For the wolven creatures and the feral den mothers.

For the heartbroken dreamers reclaiming their voices, their time, their wholeness.

For everyone who refuses to be tamed.

For you, my gently rebellious seekers, my fiercely sensitive kin,

I offer you a piece of my heart:

"Secrets & Stars" is the debut poetry collection of poet, photographer, and spiritual director, Alix Klingenberg. Playing with archetype and myth, this book explores a return to wholeness, a rejection of fractured existence, and a claiming of the entire self as beloved, sacred, and divine. With roots in earth-centered spirituality, the elements of nature, wilderness, and cycles permeate this volume that manages to illuminate, in a truly intimate way, the struggles of a poet coming into her own voice.

"But what I'm coming to is that I can't do any of the things that I want. Which is maybe how most poets are born."

I am a poet too, and maybe that's why this little book of poetry feels like one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. All I know is that it's going on my bookshelf and it will be read a thousand times, and I will buy more copies and give them as gifts. I cried and it broke my heart and yet it made me feel full. And it touched me on a cellular level.

"What I want is to name every good thing the world has to offer and string together meaningful words that alter humanity at a cellular level."

Nice job, Alex Klingenberg. I admired this book. There's something about poetry and how it rests in the place between non-fiction and fiction. How that place is more real that anyplace else I've ever been. And because of that there's something extremely admirable about the poet who will release their words to the world. It takes so much strength, that alone makes me cry sometimes.

I loved this.

Thank you to the author.

If you enjoy poetry you will love this... it is one of the most beautiful collections of words and with such an evocative use of language... it resonates deeply on a very personal level and expresses dark moments in a way that touches my soul. I am in love with this book. I have so far purchased 3- one for myself of course, and then 2 as gifts because it is too special not to share.

One of the Best Poetry Books I`ve Ever Read (and I have read a lot :) )
Alix has a very unique way of seeing the world and interpreting her feelings, which makes this book so precious and unique. Besides being a wonderful writer, she is an amazing person. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves true poetry.

There is nothing to not love about this poetry collection and the magical, moving words of Alix Klingenberg. The editing of the book is so intentional. The first piece “Introduction” lured me in with such sensitive storytelling and vivid imagery. The final title piece, “Secrets and Stars” offered closure but left me wanting more. If you want to be allowed to feel, if you want to be transported to the darkness and the forests and the deepest parts of yourself, and most importantly, if you love foxes and the moon, buy Secrets & Stars.

Beautiful, raw, vulnerable poetry! These poems clearly come from a soul that has been through hard things, has let those things teach them what they needed to learn, and we get to share the rewards. These little poems cleverly and inventively shape words to get their point across. I deeply resonated with them, and am so grateful to be able to read these words to express many of my feelings that previously were wordless. Amazing!

I follow Alix on Instagram and bought her book because her account is lovely. And it's amazing! Beautiful and lyrical and relatable and everything one would want in a book of poetry. <3

I loved how almost every page of this book made me feel something or explore thoughts inside my mind. While I don't share the experience that I believe the author was coming from when she wrote Secrets and Stars, I was able to use her words to ask some really deep questions of myself and receive profound answers in return. I cannot recommend this book enough. It is truly beautiful, authentic and gifted.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's as close to perfect as poetry gets!

I love poetry but these days it's rare to find a writer who creates authentic, insightful and meaningful poems. Alix does just that in page after page of this wonderful book. She presents us with beautifully honest, touching observations and deeply personal poetry that give us intimate little glimpses of her soul. Her writing for me resonates on a level that's almost indescribable. It's genuine, real, at times mesmerising poetry. It has been given a permanent place on my bedside table because it's a book I'll return to over and over. You will too.

This a beautiful book of poetry, of thoughts, of journeys and of realisations. I love it and will read it again.

Alix’s words make me laugh, tear, remember, consider. She finds a way to get inside of me and for me to discover more.

Alix has a knack of dropping in a couple of phrases, often at the end, that stop me in my tracks. They land often in my heart and my gut. I can’t quite make cognitive sense of the insight or meaning, but it is oh so there and it’s a wonderful place to be taken.
