing Felicity stand up to Sebastian when it came to doing the right things for Angel as he tried to adjust to being a father. She had a hard line to walk between being a responsible parent and coming across as the bad guy.

I enjoyed watching the rekindling of the relationship between Felicity and Sebastian. The sparks were still there, but they are different people than they were back then. Felicity can't contemplate moving forward with Sebastian until he explains what drove him away in the first place. Sebastian hesitates to tell her because he believes he's too broken to deserve her. Because of what happened, Sebastian has kept his emotions under tight control. He nearly drives her away when he can't be honest about his feelings. If not for his brother's advice, he might have lost it all. But a heartrending confession by Sebastian and Felicity's compassion and understanding made a most romantic ending. The epilogue was lovely, too.

Secondary characters Bree (Felicity's best friend) and Theo (Sebastian's brother) have some intriguing vibes happening in the background. I can't wait to read their story.

This is the first book in the Claiming the Farrington Empire duet. Talk about an emotional rollercoaster. When he was a teen, Sebastian fled town with his mother and younger brother Theo, fearing and hiding from his abusive and powerful grandfather. That night left a lasting impression on Sebastian making him believe he was unworthy of love, fearing he'd turn out like his father and grandfather. It's been 16 years and he's returned home, a self made billionaire, only to discover that his childhood sweetheart has a teenager and he's the father. I think the author did a wonderful job making the story believable and not glossing over the hurt that Sebastian, Felicity and their daughter Angel have to process. I can't wait to read Theo's story. Great second chance surprise child romance, steamy and well written.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

*gets caught warbling P!nk’s True Love 🎶 at the top of my voice…*

    Oops! *blushes*

*coughs* In my defence, I just can’t help it *shrugs*. Every time I pick up a new RS True Love book P!nk automatically starts playing in my head. They will forever be intrinsically linked, end of.

So, picture the scene… I picked up SBtBR as P!nk stepped up to the mike where I was ready for a dose of much (much) needed happy chemicals whilst losing myself in Flick (Felicity) and Sebastian’s tale. *sighs* Utter bliss.

I mean who doesn’t love a trope-a-licious pick-in-mix tale of former teen best-friends-to-lovers, secret pregnancy and second chance love story all rolled into one? Even if the author did bleeping make me work hard for the HEA this time. I even double (and triple) checked I was reading a True Love book at one point *snorts*. The fear was for real, peeps.

I mean can you imagine coming face to face with the love of your life after not being able to find hide nor hair of him for 16 years, for him to suddenly appear back in your hometown with more money than Croesus? *snorts*. Then you have to go, “Oh, btw…” Yeah, Flick needs this drama like a hole in the head, even if Sebastian reignites her long dormant hormones. First loves, eh?

Sebastian is a quintessential Rachael Stewart H, aka Laura catnip, as he is a tad tortured (self-directed) and emotionally withdrawn until returning home turns his world upside down for the better. Flick and Angel melt all his defences *sighs*.

Sweet, sexy, emotional with a touch of angst, SBtBR is what the True Love imprint is all about, and why I’ll always wear my Rachael Stewart Fangirl insignia (metaphorically speaking) with pride.
